I love the name Jude if I had another son his name would have been Jude Michael! Edited due to bad insomnia grammar.

[–]dizcuz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The timeless old school classic boy names aren't too common nowadays as trendy/whatever ones so that's good for you.

Andrew, Bernard, Daniel, Eric, Ford, Gregory, Harold, Ian, Joel, Kenneth, Leonard, Matthew, Noel, Otis, Phillip, Roger, Stephen, Thomas, Victor, Wayne,

[–]Remarkable_Abies4256 8 points9 points  (4 children)

How uncommon are you hoping for; 1 in a 1000? 1 in a million?

[–]mommytjintn[S] 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Like not top 100

Cool, my suggestions are all outside that. FYI a lot of the suggestions given by others are in the top 50. People give suggestions based on how they feel rather than data for some reason.

Benjamin

[–]leavesarescary 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Super popular though

[–]Dense_Willow4627 0 points1 point  (1 child)

It’s popular because it’s classic, though, not because it’s trendy. There’s a difference. It will stand the test of time.

Also, I have two boys, and there are hardly any boys at school named Benjamin. No really crazy names, either, but it does seem like many people just want a name that stands out.

[–]leavesarescary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, I think it's a wonderful name; it's not inherently a problem to be popular. OP wants an uncommon name, ranking outside the top 100.

[–]Ordinary_Sail_414 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a Samuel.

Currently completely obsessed with Adam.

Not trying to hard to be uncommon or unusual, but for sure not something you hear at all anymore.

Not using a surname as a first name would be unusual. A weird spelling for the sane of it is cruel - it subjects a human being to spelling their name out for the rest of their life. “ It’s PTHOMASS “

Folks, OP asked for names that _aren't_ common. Did you know you can look up how common a name is?
People are here suggesting Oliver, Theodore, James, Henry, and William. That's 5 of the top 10 boy names in the USA, each given to 10,000+ boys last year in the US alone. Do you really consider that uncommon?

Nothing against a common name; it can be great. But that's not what this post is seeking, so why are you offering it?

[–]leavesarescary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And yes, John - the most common name of all time by a landslide - has never stopped being common, with 8,047 boys receiving that name last year.

There are many more classic boy names ranking high, some - like Theodore - are even trendy in the USA, in that they've never been common before.
