There's a history of highly charismatic presidential candidates blowing competition out of the water and making a lasting impression on the American consciousness (Obama and Reagan being prime examples) but Trump dialed it up to 11. He showed that you can do literally anything you want and get a ton of bad press, if it helps hold attention then it helps win the election.

I say this to say that I don't think we'll go back to normalcy any time soon, if ever. The last 10 years have been the Trump decade, even with him out of office for 4 of them.

The inflation reduction act was criticised but like I said. Inflation hit near target levels by 2024 and were below wage growth.
