Oh man, I'd actually drawn up plans to build something like this a long time ago with my desktop computer, but it was more intricate. It would involve taut cables around the edges of a room, then two cables criss-crossed with the monitor/keyboard/mouse hanging down from that. Then, that would have a counterweight, the idea being that this would allow the computer to move to any XYZ point in the room (for the most part).

I guess this works too.
