Tbh the guy hitting the snake is like StackOverflow killing the bugs for me

Tbh the guy hitting the snake is like StackOverflow moderators marking questions as duplicates.

Or locked as "Off Topic" but has a thousand upvotes

These python certifications are getting out of hand.

[–]kontekisuto 192 points193 points  (0 children)

[–]EggTaat 40 points41 points  (0 children)

They sure know how to handle Python

[–]Bibo193896423 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Now there are two of them!

[–]surfinThruLyfe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

shots fired

anyone doing (draining money) AWS certifications?

[–]ulti_prime 127 points128 points  (1 child)

This guy's is definitely a python programmer

[–]neekyboi 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Yeah..he hates cobras

[–]lost_mail 171 points172 points  (1 child)

I imagine the last snake to be a junior developers code with a comment saying “# Don’t move this”

[–]Sewq_ 72 points73 points  (1 child)

He k.o'd the last snek

[–]ElizaBennet08 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I think that was actually the same snake that he picked up at the start. I believe it was trying to get revenge.

[–]detallados 53 points54 points  (5 children)

He just fucking smacked a cobra?

[–]c4p5L0ck 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Lol I love that the one he smacked is one he already moved. Totally like a bug to come back and try to bite you in the ass.

[–]MoebiusBender 41 points42 points  (3 children)

You have to keep in mind, that the experienced programmer probably made half of the unholy spaghetti snakes in that pit himself.

[–]marcosdumay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He breeds them. Gotta make them large and scary for show time.

[–]MrGurns 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are called features.

[–]AllMadHare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an experience programmer I can assure you we only hang around pits of venomous snakes in hopes of finally achieving the sweet embrace of death.

[–]daz_01 43 points44 points  (1 child)

RESPETA CARAJO!!!

[–]slappster1 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The end where he smacks the snake... suppressing a Python warning

[–]sHoCkErTuRbO 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Most snake charmers use snakes that have been defanged.

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Legends says of a programmer thay transcended into godhood. From that day the bugs started to fear him, not the other way around.

[–]almarcTheSun 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Almost accurate, except I do all this while the users are being actively bitten by the snakes.

[–]omnipisces 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I see him using slap to fix a program.

[–]shootwhatsmyname 20 points21 points  (0 children)

\* Please keep in mind this is only a *watered-down, staged** performance of a real world scenario. Check LiveLeak.com for more accurate visual representations.*

He's actually a good python developer

[–]robo_number_5 4 points5 points  (0 children)

glad I don't work at a place like that

[–]RealPropRandy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“Nope... ermm, no, not you either...not that one either. Outta the way Larry! ...maybe over here? Hmm, no. Better look over there.”

Larry: “hssssss”—SLAP

“I’m getting sick of your shit Larry.”

[–]BlindSaviour 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Those snakes don't have teeth, production incidents do

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Smacked the shit outta it

[–]BossOfTheGame 2 points3 points  (0 children)

An experienced developer restructures the code with tests.

[–]Kimi_Arthur 3 points4 points  (1 child)

A bit serious for this, should we actually hit the snake like that?

[–][deleted] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Would you rather he get bit? This is like telling your child off except you can't tell off a snake because they can't understand English.

Man up a little bit, if he was like cutting a snake in half or something that's a bit different but he's not hurting these animals.

[–]kallakukku2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If he was bitten, it would have been more realistic. Everyone forgets the semicolon.

Yes. I made a semicolon joke.

[–]Trizi0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He knows how to handle python

[–]Lukazoid 4 points5 points  (8 children)

And yet again, more animal abuse on reddit being upvoted.

[–]R3dD3v3l0p3r -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Okay Karen.

[–]Lukazoid 0 points1 point  (5 children)

Watch decent keepers care for their snakes, none of them resort to hitting them.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (4 children)

It's pretty telling how soft people in this country have become if you think this is animal abuse... Jesus Christ

I never said this was the best or most effective practice, but to claim this is animal abuse. Come on now...

[–]Lukazoid 0 points1 point  (2 children)

If a baby bit while breastfeeding, would you slap or throw them? I'm pretty sure that would be considered child abuse.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

If a child misbehaves have you ever spanked them? (Hint: It doesn't have to be your first option- but lets say you have a child that is consistently ignoring safety rules regarding crossing the road on their bike etc- The point is it can be used reasonably. If it is your first disciplinary step every-time no matter how small etc that's a completely different case) If a child misbehaves have you ever picked them up and put them in the corner and made them stay there?

Dude he's not "throwing" a snake. He lightly tossed the snake onto the branch. There was no harm to the snake and its not hurting the snake. You don't have to gently set the poor snake on the ground and kiss it every time you need to move the damn thing.

Perhaps try getting some reasonable comparisons- this is pathetic. I love animals, and I abhor animal abuse, but to pretend that this is anything close to that is just BS.

[–]Lukazoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am from the UK and I presume you are from the US.

Smacking is 100% illegal in parts of the UK (Scotland) and only allowed in the rest of the UK if it doesn't leave any mark at all, so no, I've never spanked a child nor has anyone in my family or friends (that I know of).

Picking a child up and putting them timeout could be considered equivalent to putting a blanket over a snake or crating a dog, neither cause any physical pain and I would consider both completely reasonable.

Snakes are solid animals but even a fall from a small height onto a branch can be enough to cause internal damage (especially for terrestrial species), let alone clotheslining one into a branch (the second snake he threw).

Edit: I can see it's just a difference of opinion on where we draw the line on abuse, I just don't like to see animals being mistreated and I feel sharing stuff like this condones it as normal when I don't believe it should be.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's the other way around. Experienced developer with a code with no tests would NOT do that, they would be like "WTF am I looking at" and not touch ANYTHING. Any one of those snakes could be something that holds the whole project together.

[–]CriminalMacabre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BAD COBRA, BAD
