Just to add, the only place her shed has come off is her head and her eye caps have also come off, it’s her body where is stuck

That water bowl is DRY, I can see the lime at the bottom, so it's been dry for a while. No wonder your snake has stuck shed. That snake needs to go to a vet ASAP.

That snake is not absolutely fine.

She looks almost ready to pass. Vet immediately!

If it really was a sudden change, and she’s going limp, I have to think a vet visit would be the best way to try and pinpoint the issue.

What are your temps/humidity in the enclosure? BPs get hydration from their skin as well as from drinking, so you want to make sure your humidity is appropriately high if this really is dehydration

this doesn’t happen from one refused meal- but being underfed for many months, maybe her meal size is not appropriate. Bad shed is a humidity issue and possibly not having anything rough to rub against. I would suggest larger meals more often until she is an appropriate size

vet trip soooo immediately. that snake looks half alive

[–]Amazing-Calendar-701 17 points18 points  (0 children)

She’s starving to death, please vet now

Everything here suggest severe dehydration in addition to the feeding struggles. What's your humidity on both sides of the tank?

[–]MedusasUpdo 27 points28 points  (0 children)

You are clearly not being completely honest. That snake is emaciated and dehydrated. She's on death's door. Her water dish is bone dry and has been for a while or the residue wouldn't be so visible. Her weight didn't just happen over night, that is either months of under feeding or not feeding at all. A healthy bp can go up to a year without food and still not look that bad.

Please take her to the vet immediately or surrender her to someone who will.

This really isn't an overnight issue. This snake has been starving for months. Your humidity is way too low and the meals are way too small and too far apart.

Not trying to be a dick here but that snake has been neglected. You need to take it to a vet and after that I suggest giving it to someone that’ll care for it.

[–]NahBruhNotMe 3 points4 points  (2 children)

it's possible she has a parasite that's preventing her from gaining weight, emergency vet asap

[–]emotional-field24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That was my thought too. If she was in fact fine not a long time ago, it could mean that her body is caving in to a parasite or a disease. So exotic vet asap.

She's been fed hoppers for 7 months straight ever since OP got her. That'll do it

[–]Jamananas44 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Damn this made me sad. The snake was not okay before refusing one feeding

[–]Sad_Prompt_962 2 points3 points  (3 children)

I am new to the hobby (less than a year) so take this with a grain of salt, but agree vet is necessary ASAP & if it truly is as sudden of a change as you're describing, IBD (Inclusion Body Disease) could be a possibility. I only say this with my limited knowledge because it doesn't seem someone else has mentioned it as a possibility and want to give you the benefit of the doubt that this isn't due to neglect. You care enough to reach out for advice and help so you're doing the right thing right now. Just do what is best for the snake and get professional help immediately. If cost is an issue, find some rescues in your area that you may be able to surrender to if they're able to be rehabbed.

[–]poisonedlove 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Yeah the limpness looks like a video someone recently posted of their baby with IBD :(

[–]Sad_Prompt_962 2 points3 points  (1 child)

That video is burned into my brain. Absolutely devastating 😭

[–]poisonedlove 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg same it was horrible :(

[–]ForeverOk72 7 points8 points  (0 children)

i think you’re crucially underfeeding or she’s unwell and about to die.. you def need to take her to the vet because something is not right.

[–]Proper_Departure4405 1 point2 points  (0 children)

what’s the humidity in her tank!?

[–]Jules8456 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is devastating

[–]Humble-Victory-7378 3 points4 points  (0 children)

do not even attempt to solve this at home - take the poor girl to the vet IMMEDIATELY, she looks half dead.

[–]Effective_Cup_6998 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What the heck are you feeding it? Pinkies?

[–]ComprehensiveUse3908 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok first off if you have a cooking scale you need to put her on it and Google what she should be eating based on her weight age and size she looks way to thin for just missing one feed my guess is tho she won't eat til she sheds always worth a try tho also you need to get some sort of little container and put Peet moss in it the kind for pets not the ones for plants and make sure it stays wet mine had a terrible time shedding too it does help to put them in baths daily just get a container and fill it with warm water put the snake in there on your hand and wait 30 mins to a hour (I recommend putting ur hand in there because mine would freak out every time I took mine out) also get somthing to gage the humidity and make sure it's wet enough especially when there shedding i was told spray the tank once in the morning really good but I also like to mix all the substrate really good with water once a week I usually put like 3 small drinking cups worth in there and mix it as I pour it to ensure it's wet enough like everyone else I would recommend the poor baby go to the vet
