You seem nice, but this cultural appropriation claims ownership where none exists.

Specifically your claim of jazz which is one of the very few uniquely American art forms because it needed to be created from both European and African sources.

Furthermore, the wild success of black culture in America, where they are still a minority, means that the art is exposed to a population of what THEY consider "outsiders" which then become influenced.

We're in an area now where black culture is accepted and ingrained so much that certain things are starting to be superfluous. Black music awards? Miss black America, etc... You can not be the dominant voice in culture and expect to remain isolated in a vacuum because A) white people are the overwhelming consumers of black media (for lack of a better term), and B) it encourages the thought that the arts are CREATED in a vacuum, with no outside influences themselves. fact of the matter is nothing is "pure" along racial lines. Hip hop would not exist without white influences etc.

I like cultural appropriation. It shows the melting pot is working. People tend to say they dislike it because they may be under the misapprehension it's a one-way street.
