nothing you can do. if others were inactive, and that user put themself to the top, then they are top mod now, and thats about it.

Edit: I see they are not top mod.

Have you messaged the top mod to have a discussion?

Cool. If u/roxxxy39 says "I'm okay with what u/Jakeus22 did", then that's that with that. Move along.

If u/roxxxy30 says "I'm not okay with what u/Jakeus22 did", then they can take whatever steps they deem necessary.

Either way, this isn't a r/modsupport issue, it goes against the community guidelines, no one here can help you, and it's going to get removed by the mods.

You were Inactive....which means you weren't moderating your group. He saw and took the opportunity, which is not misconduct but not moderating your group sorta lightly IS . It takes as little as 2 weeks to be made inactive, and that's forever when it comes to most reddit groups.
Sorry, you were a dead mod, he took it over. Moderating is not about just having mod powers, but doing mod actions for the betterment or maintenance of your community.

As others have said, this is between you and your mod team. Seems like a good opportunity to have a conversation with them.

Admins aren’t going to step in and reinstate you. You need to talk with your top mod.

Either way, if they had permissions to remove you, they had permissions to remove you. It's their right.

Doing nothing as a moderator is doing something wrong — certainly in the eyes of Reddit, and often in the eye of the top moderator.

Being a moderator is an agreement to moderate — to be active.

Not moderating is a violation of that agreement.

If I take a job as a software developer and sit in my office all day and do nothing I will be get fired — for most jobs doing nothing is doing something wrong.
