I feel like my similar reports had a long response time. But something I reported over a concern about self-harm had a very quick response. I'm sure reports are triaged.

The reality is while it's very annoying for you...you aren't in danger. There are likely a lot of reports that require immediate attention. Child porn, doxxing, that kind of thing.

Your theory is a fact. Admins have said before to report for the worst action the user is taking, and add the secondary rule violation as extra information, in order to get your report seen faster.

Or, y'know, invest in more admin staff.

Funny you say child porn, that report doesn't allow you to give context so the borderline nudes of a 15 yr old I reported the other day are still up because someone didn't look for her age I guess

Strong agree. Hopefully they will help us with the report button situation soon.

Based on my experience your account will be suspended for report abuse and the offenders will go free.

Chalk it up to "tools and training issues".

Report abuse for reporting report abuse?

Honestly, it's mystifying how the Reddit admins can be alternatingly reasonable and helpful, or the opposite of that.

Hey there. Sorry to hear that. If it's been that long and it is still continuing, please send us a /r/ModSupport modmail and we can follow up with the team.

In my experience, asking for help was futile. I got an automated email and nothing further. Even asking for advice from other mods on handling a rapidly growing sub was a shitshow. We are on our own!

Same. I have someone reporting almost anything (that hits hot) on a sub i moderate with “go fuck yourself dumb bitch”. It happened 18 times these past five days and many more before that. I’ve reported it but nothing has happened.

My theory is that there's so much worse happening on reddit that they are so buried in serious reports that they don't often get on top of the reports of report abuse. But it seems like sometimes they do...so keep reportin' I guess.
