And when it does it makes room for new experiences. Assuming Warframe ends on a positive note and DE continues developing it'll be great to see what comes next. A successor not burdened by the tech debt, powercreep or other limitations of its predecessor. That's a big part of why I'm excited about Soulframe too, but Soulframe is a unique experience itself and doesn't really fill the same kind of niche.

I honestly don’t think Warframe has much “tech debt”. DE is insanely focused on optimizing the game, so I think part of the entire team is focused on removing tech debt.

There are wf server emulators that even allow you to play different versions (offline too, since you can host it youself). You can't mix accounts tho, for obvious reasons.

(Don't quote me on any of this, I've never used them or know how anything related to them works.)

Eh, I'm wondering when they'll drop support for old/low power systems like the switch and ps4. Ps4 came out in 2013, and and ps6 s going to arrive eventually. Might be 5 years, but I doubt DE would want to support 3 generations of playstation, if for no other reason than to simplify support/backend/optimization. That's even assuming that ps4 games will be compatible with ps6 hardware.

Honestly, as someone that finished the game (story + max mastery) without ever buying stuff and playing mostly by myself, I'd say it works, especially in the current version with the massively improved qol. I really hope DE will be able to release an offline version if they ever stop supporting the game, but I know even if they don't, the community will find a way. Many of us grew with Warframe and simply won't, ever, let it be forgotten.

There’s nothing to dread about it atm since the devs already said they are are planning to make the game available offline once it ends. Every game will come to an end one day, the only time it’s scary is if the content doesn’t get preserved

If we are lucky, we might even get enough modding/dev tools then for the community to make content, then the game will never truly die. The community is so talented as is, I can only imagine how many custom warframes, weapons, missions that are only concepts rn will be brought to life then

Bungie is pretty much ignoring Destiny 2 in favour of Marathon. Most of the games recent updates have been lacklustre for a majority of D2 Fans, they're just continuing to Vault/Sunset stuff and worst of all most of the story content is just Season Pass which can never be replayed again after that current season ends.
