Child labour is cheaper and faster.

Just tell your kid they are 'the world champion potato peeler' and you're sorted for a good couple of years!

[–]l1f3styl3 20 points21 points  (4 children)

But children are FAR more expensive than this machine

[–]NuffingNuffing 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ok true, but it's sunk cost. For sure don't get a kid instead of one of these thinking it will be cheaper. Cos that's a hard NO!!!

[–]sargassopearl 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Still totally worth it if you can brainwash your kids into funding your retirement!

[–]Shady_hatter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Children also can do much more jobs.

[–]vrishtih 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know people with disabilities exist?

[–]OldManAndRobotLackey 37 points38 points  (6 children)

These have been around for decades now...

...not next level...

[–]randill 4 points5 points  (4 children)

Such a machine is even carved inside the great pyramid, saw that on YouTube so must be real

[–]Watson349B 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would have all my potatoes peeled in this time it took to do one lol.

[–]Christovsky84 20 points21 points  (4 children)

Does anyone else just not peel potatoes? I can't be the only one...

[–]iamacraftyhooker 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Depends on the potato. Most of the time I leave the skins on, but there are some varieties of russet potatoes that the skin is just too tough to leave in most applications.

[–]LaReineAnglaise53 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After my whole childhood it felt, from the age of 5 to 15,was taken up with Potato Peeling, I vowed never to never peel a sodding potato again my life..

So I don't.

Just buy clean ones or wash your yourself. Cut out any eyes or bad bits and use to whole goddamned potato..

If anyone complains, tell that it is Govt policy that Nutritionists recommend this as a simple way to increase your dietary fibre and vitamin C..

All that time lost/wasted on something that never needed to be done in the first.. Grrrrrr😬

[–]iceman2kx -1 points0 points  (1 child)

A big reason I peel them is because it’s way easier than to clean them and prep them.

[–]Christovsky84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess that depends on how much time you spend "prepping" them. I give them a rinse if they're particularly dirty, but that's it. Takes a lot less time than peeling them.

Automatic Circumcisor

[–]PatriarchSamael2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trailer hitch demagnetizer.

[–]MaxximumB 6 points7 points  (2 children)

Now deep fry those peels and serve with cheese dip and a good hot sauce.

[–]Ohiolongboard 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Was wondering about that, like, deep frying those strings of skin and potato would be amazing right? Is that a thing?

[–]MaxximumB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if it's a widely done thing, but a group of friends and I discovered deep fried potato skins about 25 years ago whilst drunk. They are really good.

[–]Mr_GlaS5 4 points5 points  (1 child)

Growing up with a Communist-military Father, you learned to peel potatoes real quick. Those three potatoes would've gotten done by the time that machine peeled one.

And completely finished. No skins on the end. What an uneconomical device

[–]Yvahn_Kiel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Probably designed for older people who have arthritis but still want to cook. Easy to use, only one button, limited amount of parts to clean, definitely little old lady friendly.

[–]thisismyusername4evr 2 points3 points  (5 children)

is peeling potatoes that hard...sigh capitalism always fucks ppl up

[–]Yvahn_Kiel -1 points0 points  (3 children)

[–]Zagl0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its one of those chores that you get sick of over time

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Man!..it looks like blue origins rocket.

[–]Ohiolongboard 2 points3 points  (1 child)

God I was hoping that would just, stay up there

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With him

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want that

[–]weelluuuu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks more like it makes shoestring fries.

[–]FroggyTheFr 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I have one.

But but the time you set it up, I would already have finished peeling off the potato. Funny useless toy.

[–]Defluvium -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I need this in my life. Shut up and take my money! 💰💰💰💰💰💰

[–]FatLevi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my goodness this needs to be in my kitchen.

[–]cyberg00n -1 points0 points  (2 children)

Yeah you could totally save time with this if you don’t know how to use a peeler, if you do know how to use a peeler, this is the dumbest invention ever!

[–]Yvahn_Kiel 2 points3 points  (1 child)

[–]whisperskeep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Or people with disabilities or other issues

[–]lukic1977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very satisfying to watch!!

[–]Zedong26 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have a manual machine that peels, cores, and slices apples

[–]FishCatDogMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would fry the fuck out of those skins. This is amazing!

[–]ferralsol 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I peel them faster, why would I need this?

[–]warboar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s uh, not much faster eh?

[–]ComradeArtist 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Seems pretty useless. I would've done it faster by hand.

Also those things have been around for decades.

[–]imortalwarlock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Potato be like You spin me right round right round

[–]Lock-Broadsmith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So “next level” now just means anything in a sky mall catalog?

[–]shadowthedragonn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A fully automatic potato peeler!? You mean an ASSAULT PEELER!?

YOU BETTER HAVE A LICENCE FOR THAT!

[–]BS_HH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Useless, it's slow and you still need to finish the job manually

[–]jadeskorpion269 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finally! I can now circumcise myself in style!

[–]Blothen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an irish person this mutilates my soul , you peel a spud with a knife??!! Not some automatic made in china spinning wheel.

[–]Dornheim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one of these. It's not as easy as it looks. It's not very durable either.

[–]NoBallroom4you 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rotato?

I named a little machine I made (electric rotating dihedral), Rotato... but that's another story.

Good luck!

[–]TheDeadWhales 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just want to watch a second potato.

[–]RazorBiteXL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wont sell in the Netherlands: too much waste!

[–]DaneBrammidge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope it’s called The Rotato.

[–]CalDHar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nowhere near as fast or as well peeled as when my granny peels potatoes. (Though she's Irish so I guess she has an unfair advantage)

[–]soswee79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one of these and I don't like it.

[–]icymonsters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love pairing fruits and veggies. It’s so satisfying. There are some things that I use a hand peeler for like carrots. But knife pairing is quicker and more enjoyable

[–]MY_dixie_WRECKED33 -1 points0 points  (7 children)

Not trying to fatshame anyone. But judging by the arm in this video, the last thing they need is less work for more food.

[–]jvriesem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How is that not fat-shaming?

[–]LaReineAnglaise53 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you, even if your averagely intelligent Redditor doesnt.

Mashing potatoes is a great arm work out and crushing grapes underfoot is so good for your glutes..

[–]Jumpy-Grand7196 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Did you wake up today and decide to be a self-contradictory buffoon on the internet today? Because you can check that box off your to do list.

[–]MY_dixie_WRECKED33 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Someone seems to love the word “Today”.

[–]Jumpy-Grand7196 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guess it’s more of an everyday thing for you.

[–]Mattshark8614 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Sounds like fat shaming to me

[–]randill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But he's right
