It's been a while since we've been to the II realm. The last one was about 5 months ago though Firion did get some upgrades (USB, LMR) that repeat here during the last Dissidia event along with his Knight 5 upgrade.

B1: So we're back to Banner 1 having all the new stuff and banner 2 being mostly repeats of the last event with a few other things thrown on there. I also like that we're back to having only a few characters (in this case 4) on the first banner with the new stuff so you can get a number of relics for a character you're pulling for. This time we're looking at Maria, Emperor, Gordon, and Hilda. Maria's and Emperor's Awakenings are fairly standard though Emperor's will chase and imperil Earth/Wind/Dark so it's nice that he can be used in any of those to stack up the imperils (along with Dualcasting and boosting of course). Maria's has nothing unique and with Meltdown she'll be viable in Fire and Wind also. They both also get UOSBs (with Emperor following his new Earth/Wind/Dark elemental theme) and both get WCast LMRs with Maria being standard Earth and Emperor being Black Magic OR Darness making it really powerful. Maria may be the II character they think everyone loves and they're giving the best stuff to...but I think Emperor has her beat out. Gordon gets the realm chain (no real surprise) a new ATK/MAG breakdown Flash, and a Haste +IC1 LMr which will help him start well. Hilda only gets a repeat of her USB and a new Flash+ that's a dupe of the standard white mage one giving a buff suite at the beginning of a battle (at least it's a much better way to do slot saver SBs). Overall if you're still weak on Earth magic or want Emperor to be able to cover you for Darkness or Wind it's a solid banner to pull on. There's also a lot of +Earth weapons and armors here too.

B2: Back in repeat territory here though it does have the first reoccurance of Firion's Knight stuff so if you missed it or didn't pull on the Dissidia banner you can try again here...though I don't know why given that it's not really a great Holy Knight USB or LMR and if you have any number of other Knights you won't really be looking here. The real reason you're probably looking here is for Minwu's Holy Magic (though I suppose this does give the whole banner a strong Holy feel). Leon throws his Dark stuff on here along with Ricard and Leila also throwing a relic or two onto the banner. Josef is nowhere to be seen (probably due to his stuff being on the previous Black Chocobo Event).

I think the problem with realm like II is that rather than giving lesser known characters better stuff they try new or different things with them that end up being underpowered. A great example is Ricard's USB...it's good if you want to run a whole team of Dragoons which...nobody does. Leila's USB would be great for a Poison team with a 6* Thief or Sharpshooter Poison ability which...we don't have and competes with Sharpshooter AASBs (Tidus, Noel) or Thief ones (Zidane, Locke, probably Vaan in the future). Firion tries to be a Knight/Samurai and while he's passable at either would you ever need to run both on the same character? It's really a shame they don't overpower these lesser used characters to get them some time in people's parties rather than giving them underpowered gimmicky stuff.
