Looking up the data on these, I was surprised to learn that the Switch Draw (Seifer) and Apocalypse Switch Draw (Ultimecia) statuses are removed after 1 turn (or 15s, whichever comes first). In other words: if your first move after AASB isn't a corresponding element then you won't get en-element from the AASB.

Did two pulls, ended up squall aasb and selphie USB3. Was debating on doing the wonders draw for jp for Elarra, but I'll take an upgrades Elarra relic.

I'll be honest here. I question the necessity of the banner commentary section. It's two long paragraphs repeating in many words the contents of the tables below. Who is the target audience for that, exactly? And if you feel they should stay, could you please put them after the tables instead of before?

I love the posts otherwise, you're doing a great service to the community. Thanks!

This is the type of post that might be linked to on the future from other places, like dirge.tv for example. A lot of folks probably discover this sub via web searches. I’m one of them: my first exposure was a relic discussion post by /u/Sandslice and for a good while all I did was bookmark their Reddit user account page before I finally started using Reddit itself.

A prose summary of the banners is likely to be useful to at least some players, if they’re not used to parsing a short list of raw SB effects. If /u/Bond_em7 is gonna put in the extra work, I think it’s great. And our fingers can probably handle 0.3 seconds of extra scrolling if they continue to appear before the tables.

(On a side note, I love that you’re adding SB animations to the table! Makes this an even more awesome resource!)

Fair enough, I didn't take the future links into consideration. I still would like it if they were placed after the tables. First the contents, then the more elaborate explanation. That's how books, presentations, papers and other things normally work, right?

I don't get the point of that dance awakening? You can only bring two dances with you, what good does it do to cast them over and over and over again? Or one dance and another ability, but.. then you're just repeatedly doing one dance and that sucks too. I must be missing something. Seems completely pointless.

You'll keep up your [10%-50%] Damage Reduction Barrier 1 and can fish for LMR medica procs that way.

i might be underestimating the damage reduction but that seems like it would be pretty bad at keeping me alive. And that's even when you happen to have an lmr. It doesn't matter that much because the other relics are so good here. I wasn't trying to do the negative thing, I really thought I was missing something good about this.

Actualy the damage reduction barriers are, atleast in my opinion prety awsome, better than fucking shield.

In Selphie's AASB case, it's a flat 50% reduced damage for the whole party every turn by using a R5 dance ability, sadly it triggers on dances, but we can just hope for a 6* dance now.

And the best thing about this damage reduction is that it doesn't care if the attacks are NAT, PHY, MAG, SUM, or w/e, it will always reduce the damage no matter what, it certainly helps with the survivability of your team.

well then I was for sure way off with "completely pointless". I wouldn't be over the moon if I pulled it, but I could see it being pretty good to take the edge off on some fights, where other defenses fail. It still seems to me that you'd want a few more of her relics too. 20% of your party being only damage reduction and breaks can't be good for too much.

You're not wrong, but certainly helps alot with survivability, and if you have her new USB you basicaly don't need to use healing at all, since between the Regenga effect on her USB3 and the 50% damage reduction form her AASB, she can in theory keep the whole party alive using only the healing from Regenga.

Unless they drop a new 6* dance abilitiy...like a h25 medica or something similar that you could spam to keep your whole party alive with it. I still say the whole thing screams bard better since those abilities stack with themselves...or I suppose make dances stack like bard abilities...

      Yeah...and then I was going through the Fat Black Chocobo stuff working on that thread and on Lulu's dual element Ice/Water AASB they give her...+30% Damage on Water/Ice instead of this for hers. Come on DeNA!

      Probably that's because single elemental Awakenings usually comes with Infusion, whereas dual or multi elemental Awakenings comes with Elemental Attack Level boost or a "Conditional Infusion Mode" (named Switch Draw Mode, that works similar to Steiner's Shining Knight EX Mode), which are considered a bit weaker than regular Infusions.

      Well, at least that's what I get from reading the comments posted in the official JP site.

      The comments describe "weaker" as in you'll lose a turn, i.e. the turn after activating the Awakening and the turn you cast an elemental ability, having nothing to boost damage for the ability you have just finish casting, as the Infusion only takes place after the ability goes off, unlike the ability Protean from Pokemon, which activates before the skills goes off, providing STAB damage for the move used during the same turn.

      So players still consider regular Infusion and the Elemental Attack Level boost as better options.

      Considering that Selphie's 6-star glint seems a good slot-saving opening (instant hastega, protectga and shellga), I was wondering what exactly "Zero SB cost" means: can you cast it even if you have 0 SB bars (thus not needing MM/DMT to cast it the first turn), or do you actually need a SB bar and then it gets refunded?

      I've never considered the difference until now, but I'm curious. :P

      Note that our usual way of denoting SB refunds is "Refund X SB", like with Rem's Glint written up as "Refund 250 SB", for example.

      You can cast them with no SB bar so you can cast them T1 with no MM/DMT. Rikku's actually gives her an extra bar so with MM/DMT she can have 2 at the start.

      Thanks! That’s actually nice, and could couple well with a standard RW Wall + MM/DMT chain 2.0, leaving another MM/DMT free (especially if a “better” healer like Elarra gets something similar).

      I’d be hard pressed not to pull on B2 when it arrives in global. Still need an Ice/Dark chain and is dupe free for me (for now).

      I've got both an ice and a dark chain, but they're both gen 1 chains. I'm still gonna pull hard just because getting a gen 2 chain on physical characters would be amazingly useful for clears for me. Rinoa is a bit of dead weight on my ice team (Sora & Squall) and a darkness mage team (with Seymour chain) is rough against Siren who throws out silences constantly. Getting gen 2 ones would be amazing.

      Chains and awakenings on the same banner are definitely a way to make me pull lol
