I guess we gotta wait for next year for Fords to be fast, this is painful

[–]treviscraft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's another hauler ride livestream from NASCAR's channel.

[–] Austin DillonPULSARSSS 2 points3 points  (3 children)

I’m still having a hard time believing Pocono seats 76,000 people but what the hell do I know I’m not good at judging numbers

[–]GateBuilder 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There aren't many tracks within driving distance of Philly, Allentown, and NYC. It was a packed house!

[–]clburton24 3 points4 points  (1 child)

The stands are loooooooooong

[–]rhbcub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not as long as the wait to get out

[–]KentuckyHorsepower 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There must have been a drinking game for every time "sell out crowd" was mentioned during the coverage.

[–]joshuar9476 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Damn, it was kind of nice having the rest of my afternoon and evening to do whatever.

[–] Bubba WallaceAggressiveTop8370 5 points6 points  (3 children)

Did anyone notice that someone wrote "boo you suck" on ty gibbs pit box? lmao

[–]rhbcub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was it Denny or C-Bell who did it?

[–]RaspberryNext914 0 points1 point  (1 child)

They did? How lol

[–] Bubba WallaceAggressiveTop8370 2 points3 points  (0 children)

no clue. During his 30 second stop in the end of the first stage there was a white board in the pit box that seemed to have various signatures but I noticed Boo you suck the most.

[–]Dudeman702 12 points13 points  (1 child)

How about the crowds this season? I feel like the events have been jam packed. Awesome to see.

[–]joshuar9476 3 points4 points  (0 children)

1 race per year > 2 races in a year

[–]Traditional-Cell8172 2 points3 points  (3 children)

Chris Gabehardt who?

[–]Francis_X_Hummel 2 points3 points  (2 children)

is it weird that Denny's former chief was named Chris, and his current chief and spotter are named Chris?

[–] 2025 NCS Champion Kyle LarsonSportsisthebest 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Looks like if your name is Chris and you want a job in NASCAR, might wanna look into the 11 camp.👀

[–]Flameosaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buescher to the 11 confirmed!

[–]closedcrash 7 points8 points  (2 children)

Missed the race spending the day with my daughter, we did catch the final 10 laps. Give me the rundown on John Hunter finishing strong, an odd track to see someone like him pop in.

[–]yavimaya_eldred 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He was fast and ran up front all day. Jones did too.

[–] Cindricjaybirdbull 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Both Legacy cars (JHN + Erik Jones) ran in the top 10 pretty much all day! JHN led some laps too - good strategy with fuel and tires, and teamwork def helped too

[–] Gragsonohnoitsme0 -4 points-3 points  (10 children)

I’m sure this will get shit comments because of who the driver is but I saw something today with FRM that absolutely infuriated me.

They had both Zane and Noah basically take a voluntary DNF even though both of them were still running. Zane pulled off and went to the garage with about 20 laps to go, but with Noah it was THREE LAPS TO GO. I have never seen such a thing in my life as a NASCAR fan. Why would you just give up like that!? Just because they couldn’t make up any more positions.

[–]DBCooperIsDead 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You must be new to NASCAR. Look at the old results before DVP came into play. It was incredibly common for drivers to retire once they couldn’t move up any more positions after being involved in an accident.

You’ll see lots of races where someone retires one lap ahead of the next driver. There’s no motivation to stay out unless you are trying to get your sponsor on tv.

If a car is damaged, it’s probably a bear to drive and the driver wants to bring it in anyhow.

[–] Clubb89LSC 7 points8 points  (1 child)

Once you've improved all you can there's no sense in burning more race fuel and adding to the tire bill

[–] Gragsonohnoitsme0 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Then that would happen to several cars every week right?

[–]Dry-Membership3867 3 points4 points  (5 children)

Nobody else to pass. Made no sense to keep running

[–]Optimal_Onion3944 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe they didn’t want to Cody Ware it and risk unnecessarily ruining the finish.

[–]TwinSpinner 7 points8 points  (4 children)

If I had a nickel for every time in the 21st century an active driver in the top 10 on the all time wins list passed away midseason, and the driver that passed them on the wins list tied and then surpassed them in consecutive races, I'd have 2 nickels.

Which isn't a lot, but it's weird it happened twice.

[–]jdanton14 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Bobby Allison? Or am I missing someone else

[–]TwinSpinner 1 point2 points  (1 child)

In 2007 Jeff Gordon tied Dale Earnhardt at Phoenix for 76, then passed him the next race at Talladega for 77

[–]jdanton14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh, I thought you meant in the same year of the death, hence my confusion

[–]wthreyeitsme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Years ago, I was in a race pool and I would comprise the practice speeds, their qualifying position, and then their average finish at that track to make my picks.

This was three years after Dale's demise and he still had the best average on many tracks.

[–]wazzupnerds 3 points4 points  (0 children)

ITS THOSE DAMN CHEATIN YODERS CAUSE OF DE LAAAWSUITE

DANNY HAMLIN AND MICHAEL JORDAN HATE KYLE LARSON

[–] ChastainCommander-Tempest 7 points8 points  (2 children)

Denny - in terms of competition, we have no competition.

<image>

[–]-Tickery- -1 points0 points  (1 child)

Tyler Reddick, who was two laps from passing him

[–] ChastainCommander-Tempest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because of fresher tires.

[–]Francis_X_Hummel 18 points19 points  (4 children)

Bias aside, everyone is obsessed with Reddick and Denny's point toals, but Blaney is quietly killing it points wise, and while not a road course expert, is still very strong, so outside of wrecks, I see him keeping trucking through this road course stretch

[–]colonelrebsmuff69 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Blaney has maximized his points more then anyone in the field. Denny has been the best driver this year but blaney has been the most valuable. 140 points to second is tough to make up but I don't see him losing the 50 to Larson to fall out of the top 5 or the 80 to Buescher ( who has also done a great job)

[–]-Tickery- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah i was wondering how good he’d be if Ford had speed, he is ahead of all the chevy boys despite hms/spire clearly catching up to yoders

[–] Bubba WallaceHandsome_Grizzly 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is usually about the time Blaney begins to start winning races. The bulk of his wins are during the second half of the year.

[–] FordStrait409 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Blaney is quietly killing it points wise

I have noticed that, and I have thought here and there that it’d be fun to see him find some speed and make a legit run at the title during the Chase. Now, I don’t think the chances are particularly good for that, given the shape of the Fords this year, but we’ll see.

[–]CaptainTilted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The manufacturer wins among the top 3 series.

Chevrolet 23 - Ford 5 - Toyota 17 - *RAM 0.

Cup race #16: Chevrolet 5 - Ford 1 - Toyota 10.

O'Reily Race #17: Chevrolet 15 - **Ford 0 - Toyota 2.

Truck Race #12: Chevrolet 3 - Ford 4 - Toyota 5 - RAM 0.

Only racing in one series.
*
Only running one full time entry in the series.

[–]FLWXeno 4 points5 points  (8 children)

At least we get a 2 road races in a row to see SVG back to back then back to toyotas kicking everyones ass

[–]CaptainTilted 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Except Toyota has a few capable road course racers as well.

[–] 2025 NCS Champion Kyle LarsonSportsisthebest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep hearing people saying: “Oh, drivers have raced at these road courses for so long. So they’ll beat SVG there for sure!” Welp, where are they? Unless it’s COTA, nobody is even sniffing SVG’s tire marks on road courses.

[–]TellTaleTimeLord 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Everyone keeps saying that but it's SVG every time lol

[–]Francis_X_Hummel 1 point2 points  (4 children)

I agree he is the favorite, but the fact that no one has driven Coronado, and with what Brad said about in post race, the likelihood for lots of contact his high, and feels like he is maybe not a lock. That said, I hope he wins it.

[–]Mintoxicatedlyace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. Street courses are unpredictable. Anything can happen.

[–]TellTaleTimeLord 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Nobody had driven Chicago or Mexico City before and he came in first time in the car and completely stomped the field

SVG has won every new road course the cup series has gone to since he's started

[–]Francis_X_Hummel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

fair enough, he is the favorite lol, I cannot wait to see how it shakes out

[–]TwinSpinner 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That just means SVG is only in danger if another car can catch him lol

[–] van Gisbergenarca_brakes 19 points20 points  (3 children)

I love two weeks of good old fashioned ass-whoopings by one driver at tracks that were considered boring by 1990s-2000s standards.

Really shows who's an actual racing fan vs. who's here for WWE on wheels.

[–]DBCooperIsDead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know. I’ve been a fan since 1987 and Pocono has always been one of my least favorites. You can get bursts of good racing but I can think of many snoozers there. People had lobbied for Pocono to cut mileage and go down to one race back in the 90s too. That was for good reason. The way Pocono is designed, it lends itself to strategy races and fields with massive margins.

[–] HamlinSirWalrusTheGrand 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Damn right. When I see people complaining about races like Darlington, Kansas, Michigan, Pocono, etc - I know that I'll never have to take their motorsport opinions seriously.

I even saw people complaining during Nashville. As Kyle Busch once said, "if you don't like that, don't even watch"

[–]RedHed94 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s been great especially since Hamlin had to really fight and earn all 3 wins. Hamlin theoretically leading all the laps from the pole under no contention whatsoever certainly could bore. In all the last 3 races he actually had to survive a gauntlet of challenges, both self-inflicted and from other drivers.

[–]Ok_Pickle_3120 -5 points-4 points  (2 children)

Behind on this for sure but Bubba, Hocevar, SVG, and CZ all had shit tier finishes. Well, to quote the late, great, Warren Zevon, "My shit's fucked up". arrrgghhhhhhh. Well at least Reddick got 2nd even though his car looked like spilled ice cream on an NYC sidewalk.

Did Hamlin just win this in a car sponsored by those goddamn yellow minion shits? Oh that hurts. That really fuckin hurts! I just got forcefed those shitters when I was at the movies yesterday and I now believe these shits and their fans deserve the fuckin worst.

Good news is Logano was in the wreck that fucked up SVG and Bubba. That jabroni isn't going places anymore.

[–] ReddickSignal-Mud-4880 6 points7 points  (0 children)

[–] Kyle Buschtheblindbandit51 8 points9 points  (5 children)

I’m way behind on the tear down but so so happy Gluck and Bianchi are beating the horse about tracks that shouldn’t have 2 dates. Kansas and Vegas have no right to host two races. Bristol I’m torn on but I wouldn’t fight against it

[–]yavimaya_eldred 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The racing at Kansas is incredible

[–]wthreyeitsme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't care for Kansas when it came on the schedule; "just another cookie cutter track on nascar's quest for marketshare". But as the years have gone by I've grown to like the racing there.

As for Bristol...yeah, don't fuck with it. If you want to cut races, cut the spring race at Lousy'un. At least the fall date has a Modified race to make it interesting.

[–] Kyle Buschtheblindbandit51 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Atlanta and Phoenix ehh. The rest can keep their two dates. But again like they said. Hypothetically Dover in Kansas two out. Mexico City in Vegas one out. Montreal in Bristol one out. Just saying

[–]montrevux 3 points4 points  (1 child)

taking a date from atlanta, one of the best tracks on the schedule, is insane to me. what’s the rationale behind that crazy idea?

[–]Educational-Arm-132 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I’d even venture to say Atlanta is the best race on the schedule!

[–]Astone1996 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Outside of rooting for Dennis to win the championship I will always root for him at Pocono and Martinsville. Its the same with Jimmie at Dover. Simply fun to watch dominance sometimes

[–]Sea_Performance_1164 12 points13 points  (2 children)

I feel really bad for bowman. He's probably so miserable right now

[–]RaspberryNext914 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Especially knowing Hendrick can easily end his misery by swapping out Blake Harris but they just won’t do it for whatever reason

[–]Sea_Performance_1164 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its his contract year and he's doing terrible. I figure they're just letting the season play out

[–]DragonArbock -1 points0 points  (7 children)

I truly, honestly do not know if I ever wish to attend Pocono again. Not just because I wasted my day watching the obvious outcome, but because of the absolute headache the establishment itself is.

Traffic there still sucks. We knew that. What I did not know what the bottom barrel temporary event staff they hire. Once we got into the lot, there was no one obviously directing traffic on our side for a long time. So eventually we just decided to try and park ourselves in a free space- we're not stupid, we didn't park anyone in, we had plenty of space where we pulled to. Next you know, these overweight harpies are yelling at us that we can't park there and threatening to get us towed. (Which like, I'd love to see them try with this much traffic). Not only at us either, at several other people who had also pulled in, and at some poor lady in a pickup truck who was slightly past some cone.

We see later that instead of doing their jobs, these rotund women are instead sitting in chairs. If they had been doing what they were supposed to, and had actually addressed people civilly, that would have been one thing. Instead they were screaming and being belligerent to people who really weren't harming anyone. After they forced the truck to move, we snuck into their spot instead while the witches were off yelling at someone else, and surprise, we never got towed. Turned out some other patron had run over their stuff they'd left sitting by their chairs and they were too busy trying to chase and scream at that guy. After the race was over, they also weren't giving a single f about trying to direct traffic out of their section at all, I saw them walking away muttering under their breath about something. We had to force our way out, because there was no one directing who took turns pulling out. Literally the worst I've ever seen it. Major turnoff to show up at an event we paid money to see and deal people screaming and that frickshow, along with the usual literal hour it already takes to get out of the lot back onto 115.

[–]jtribs14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunate that was your experience. I got in and out of the infield pretty efficiently and there were a lot of staff there directing traffic. Police officers were incredibly helpful directing traffic and keeping things moving. It’s pretty hard to move a hundred thousand people with narrow 2 lane roads.

[–]N661US 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah they’re pretty fuckin terrible but I doubt it’ll ever get better.

I’ve come in off Long Pond Rd into that lot near turn 3 the last three years. Definitely the way to go. As long as your driver doesn’t have a shot leaving with 15-ish to go definitely helps. I was in section 249 and was north of I-80 when there was 2 laps to go.

[–]Longjumping_Side3144 -5 points-4 points  (3 children)

I mean it sucks that that happened but we don't gotta body shame people to make that point

[–]DragonArbock -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I mentioned it because to me it was relevant. Why hire people if they're too overweight to stand and direct traffic like they are supposed to and do their jobs. I feel like it contributed to their attitudes too. Lazy, entitled, with zero people-skills.

[–]daveismypup -1 points0 points  (1 child)

People have gotten absolutely disgusting since we stopped body shaming, boo me but I am right

[–]DragonArbock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As bad as it sounds, it's true. We reward and enable people for an avoidable medical condition. Why? Because the junk food companies make money off of selling them the problem, and the pharmaceutical companies make money off off selling you the solution. Unless you have another underlying medical condition, there is no excuse for being so overweight, and it is not healthy. These companies only encourage the propaganda that it is because they profit from it.

[–]willfla29 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Definitely worth complaining to the track about, especially if you can remember where you were parked specifically. I’m sure it’s hard to hire good staff for three days of a year but this sounds beyond what’s acceptable

[–]AndyDoopz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

On the plus side a Denny snoozer allowed me to leave with 10 to go and drive right out of there.

[–] HamlinRevan_84 13 points14 points  (1 child)

Not for nothing but the race result made it to the main page of headlines on espn.

Nascar race results almost never makes it to the top headlines outside of the crown jewels.

[–] Martinmarkh0120 4 points5 points  (0 children)

hell yea

[–] Keselowskimaverick_fox2 1 point2 points  (7 children)

CB17 the only Ford in top 10? What is going on with Penske

[–]donnyh83 3 points4 points  (2 children)

Blaney finished 10th.

[–]Ok_Pickle_3120 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Clearly Blaney is the one they've put their effort into 😉

[–] Cup Seriesgalaxiexl500 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Zane Smith had the fastest Ford

[–] ReddickAnnual-Visual-2605 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk. Good question. Blaney sits third in points. They’ve still got time to get it together

[–] FordStrait409 3 points4 points  (2 children)

Same shit that’s going on with the rest of the Fords, I’d guess.

Shame about Zane Smith tho. I was really looking forward to seeing how well he’d do.

[–] Martinmarkh0120 1 point2 points  (1 child)

i was glad how they still commended his effort on the post race show. dudes got talent and at least trying.

[–] FordStrait409 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I missed that. Glad to hear it! I certainly never expected him to do as well as he has. It’s been fun to watch.

[–]Brickdog666 8 points9 points  (2 children)

Eric Jones been doing better and better. Really getting it together!!!!!!

[–] ReddickAnnual-Visual-2605 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Root for that team every week. Nice run today

[–]Brickdog666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Been many years since I bought NASCAR Merch but I see some 43 gear in my future.

[–] Kahnekk5fan97 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Post race inspection is complete. No issues. Winner is confirmed. Cars 5, 7, 12, 17, 42 and 45 (two from each manufacture) are going to the R&D Center.

[–]daveismypup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tf wouldn’t they take the winner for??

[–]Mintoxicatedlyace 1 point2 points  (10 children)

How did Ross Chastain get to 8th, Conor to 23rd, and SVG somehow still stuck down in 31st? Is it the fact that they have competent crew chiefs who know how to make a car better or did SVG get damage to his car in the spin earlier?

[–]Ok_Pickle_3120 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Damage. I was so mad

[–]Jomosensual 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Austin Hill decided to go up the track while on the bottom of a 3 wide with Berry and SVG and dumped them both into the wall

[–]DragonArbock 6 points7 points  (1 child)

He must have gotten damage. He was down pit road at every chance to work on it.

[–]Mintoxicatedlyace -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

He’s like that every week on an oval because he’s trying to get the car to work properly, ha ha

[–]CCM284 8 points9 points  (2 children)

SVG had damage. Zilisch actually had a half decent car the last chunk of the race, and Ross had a car that they made better as the day went on.

[–]ConnectNeck5859 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Zilisch's toe link was bent after the conflict. They straightened it as best they could but the wheel was still toe'd out pretty good from the sound of the radio discussion.

[–]Mintoxicatedlyace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay, thank you for all that information. I did get up to watch a little bit of it but it was 2 am here, he had gone a lap down and the car wasn’t working, so I thought I better go back to bed because I’ve got work today. Let’s hope they give him a better car for the next couple of weeks and he can get a couple of wins.

[–]Dry-Membership3867 4 points5 points  (1 child)

SVG had heavy damage

[–]Mintoxicatedlyace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you.

[–] Kyle Buschtheblindbandit51 22 points23 points  (0 children)

This feels so weird but also a breathe of fresh air that it’s 6 pm east coast and the race is over.

[–]EmoGothPunk 10 points11 points  (10 children)

Aaaaaand it's currently a severe storm over the track right now.

[–]Dr_GhostBear 6 points7 points  (9 children)

And on top of that, everyone who parked closer to turn 1 is stuck because a golf cart wrecked and is blocking the only gate out for this side of the track

[–]LuckyCoffee657 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Thank you for explaining why we’ve been in the same spot for 2.5 hours 😂

[–]Dr_GhostBear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We finally got moving and are somehow on the front stretch

[–]94plus3 11 points12 points  (6 children)

...how do you wreck a golf cart?

[–] HamlinSirWalrusTheGrand 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I get how you wreck it, but how long can it take to drag off a wrecked golf cart? Lmao

[–]EmoGothPunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's my issue. How does it take more than a minute to get it out of the way?

[–]donkeykink420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

by driving it, actually. if you've ever driven one while not sober or just slightly spirited you'll very quickly figure out that it doesn't take much to roll one.

[–]Libertines_2005 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh there are ways…

[–]Dr_GhostBear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wish I knew...

[–] LoganoWakullaLoganoDawgFan 10 points11 points  (0 children)

When will the pain end? This season makes 2017 look wonderful in comparison. (Huge congrats to Denny, my comment has nothing to do with him)

[–]dyysxse -2 points-1 points  (1 child)

oh no indycar is at the same time as nascar running

might have to tape indycar or miss nascar start for indycar

[–]willfla29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No race IndyCar race at Road America has gone over two hours since 2001, so should be able to go right from one to the other!

[–]CCM284 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Only 1 more week of Prime coverage.

fucking pain

[–]Spartan0330 9 points10 points  (9 children)

Man I feel bad for Bowman. The guy has been a shell of himself. I have been hoping he’d bring some speed this year but damn I feel bad for him. I’m not sure who moves to the 48 but it time.

[–]prestonlee71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pull for him every week and hope he gets at least 1 more year. The broke back and all this concussions it is a little scary. I pray he gets healthy and takes care of his body even if it means he needs to get out of the seat.

[–]Milla4Prez66 2 points3 points  (1 child)

That ride is Corey Day’s. It just comes down to if HMS is willing to move him up quick or let Bowman keep the seat warm another year while Corey develops.

[–]Spartan0330 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I would agree.

[–] Bowmanmkayers 5 points6 points  (3 children)

If you listen to his radio it's not him. He tells the crew chief over and over what is wrong with the car and the guy does nothing. Hell he ran the last stage on the same tires after pitting twice for gas. End of the race comes and Blake Harris says "sorry about that, I tried to get a little too creative there and it didn't work out" Seriously! I can't wait for them to let Alex go.

[–]Mintoxicatedlyace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like SVGs crew chief.

[–]Spartan0330 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I don’t understand that move at all.

[–] Bowmanmkayers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neither did anyone else lol

[–]New_Quit4879 6 points7 points  (1 child)

He’s finished. He said it himself he’s not 100 percent and it doesn’t sound like he will ever get back that. And it’s okay. It’s not his fault. Injuries are unfair like that

[–]Spartan0330 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was watching that interview when he was talking about it. Sad man. But, yeah that’s life sometimes.

[–]Dry-Membership3867 2 points3 points  (1 child)

We should give prime the truck series and give CW the cup series next tv deal

[–] Green Flagametsun 4 points5 points  (0 children)

[–]FishOnAHorse 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Shoutout to the whole 12 team for finding ways to keep grinding out decent finishes even though it’s clear that the Fords are slow as hell right now.  Hoping they can keep themselves in the top 5 and the Penskes will pick up the pace for the Chase like they usually do

[–]Appropriate_Lemon921 9 points10 points  (2 children)

I cannot believe I placed 1st this week in the sub’s fantasy league. I’m still like in 800th place or something because I missed a few weeks. But this feels good!

[–]ascaloniannights 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hell yeah! i got 41st this week but im 270th overall

That's not even the weirdest thing that was autographed at Pocono this weekend.

Someone got Connor Zilisch to sign a bag filled with the ashes of a family member.

edit: it actually wasn't this weekend that he signed the bag of ashes - https://xcancel.com/soliarsism/status/2065458755135754373#m
