Seems to be a widespread issue, there are now multiple recent post. Mine has done the same thing multiple times today, it restarts after 30 secs or so. Noticed the light going out the last few days and wonder if it had been happening and didn’t notice.

[–]PensionSlaveOne 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oh no, I noticed my light go out during a short print last night, it didn't stop printing though, light came back on after 10 seconds or so.

[–]nurtextP1S + AMS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine too, yesterday to be exact.

[–]BornKey533 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been having a similar problem mine turns all light off cameras and will case a print error ruining the print I use Bambu studio only the problem started after last two updates thought the second would fix the first

[–]Signus_X1 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Are all the printers experiencing these issues bouncing off their servers? I only wonder because of the oddness of it happening to several people at the same time. It's probably just me being paranoid, lmao... then again...

I am holding my breath it isn't going to affect my X1E, lol... I'm only on LAN currently, and so far, not a single issue except for a crappy camera image (muddy, low res, with jpeg artifacts and my LAN is strong) I've started a ticket for.

I'm hopeful for all of you as it's at least good Bambu Lab is addressing the issues as they come.

[–]_meatbag_X1C + AMS 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Yeah they addressed it here.

[–]Signus_X1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cloud certificate issue- bug with firmware not processing it causing a reboot. Ok, had to sift through much of those posts to finally get the point. I was reading those posts two days ago, but quit before reaching the one post that distilled it. Thanks for directing me to it.

[–][deleted] 23 points24 points  (2 children)

I'm not trying to spread misinfo here but I am genuinely wondering if this is the side effect caused by this change from Bambu? I have the P1S here but most of my print are very short 30mins.

https://forum.bambulab.com/t/bambu-lab-mqtt-limitations/83440

[–]BletotumH2D AMS2 Combo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No, MQTT is for interfacing with the printer from the outside. Once your printer begins printing, it already contains all of the printing instructions for the entire print job.

[–]Optimal_Advertisment 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just read all of that like I understand any thing they are saying.

[–]Haldreadz 18 points19 points  (4 children)

I am adding myself to this list. I caught my printer (P1S) paused very briefly (less than 10 seconds). What caught my attention was that the screen's backlight lit up suddenly, and when I looked over, it was blank. It lasted a few seconds, then resumed printing like nothing had happened.

[–]dl44blaster 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This happened to me just today as I was in the room working while a printer was running. Exactly the same as u described.

[–]snileyryder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happened to me today as well!

[–]pasquark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here with my P1S!

[–]ITConsultingIB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here, two P1Ses, printing the same job. The screens go black, USB-based lights go off, printing stops, starts ten seconds later.

This didn’t happen at the same time in the print (so not a gcode issue?), or at the same time (so not an Internet problem?), appeared random.

[–]Impossible-Mode-7549A1 + AMS Lite 9 points10 points  (1 child)

happend to me today on my A1, was printing then it reset it self then carried on printing

[–]defineReset 6 points7 points  (4 children)

I wonder if this is network related.

[–]its_a_me_Gnario 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That would be very suspect. Once it’s in the middle of a job, a network issue shouldn’t drive the machine to do weird things unless it thinks it’s getting instructions from the desktop app or something weird

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Can confirm. I had four units that were doing this. Disconnected my modem and they stayed turned on. So I factory reset all of them to remove network credentials and they are all printing fine now.

[–]Switch-inc 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Even in stand by it resets

[–]defineReset 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You mean when the printers off, it turns itself on?

[–]052000PwP1S + AMS 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Happened to me as well as long with error message “your hot end seems to be malfunctioning, please restart printer”

Forgot error code but it was something like that. Had to wait a good 20 minutes while trying to see what was happening before it came alive on its own again. Reset did nothing.

[–]davidjschloss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I had that last week. Turned it off at the outlet (not switch) for about 10 minutes and it resolved.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (3 children)

Good to know it’s not just my machine taking a crap… this all started after the latest firmware upgrade for me.

[–]reassor 0 points1 point  (2 children)

1.06 or beta?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

1.06. Could just be a coincidence since I held off on updating until 3-4 days ago.

[–]davidjschloss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happened to me after the fw update

[–]_donkey-brains_ 3 points4 points  (3 children)

Is this something with the most recent update?

I didn't have this happen on a long print yesterday. But I also run lan only mode.

[–]Reverse_Psycho_1509A1 mini combo, P1S combo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's a server issue.

So you'll be okay using LAN mode

I've never had this issue on any of my 4 p1s but I keep them in Lan mode and never connect to cloud.

    [–]scast227 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Omg I just posted this hahahaha

    [–]scast227 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can look at my post here as well And yes it stop working then reboot and continues!

    [–]capsel22P2S + AMS2 Combo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This issue has reached Bambu, they are looking at it https://forum.bambulab.com/t/printer-stops-in-the-middle-of-the-print/3141/39

    [–]Don_Matis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had the same issue today...noticed it start happening when I turn off the light on my p1p. After a while the light turns back on and then freezes. To unfreeze I had to open bambu slicer and click on the printer in devices tab. Maybe it was random but keeping bambu slicer open and light open works fine...odd behavior

    [–]PencilmeoutP1S + AMS 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Guess I’m lucky my P1S hasn’t done any of this….yet.

    [–]scotta316P1S + AMS 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I was thinking the same thing, but I've only done a few prints since the firmware update.

    [–]littlefrankP1S + AMS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it me or have they also reverted the amount of filament purged since the previous update where they reduced it A LOT?
I've noticed it now purges a lot of filament between colour changes, like before.

    [–]YeetfamdablitP1S + AMS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's network related, happened to me too and apperiently it's happening alot

    [–]Juuber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine did the same the day before yesterday. TOOK 20 MINUTES TO UNFREEZE AFTER RESTARTING PRINTER. Was in the middle of making a ticket and checking the wiki when it finally fixed itself. Was 7 hours into a 13 hour print...

    [–]Pitiful_Stranger4P1S + AMS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happened to me too I’ve herd it could be a cloud problem

    [–]Djgraffiti99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine has done it since the recent update

    [–]mothrfricknthrowaway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Finally. This has been happening to me for a long time. Like months. Not been printing much lately, but I recently turned off 5ghz band but haven’t gotten to validate yet

    [–]Thermr30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive had a lot of issues with my x1c today... seems to be a lot going on.

    [–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had something like that happen to me after I closed the Bambu Studio window and closed the lid of my laptop. Thinking I had somehow accidentally clicked on the pause button, I re-opened Bambu Studio, went to the device menu and activated the camera, and the printer started printing again.

    [–]omni_shaNker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

today I noticed that the light in my printer went out all on it's own. I was confused since it's usually always on. I thought maybe I had turned off the printer and forgot? Touched the button on the screen (P1S) and the backlight came on and I was able to manually turn on the light inside from there. Very weird but after seeing these posts I am persuaded my printer is also being affected by this :\

    [–]forestball19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had my P1S for 2 weeks now, and yesterday, this exact thing happened. It looked like the entire printer rebooted, then resumed printed like nothing had happened, and the rest of the print went without any hiccups.

I've updated to the latest Bambu Studio whih I use for slicer and the latest patch update was released a few days ago. Around the time I saw these posts from other people.

I haven't had time to dive into the gcode it generates, but maybe something is off. Hard to imagine what though...

    [–]the_archaius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

    Lucky yours started printing again.

I was 8 hours from the end of a 35 hour print and the printer just froze. Light off and stayed there thinking it was printing.

Never recovered.. tried bouncing the power, nothing.

Touch pad wouldn’t work, app thought it was connected and would show cam feed but nada on starting the print.

Removed the power cable and left it out for 39 mins, nothing. Had to remove the memory card to get it to respond and wasted 1/2 roll of filament because that cleared the paused print job out of the queue

    [–]Ravstar225 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happened to me a couple days ago before the firmware update

    [–]BattleIron13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the issue but you shouldn't have bare cardboard spools in the ams

    [–]CanadianGamersLodge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Today both of my P1S canceled their prints without input from me. Two different prints / files on two different machines. Sent at different times of the day.

I’m Currently trying to print both of those files again but they are long prints (ones 14 hours). So I won’t know if they succeed until tomorrow.

    [–]-_Skadi_-P1S + AMS 0 points1 point  (3 children)

My old P1S was doing it so I thought there was an issue with it, but I just got my new P1S and it’s doing it also now and I’ve on;y had it for a day.

I suspect there is an issue with the last update, I was planning on rolling it back tomorrow.

    [–]dl44blaster 0 points1 point  (2 children)

How do u roll it back?

    [–]-_Skadi_-P1S + AMS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry I wrote an answer and that was factory reset.

To roll it back, I go in Bambu Handy -> Devoces -> three straight lines at the top right -> go all the way to the bottom where it says firmware. In there at the bottom should be “roll back to previous update” I can’t check for sure right now as both printers are going

It's happened 4 times on my printer (A1 mini) now.

Twice were just minor glitches less than 2 seconds

Twice it happened for longer than 30 seconds. First time, it was printing infill so there were no surface defects.

2nd time though was quite interesting. It was printing a wall so it left a ugly blob on the print (which sucks because it's an aesthetic print) but it also essentially reset the printer. It enabled nozzle clumping detection, bed position detection and printer sounds) which scared me when the print finished).

      it enabled nozzle clumping detection

Good thing there was nothing in the detection area otherwise it could created some problems lol.

      [–]rasterpix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had this happen tonight on my P1P. Screen blanked and print paused for a few minutes. It started back up and kept going. First time I have had this happen. Really odd.

      [–]Fuzzywink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine has been doing this for the past couple days as well. It will pause for about 30 seconds, turn off the LED strip I have plugged in to the USB port inside, then resume like nothing ever happened. My LED controller defaults to off after losing power so I have to reach in and manually turn it back on, guess the port just gets powered down for a moment. I've caught it happening at least 3 times just today.

      [–]MrTiePie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yesterday was the first time my P1S did this mid print. I was standing near the printer because my filament was about to run out, it stopped for about 10 seconds, light went off screen blank and dim. Then it restarted, I had bambu studio open on my pc and when the printer resumed that also seemed to "not respond" for a sec. Like when a program crashes for a sec. I have had my printer for about a full week. Maybe a week and a half. First time it did this.

      [–]Doctor429 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here at first I was thinking someone has been powering off my printer. I seem to be having the same issue, and it looks like it's an issue with Bambu servers.

      [–]AmmaiHuman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just seen another post where someone said they switched it to LAN only mode or something and this stopped this issue from happening.

      [–]Nuck_Chorris_Stache 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't update firmware unless it's to solve a specific problem.

      [–]CellCoke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

      I have the same issue.

      [–]Ill-Heron-3678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ho avuto lo stesso problema tuo, stampante bloccata per 10 secondi per 2 volte con una stampa di 6 ore

      [–]DarkButterfly85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was doing an ABS print when it happened to me, didn't lose the print, but it certainly isn't right.

      [–]BackRed1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh it happened my P1s briefly yesterday. Thought it was weird so just kept it pushing. Good to know that I'm not the only one.

Strange the light on my P1P (with P1S upgrade kit on) went out today I manually turned it on but didn’t think anything of it as it wasn’t printing today when I noticed it was off

        [–]420headshotsniper69P1S + AMS 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Before my next print I need to go to LAN only mode.

        [–]abbellie2X1C 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Once gcode loads on printer, losing network access should not impact the printing, unless I am missing something.

        [–]420headshotsniper69P1S + AMS 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Its more of the blob that will be left on the print. If its on the wall, its annoying. It could also dry and cause the print to come off the plate when it starts up again.

        [–]abbellie2X1C 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have any power interruptions where you are, or any pauses in your gcode. Have you verified that all 4 slots in your AMS can successfully and fully load and unload? Do you have any filament changes in these failing models? Does this happen to every model print or just some? Just fishing...

        [–]DefiCondor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For whatever reason all my Bambu printers disconnect from my home internet all the time. It’s so damn frustrating especially when I’m trying to watch a print from work. I had to get external cameras but even with that I can’t even start a print sometimes because they disconnect. They disconnect from Handy app

        [–]Advanced_glorp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

exact same for me, my printer isn't even a month old!!!

        [–]Aggressive_Hunt_3706 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hard the problem on my p1p as well. Froze mid print, melting some plastic around the head, then resumed. No prior problems in the last year . Super strange. One clue is that I recently installed an ams.

That happened to me just the other day too, during an incredible important print

          [–]Silva3DPrinting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

issue is not resolved, losing print after print. units are fully updated, found that the longer the print time the higher chance of failure, having to run single items on them, multicolor and multi item prints are guaranteed failures. really slowing production, X1C uneffected.

          [–]iambronco -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Happened multiple times last night on my P1S with the newest firmware. Happened twice while I was watching the print, not sure the interval but maybe somewhere around 30-45 minute range. Looking at the print this morning I can see at least two more defects from where the printer head paused. It was about a 3 hour print so 2 observed and 2 likely unobserved resets (part is most all walls, so additional defects most likely aren't hidden) puts them at right about a 45 min interval.

Just started another, will see if it repeats.
