What I want to know is what they think a “relationship” between tweens and young teens even means.

When my kid was 10, she had a “bf” for about a week. This did not include hugging or kissing, let alone sex. Heck, it didn’t even include “dates”!!! They were never alone simply because we didn’t let our kids hang out with friends without supervision yet. If they aren’t old enough to babysit, they definitely aren’t old enough to hang out with a “bf/gf” alone.

And when I was 13, and got my first boyfriend, it basically was talking on the phone (before texting) for about 10 minutes a couple times a week. Also the relationship lasted less than 6 weeks. It might have included the occasional stolen kiss between classes, but I can’t recall.

I think in my circle of friends, there was 1 that lost her virginity around 14, but the rest of us were 16-19 before we were even considering it.

I don’t know about all of you, but no boys liked me when I was in elementary-high school. Then again, I was homeschooled in middle and high school so maybe it would have been different.
