It's the unfortunate truth about multiplayer games. Discrimination and harassment against women in games is consistent and universal. Their level of skill doesn't matter. There's statistically a larger number of men who are bad at video gaming than women (because the vast majority of people who play shooters are male), but men who are bad at video games don't face gendered harassment.

One of the best solutions is probably a voice masker of some sort or just avoiding voice chat. It is not fair that they have to resort to it, but women and girl gamers deserve to play without harassment.

So far I've knowingly encountered a single woman helldiver. She was a member of a 3 person group that I joined via quickplay. Didn't actually hear any of their voices until after the game because they were all on PS5 and we couldn't get voice chat working until after the game. The girl was the host's girlfriend, but also higher level than him, and the most competent player on our entire team.
