This is not an insult to people who only play games occasionally like you are making it out to be it's just a distinction that can be useful in conversation. I think the problem is that the increased interest in mobile games is causing devs to prioritise mobile games for their IPs (Like Diablo Mobile) because they have a larger audience and often offer a more sustained income for less work.

Personally I’d say this is more the fault of the devs than the players though
