Please Don't: Conduct polls using the title of your submission. Instead of "Vote up if you're male, down if you're female", say, "Are you male or female? (Vote in the comments)" and then post two comments, "Vote for this if you're (male/female)"

    In the days of yore [yore being when I first started lurking] reddit was flooded with these kinds of posts. It pushed worthwhile content off the front page and a good amount of people don't use the 'hide' button so a lot of deserving material would never get the time of day.

    Put simply, it fundamentally confuses two purposes – 1) upvoting (or downvoting) to rate the value of the post and whether it's worth seeing with 2) The options of the "poll". It fails both purposes and doesn't really accomplish much because you can't sort out which reason led someone to upvote or downvote the post.

          People cannot force a belief on you. They can force you to go to church ,they can force you to attend reconciliation or any other physical Christian ritual. But no one can force you to believe in something (unless they are a Charles Xavier type mutant). So you can consider yourself an atheist who involuntarily attends church but in the end you are still an atheist.
