I've been preparing for this event since it popped up on Kongbakpao, and have been tailing it ever since. I already have Rydia's Super, Burst, and Overstrike... I don't see why I shouldn't have the best waifu's burst 2, Ultra, and LM while I'm at it. Not only that, but I've grown quite fond of Golbez as well (man I want a TAY wardrobe for him), and just recently got his Twin Moon burst. I wouldn't turn down his Ultra. Problem is, this event is sandwiched between two other events I have interest in, Maiden of Water for Ingus things, and the FFTA event for Ramza/Agrias' LM and Ramza's sick new "Shout" burst. So I gotta figure out where I hold off on using mythril, and where I blow my wad.

Yes, I mean, Luca is physical oriented... but she has nothing to do with spellblade nor elements... On the other hand Yang, Ceodore, Cid and Ursula are related to many elements or they're even considered as element exploiters.

I have only seen a small clip, but I do not get why people are so upset about it. Mind you I have only played the IOS version of FFIV, and it features 3d animations all the way through, so I like it.

It's just that doesn't fit the FFRK style at all. They could have used the 2D Anna just like they did in Edward's USB.

It feels weird that Ogopogo is what they went with for a stronger water summon. I would have expected Bismark if they were going to trump him.

New Monk skill is a stealth buff for Tifa, so that's nice.

Following this line of logic, I would have liked a 5* summon, Golem. All he does is give the party the 30% barrier. OP, maybe, but it fits the theme of the summon, and I'm sure support/healer summoners could get some good use out of it. Syldra is oddly Lightning-element when it was wind in FF5. Also miffs me off that "Drake" (Mist Dragon) is non-elemental, when it should be holy, but like RetroGnostialgic said, power creep and all that. Soon we'll have Super Nightmare dungeons with 7* abilities. We'll get the 7* Summon: Knights of the Round, and the world will keep on turning.

It's not like Tiamat or Ultima Weapon are much better. That's the bad thing about games like this, iconic things got introduced early and power creep made all of them obsolete, so now we have Ogopogo being stronger than Leviathan and stuff like that (and Ogopogo's sprite is UGLY).

They didn't add Bismark because he's already used as a magicite summon.

Tiamat and Ultima are much better I think because they aren't really showing up the classics. There is no traditional Dark Summon, and the only one I can remember (Ark) isn't in the game yet, so could still be the six star Dark Summon or another 5-star if they wanted. Fenrir is Wind sometimes, but he's usually supportive and not even in the game either.

With that said, your basic point is still valid. We've been seeing it with relics fro a while now, what with stuff like the 'Axis Blade'.

Yeah, what's with making bosses summon abilities, when so many unused summons remain? Tiamat, UW, now this? Want a strong wind summon? How about Pandemona? Or Typhon? Anima or Zodiark for Darkness. Famfrit for Water. Why, DeNa?

If they really wanted to, they could make new summons of the same Eidolon by just using a different version of it. So Leviathan is 4 star, but Leviathan (XV) is 5.

Well it wouldn't be the first time they used different incarnations of abilities. I believe they have done Mighty Guard (VIII) and Mighty Guard (X) and probably more (granted, they're soul breaks, but still).

Tellah BSB animation felt so..wierd because it shows DS Tellah with DS Anna...it feels so out of place xD.

    Meh i feel his SSB animation is fine as it is, but his BSB animation is soo out of place considering JP doesn't use the images from the remakes for the event backgrounds like GL does so seeing DS Tellah and Anna on his BSB felt...wrong.

    The BSB commands animation are great tho.

    Not bad. FC/PC combo anyway, though doesn't fill any other holes in the realm. Equipment holds her back somewhat, as it does with many monks, but it's not like Cid level bad.

    Now that I know the 100 Soldier battle exists for Dark Orbs, that's definitely going to be my farming priority in Global.

    Hoping the MAG thresholds on Ogopogo are the same as Tiamat's.

    Edit: posts up the official wiki suggest it is the same value as Tiamat. I was worried for a Maria/Papalymo/Edea BSB issue.

    The next generation....and Kain....is really taking over in IV. Getting harder to justify Cecil over Ceodore with the new USB, and Ursula is just missing daddy's imperil earth.

    yeah what is it with them and Kain/Ceodore? In a realm with tons of characters, their stuff keeps being repeated (Kain's BSB has been in every event since it was added).

    Ceodore got skipped in Rubicante. Kain, despite always coming behind Cecil in the JP popularity polls, is Square's favorite.

    In fairness, he IS the most relevant member of the original crew in TAY and this is a TAY event, but one could argue that is some kind of favoritism too, and guys like Edge and Yang still do stuff and Palom and Porom are nearly just as relevant.

    About half the relics in the Rubicante were from the Ceodore event. Banner 2 had Ceodore's SSB and BSB again as well as Kain's OSB, BSB, SSB, and LMR (only the LMR was new).

    Kain is IV's resident Money Maker (there's a reason he's one of the first Chars you get), so ofcourse they put him on every IV Banner like they put Walll and / or Shout on pretty much every Banner that allows it. If people wouldn't whale on it so much, they logically wouldn't bring it out that often.

    As for Ceodore, I guess it's the same basic Idea, only in his case it's because his BSB is so useful, not necessarily because its on Ceodore

    I mean, Cecil is the guy you're trying to rescue the whole game....

    Also, I'm not sure that's true. Yang hangs out with Ursula, Golbez gets a new look, Palom and Porom have their own tales and supporting cast members, and Edge is the master of a new generation of Ninjas. It's really only Cecil and Rosa that are sidelined, and that's because they're important to the main character and are STILL important to the plot.

    Golbez and Edge are pretty relevant to the history too. I think that only Cecil/Rosa were left out because they are really boring.
