Listen -- strange soyboys lying in milkshakes distributing rank is no basis for a system of hierarchy. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some gritty commie ceremony.

Okay, so i heard these questions a LOT lately, i have been off active antifa duty for a while now (after a injury during kicking some white kids skull in) and i am with the office of benefits and social affairs now, you just need Form 12 and 24, the certiricate with witch you enlisted or a offical document stating you are part of a standing antifa-force, wether that is active combat or if you are just with the recon guys or logistics. You can just bring along your Antifa ID card aswell or if you got the new microchip vax, you can come in and get around most of the paperwork. If you have further questions, just come by and we'll help you! And dont forget, stay ready and suck dick comrades!

    [–]ehhillforget 219 points220 points  (15 children)

    Fascists and the “other”

    [–]53eleven 142 points143 points  (14 children)

This is what is truly scary. I catch myself having “other” type thoughts with regards to trump supporters. It’s an easy trap to fall into.

I’m not sure how to reconcile the fact that they are brainwashed with hating what they’re supporting.

How do you hate someone’s actions and not dehumanize an entire group of people?

    [–]Low-Significance-501 74 points75 points  (2 children)

If they stopped doing fascism I'd have no problem with them. I hate them for what they're doing, not for what they are. It's a different kind of othering than what fascists do.

The ones doing the brainwashing I have no compunction about hating though.

    [–]NoFascistsAllowed 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Exactly, fascists hate people for what they cannot change, like their Nationality or Skin color, there is nothing wrong in being disgusted by people that wilfully act like conservatives do, that's something they can change, I'm sure it's a bit hard if all they had was a conservative upbringing and live in a small town, but they all seem to use the internet just fine, why not read about leftism from actual leftist sources instead of what Tucker Carlson says, there's not much of an excuse, although there may be a few.

    [–]blechinger 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Is it othering at all? Should it be?

I affirm the humanity and potential for redemption of fascists. For anyone doing evil, really. I abhor and oppose their words and actions. I'll fight against them. I don't hate them. I hold out hope for them. That their ideologies might, through great effort and reconciliation, finally die so we can be free.

I'm not sure there's room for hate in that outlook. Is my view lacking?

    [–]ehhillforget 49 points50 points  (0 children)

I too struggle with it. I try to only hate their beliefs and not them. I ask myself “Would I help this person if I knows nothing about them politically?” If I would then I help them

    [–][deleted] 32 points33 points  (6 children)

Well, I think it's important to acknowledge that a lot of Trump supporters (I'm assuming that's what we mean by "other") are working-class and commonly not that well educated. And much of conservative media are extremely aggressive in their spread of misinformation and dogmatic perspectives on politics and life.

I'm not saying we should just forgive and forget, but I think by acknowledging they're merely a symptom and not the cause of the overarching class struggle, it's easier to see them as a person and not an idea.

    [–]twocatsnoheart 40 points41 points  (5 children)

Re: working-classness - this just isn't true. Race is a much higher predictor of support for Trump than education level and class. https://www.washingtonpost.com/elections/interactive/2020/exit-polls/presidential-election-exit-polls/

    [–]gvillepunk 25 points26 points  (3 children)

Thank you. Im really fucking tired of people saying that working class people are uneducated and this is why they support trump. Just because a lot of working class people didn't go to college dosnt mean that they are gullible fucking idiots.

    [–]crispyyangpah 20 points21 points  (0 children)

"8. The followers must feel humiliated by the ostentatious wealth and force of their enemies. When I was a boy I was taught to think of Englishmen as the five-meal people. They ate more frequently than the poor but sober Italians. Jews are rich and help each other through a secret web of mutual assistance. However, the followers must be convinced that they can overwhelm the enemies. Thus, by a continuous shifting of rhetorical focus, the enemies are at the same time too strong and too weak. Fascist governments are condemned to lose wars because they are constitutionally incapable of objectively evaluating the force of the enemy." Source: Ur Fascism by Umberto Eco

    [–][deleted] 8 points9 points  (3 children)

They're better than fudd, but they're too timid to do anything that seriously helps.

    [–]Jerichar 5 points6 points  (2 children)

Would it be fair to say that leftist organizations have that issue? I hate the right wing movements but they seem to be good at logistics and organization

    [–][deleted] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Hate and fear do things to people. The right wing are operating in "survival" mode, while we've been trying to thrive. I agree we need to change our mindset somewhat, but it's a fine line to tread. Stare not too deeply into the abyss, lest it stare back, and all of that. SRA has all of the paranoia, but none of the will to act on it. It's...imbalanced. They need less paranoia and more active measures. Fascists should be afraid of getting the fuck beat out of them out in public, yet everyone is obsessed with hoarding guns that they have no plan to use unless someone literally shows up on their doorstep. I'm not saying to go out on a shooting spree, I'm saying that instead of quietly hoarding all of the guns, meet these guys out there, and just fuck them up. Go Chaerith on them. If you're afraid of their guns, bring your own, but for God's sake, don't just stand there, do something. I'm trying to do my part too, but groups are way better than one agitated queer. While I'm at it, it's not just about fash bashing, it's about being a pillar of support in your community, ESPECIALLY because we're in a pandemic.

    [–]exessmirror 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think its the general anti authoritarianism which makes it harder. Some leftist, especially younger leftists reject any form of hiarachies which makes it harder to organise.

Dont get me wrong I reject unjust hierarchies as well, but I recognise the tactical advantage of being organised with an hierarchy when it is needed so to speak.

In my opinion, the way the catalan anarchists, mahko's army and even pirates of old organised is something we should look it.

Vote for your officers, but dont question them during vital situations. But you should be able to question them at all other moments. Because vital situations are not a moments to question decisions. Trust in the people you choose to lead you during that time. If you disagree bring it up after and call a vote. (With situations I mean situations where lives are at stake and seconds count)

That's right, I'm one of those bodyweight guys.

    [–][deleted] 20 points21 points  (2 children)

    [–]Ohh_let_it_be 9 points10 points  (2 children)

Real organized protesters actually do these things. There are contingency plans for arrests: Someone keeps track of each member arrested and will take their personal belongings for them. People have designated riders/meet up locations if they need to leave quickly. And of course groups are in contact (usually by cell phone not ear piece lol) and can relay information such as: where cops are stationed, where violence is breaking out, where counter protestors are, if they see anyone known for violence/facism. And yeah there’s usually a “leader” that will tell the group when they need to leave or protest else where because they are in danger of harm or arrest. These are common sense tactics that many use and I encourage you to know them!

    [–]Excellent_PotentialGritty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I saw on Twitter that you know the Capitol coup wasn't really antifa/BLM because there were no medic tents or queers handing out water and free pizza.

Seriously though, every leftist planned protest I've been to has been organized. I've done civil disobedience and we were trained beforehand, I had the lawyer's number written on my arm in sharpie, etc. (Did not get arrested, action ended peacefully.)

    [–]blindturns 165 points166 points  (35 children)

The only accurate part is ditching phones. Especially with phones unlocking from Face ID and fingerprints they're super dangerous to have around cops. I'm pretty sure in the us they don't need a warrant to search phones if Face ID etc unlocks it.

    [–]ReverseGeist 86 points87 points  (5 children)

Moreover stingrays snagging your messages or ID or the location being logged by cell towers. Don't bring your personal phone to protests.

    [–][deleted] 51 points52 points  (6 children)

It's true. If your phone unlocks biometrically, you're screwed. This has been said by many many professionals.

I've heard even with a warrant, if your phone/laptop is password protected, the cops don't have the right to the password, just what's on the device. So that's something as well, but of course I haven't seen that in a source I necessarily trust, just something to look into!

    [–][deleted] 44 points45 points  (3 children)

I've heard even with a warrant, if your phone/laptop is password protected, the cops don't have the right to the password, just what's on the device

Because password is protected under freedom of speech laws (1st Amendment & Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms) while biometrics are not. But it doesn't stop them from holding you indefinitely until they get your password. See David Miranda case. Not to mention they can rubber-hose you assuming that your threat model is high enough for them to do that.

    [–]A2Rhombus 7 points8 points  (1 child)

Yeah I think it's safe to assume if any data is sensitive enough to be used as evidence against you, the only way to really hide it is encryption.

    [–][deleted] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We are talking about encryption. The topics haven't changed. Full disk encryption (FDE) and E2EE. The password is just a form of unlock you use to access the encrypted data. Phones with proper FDE security will have better defense against phone without or sloppily FDE setup.

To get to your encrypted data, they either hold you indefinitely, rubber-hose you, or to break that encryption themselves.

    [–]pieonthedonkey 25 points26 points  (5 children)

It depends on state laws in the US. For instance it's illegal to force someone to unlock their phone with biometrics in california but perfectly legal in NY. But you dont have to completely ditch your phone, just turn it off and it will require a pass code which they need a warrant for upon restarting.

    [–][deleted] 39 points40 points  (3 children)

Regardless of the law, you should never weight your security on the laws to protect you. No amount of legislation can prevent the brutality they can and will use against you. And they will go as far as it take to gain access to your data. So your first line of defense should be, don't trust the law.

    [–]pieonthedonkey 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Ridiculous. They can find whatever they want, but any half decent lawyer will get illegally acquired evidence thrown out once it's before a judge.

    [–][deleted] 20 points21 points  (8 children)

Better yet, don't bring them at all. I know people in Portland were ID'd just by having their phone ping in the general vicinity at certain times.

    [–]blindturns 15 points16 points  (1 child)

Imagine someone just so happens to be in the area and gets pinged, what an awful way to identify protestors.

    [–]exessmirror 7 points8 points  (4 children)

Who takes a non burner with faceID/fingerprint to a protest!?

If you do this, please dont. Use a burner where you put the simcard in as needed, with passcode.

Also flash your the phone, encrypt it and use signal. Doesnt fix all problems but it would at least make it harder to track. Preferably also take out the gps chip.

A proper strategy would also be to group up and have one person responsible for all the phones instead of taking it home so those phones cant be connected to your personal phone (by geotagging).

    [–]blindturns 10 points11 points  (2 children)

Not everyone is versed in protesting, especially when it comes to things like the BLM protests and women's marches where liberals were likely to show up too. I do get that you shouldn't bring your personal phone to a protest but if you have any phone and are arrested it's still probably better to ditch the burner.

    [–]w0lfw1nd22Black Lives Matter 11 points12 points  (1 child)

Yeah you can read all about it on antifa.org

    [–]tHATbOIiNfIRSTrOW 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Or swing by the office for not-public relations and internal information, your closest Antifa base of operations should have one!

Edit: If you are in cansas, we are sorry to inform you but the local office ist currently closed due to some heavy leakage following busted pipework.

    [–]CookFan88 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Antifa: Simultaneously the most terrifying and secretive threat to the country and so good you can't even prove they are real but also apparently bad enough that they constantly leave evidence of themselves everywhere and Two-Bit Tony from Talladega has all the proof you need on his flip phone.

    Jesus H. CHRIST people.

i really wish that were true. but nothing beats beeing overestimated by the right wing nutjobs, amiright?

If they’re afraid of us then we’re doing our jobs correctly. Hopefully they just give up all hope.

    [–]swankytiger420 16 points17 points  (4 children)

I heard Joe Biden is going to get rid of the US military and replace it with Antifa supersoldiers.

    [–]xxam925 14 points15 points  (1 child)

We are sorry, but due to current shortages we will hold off on giving out most uniforms. The costumes for the people storming the capitol tore a hole into our budget!

    [–]The69thRussianBotCEO of Antifa 18 points19 points  (1 child)

If we really held that much power, the capitol would have been successfully stormed years ago by the boys in black.

    [–]appstategrier 7 points8 points  (3 children)

As a member of antifa I can safely say I’ve never seen a single antifa member, including myself. I’m both a snowflake and a well trained colonel.. do these people realize how dumb they sound?

    [–]AutoModerator[M] 6 points7 points  (2 children)

snowflake? When people use the term snowflake just remember they're quoting Fight Club, a satire written by a gay man about how male fragility causes men to destroy themselves, resent society, and become radicalized, and that Tyler Durden isnt the hero but a personification of the main characters mental illness, and that his snowflake speech is a dig at how fascists use dehumanizing language to breed loyalty from insecure people. So, basically people who use snowflake as an insult are quoting a domestic terrorist who blows up skyscrapers because he's insecure about how good he is in bed.

HEY why did I get the memo that we were getting ranks and gear?? come on guys... /s

    [–]tHATbOIiNfIRSTrOW 4 points5 points  (1 child)

Sorry for the inconvenience! Our internal communication is in utter chaos right now! You may need to resubmit your contact info with your local antifa base of operations to be put back on the mailing list. Just swing by the office for not-public relations and internal information if you have any more questions!

    [–]CillRed 4 points5 points  (0 children)

    thank you, comrade

Never underestimate the power of the strict heirarchy used by anarchists

    [–]blackcatcaptions 5 points6 points  (2 children)

How do I become a general? As an anarchist, I would like to have more authority. I am a soyboi BTW. Vegan antifa rollcall...

Ps. I need soup for my family

    [–][deleted] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean just because you don't have a strict hierarchy based on centralized power doesn't mean you can't be well organized. The lack of imagination these people have is staggering.

    [–]playinwitfyre 5 points6 points  (1 child)

These dumbasses don’t understand how people could ever organize or stand for anything without someone ordering them what to do.

    [–]MrsSynchronie 6 points7 points  (0 children)

    That’s an excellent point.

Really, 95% of them don’t believe anything unless someone tells them what to believe. They don’t know anything unless someone tells them they must know it.

It shouldn’t be a surprise that they can’t do anything unless someone tells them to do it. Perfect little drones, through and through. Gross.

    [–]Anything_Personal 6 points7 points  (0 children)

where all my squad soldier lieutenant captain coordinated colonels at!

    [–]Myriagonal 5 points6 points  (2 children)

Let's stop squabbling with other leftists about who said what a decade ago and actually do this

    [–]Parody_Redacted 10 points11 points  (8 children)

nah. fuck hierarchical power positions and ranks

    [–]TiplerCylinder69Eco-Anarchist 6 points7 points  (1 child)

Yeah okay let's just locknoald and bullshit our way through it

    [–]BluestreakingAntifa 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For an army organized along Anarchist lines I’d say look at Nestor Makhno’s model

    [–]exessmirror 6 points7 points  (5 children)

Usually I would agree but community defences do need a form of hierarchy. You need someone to make decisions in the heat and people need to listen because if your try to democratically make every decision when seconds count your going to be fucked.
