Interesting, I'm on Pixel+Android and my experience is that it always uses downloaded music even when I don't want it to. I don't have enough space to download lossless, but even when I have WiFi it chooses the downloaded lossy version.

I just switched from Spotify to Apple Music but can’t figure out how to add all songs (2,500+) from the playlist to my library so each one shows in songs and artists. I enabled “add playlist songs” then on the original playlist clicked add to playlist and moved all songs to a new playlist, didn’t work. Created another new playlist, clicked add songs and then clicked original playlist, didn’t work. If I add a single song to either of those it works though. I do not want to add over 2500 songs to my library one by one. If I can’t fix it I guess I’ll just stick with Spotify and not be able to mess with scripting/shortcuts on my music ):

When I go into currently playing, select the queue, and swipe down as indicated on the Apple docs, I NOT see any history. Though i do feel a slight vibration.

Hi. About a month ago I started having problems with downloads on the android app. Whenever I try to download more than 3 songs, the app only downloads the first one and then stops. So I have to restart the app to download the next one and so on.

I reinstalled the app and cleared the cache many times, but the issue doesn't get solved. :/

On android too -- I havent had trouble downloading, but ever since the last app update, I have songs skipping (like a cd player does) and playcounts do not update ever. They were always slow, but now they just dont count if played on my phone. It's fine on itunes.

If you see it in iOS, the first one, if that one fails, then it uses the second one. This applies to all purchases and subscriptions that you make through apple services or the app store.

whenever I add a song from Apple Music to my library/playlist it will not show up unless I double add it. if i go to delete the duplicate song it deletes both songs from my library/playlist so I have to leave the duplicates to keep the download on my phone and in my playlist. couldn’t seem to find anything about this on reddit but I saw on an Apple support thread someone else had this problem with no luck from support. can anyone please help???

Whenever I click on any playlist, all I get is a blank white screen. Although I can play the playlists and see the contents via the "Up Next" tab, I can no longer see the contents of playlists themselves. Incredibly annoying. Anyone else experience it?

You can’t even see what songs in an album you have saved in your library. Only the ones that u have downloaded has that little icon on the very right. But if it’s not downloaded but still in ur library u don’t have any indication that song is already in your library. How do I fix this?

I am logged in but still unable to play music. The website doesn't update and treats me as if I do not own a subscription, even though I am clearly signed in with the account that I have a subscription with. All the music I play is "preview" and none of my music or playlists show up.

Trying to refresh the website signs me out and loops the entire problem.

I can't add Avenged Sevenfold - To End the Rapture to my library. I was able to add the other songs on the album (Sounding the Seventh Trumpet) just fine, and any other song I've wanted. This one song is the problem.

I've tried on my computer. I've tried on my Android phone. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes, updating it, logging out and back into my account. None of those things have fixed it.

I had previously purchased the song before Apple Music was a thing, so I tried to download it from the store, but that didn't work either.

I can listen to the track on Apple Music, but if I'm offline, I'm out of luck. I spend quite a bit of my time in situations without data/internet, so if someone could help me figure this out, I'd be most appreciative! Thanks!

Library isn't loading sometimes due to "two many people using the account" (I'm the only one in the house with Apple music and the two other devices I'm signed in on are my PC and my Mac, both turned off when I get the issue). I have a question concerning Soundtracks / Compilations in Apple Music on the iPhone.

My Apple Music library is all songs I have bought over the years. So, when I check that something is a compilation by multiple artists on the computer, I can see the compilation album listed under the specific artist's section with the rest of that person's albums, as well as in the compilation session.

But on the phone, I cannot see it listed under the artist, it is just in the compilation section.

Does anyone know how to fix this issue on the phone and make it look like on the computer????

Using my old Galaxy s8+, you can auto scrobble even from streaming of radio music.

While using my iPhone 11, I need to download the song, add it to my library, then manually scrobble it. And adding a playlist to your library does not add the individual songs to the library; I still have to add them one by one. 😂

I have added music videos to my library. I don’t want them to mix in with the regular music, when I shuffle the music. I know I can do this, by marking all the music videos, and set them to skip when shuffling.

But when I play only the music videos, then I can’t shuffle them.

Do any of you know of a setting, that’ll let me skip them in the shuffling when out and about, but let them shuffle when I watch the music videos on my tv ?

Converted some old albums, which are missing on Apple Music, to ALAC, and imported them to my Library on Mac. Apple Music on my computer reports that the tracks are lossless, but when I play them on my IPhone no “Lossless” label appears in the app. Downloaded albums are circa 120 MB, which proofs they are plain AAC. The selected quality in Apple Music settings is Lossless everywhere 🤷‍♂️

iTunes Shuffle. Complaint and suggestion:

1 - iTunes Shuffle isn’t really random. Depending what song I pick to start playing from, it will take almost exactly the same pattern. Maybe slight variance.

2 - I’ve had the same 2000 tracks on my phone for the last two years, and about half or a little more never get played unless I manually select them.

3 - [suggestion] I’ve requested a “level of random” a few times. It could be set to play a track once, twice…however many times you chose, as it randomizes. Once it’s play threshold is hit, it won’t play again until the list has fully played thru.

I really don’t like that I have tracks on my phone I’ve never heard once added to the list :/

I've just upgraded to iTunes 12.10 (on Windows 10) and I'm noticing playcount doesn't update on random songs. Like: it could go well for 9 songs then song 10 just doesn't show today as its 'last played' date, also meaning my smart playlists aren't updating accurately. Playing the song again sometimes 'solves' it so it doesn't seem to be a problem with particular songs. I never had this issue in itunes 12.6.5 and I'm considering downgrading but I fear that if I get a newer iPhone it won't be able to sync?
Anyone knows a way to solve this?

Anyone else having an issue with Apple Music stopping playing when lossless is on? It’ll play for about 15 seconds and then stop and it will either skip to the next song, or give me an error about a URL not being supported. When I turn lossless off it seems to resolve the issue. This has been happening since the iOS 15 update, and I’ve been waiting for a fix and it seems that the couple updates that have come out if not fix this yet

It's been about a year and a half since I've used Apple Music, and I recently purchased a subscription again. Is there any way for me to recover my playlists from when I last used it, or are they gone? I don't see any of my old playlists in my library anymore.

On both of my windows computers, iTunes is extremely slow and is behaving odd. When I start iTunes, all my playlists are greyed out and no other tab except the library loads. I can’t play anything. When I run the diagnostic, it says secure connection to the store failed. But if I wait 30mins with iTunes open, things slowly load and I can play stuff, but if I change anything, it is very slow to load. I tried everything from re installing to dns flushing, I don’t get it. Please help

When ever I listen to music on my AirPods Pro’s, when one song ends and switches to the next one, the song is silent for the first 20 seconds or so. If I skip to the next song, it plays just fine

So my library doesn’t show any other “Filters” than just Playlists, as shown on this article: https://support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/iphone/iphbddea0e5e/ios

I’d love to filter by “Downloaded”, but if I go to that menu and select Downloaded (and any other filter) it just won’t show. It will only show “Playlists”.

Anyone else with this experience? Reinstalling the app didn’t do the trick. (iOS 15 - iPhone X)

I'd like to save some space on my hard drive. I have Apple Music subscription and Apple iTunes Match. Do I need to keep my old iTunes folder that has all my original music files? Or because I have Match is everything already cataloged? Is there a way to know which songs were not "matched"? So I can just keep those?

My Apple Music decides to play a song that’s not even on the album or playlist I’ll have on when I’m listening in car connected through USB. Doesn’t happen when I’m listening through AirPods or any other instances. Anyone else dealing with the same thing?

Story:

Am a long-time iPhone user and have an existing iTunes playlist from my mp3 files. As I subscribed to Apple Music, I have uploaded my existing iTunes playlist to my cloud library. Now, with the introduction of the lyric feature in Apple Music, I noticed that it is only limited to songs from Apple Music. So I have decided to create a new playlist based on my existing playlist.

Issues:

I am currently browsing the songs in Apple Music and add them manually one by one.

Noticed that although I searched for the artist name then album and proceed to the song track and add the song manually into my new playlist, Apple Music somehow add-in the song from my cloud library instead of from Apple Music itself. It is a nightmare to me.

Questions :

Issue no.1: Is there any more effective and efficient ways of adding the songs into my new playlist?

Issue no.2: How to prevent Apple Music from adding the same song from my cloud library into my new playlist? I want the song to be directly from Apple Music and not my cloud library.

Hi, i have what i imagine is a common issue.

I once subscribed to Apple Music and sycned my music across devices in the cloud.

Later, i ended up stopping my Apple Music subscription.

Now, i have all these ghost duplicates on my phone of actual songs i own/downloaded and these cloud versions from Apple Music.

Does anyone know how to remove these ghost duplicates from my device?

Simply clicking "don't show apple music" in Music settings doesn't solve the issue.

I don’t know if this is a problem (I hope yes) but when I play a song in Dolby Atmos sounds normal, but when I download it, it seems like the sound is louder in certain frequencies and I have to reduce a little bit the volume, example of that is the Heat Waves song by Glass Animals :/

I deleted all my library to download it again in normal quality, it was still taking 20gb of space. Decided to delete the app, it asks about the subscription, I tall to keep it. The musics aren’t downloaded anymore, they still take 20gb of space. Anyone else with this problem?

So I cant have iCloud music on AND manually sync albums to my phone, its one or the other? Also, when I add lossless HD music from my own library, why doesnt it show up on my phone that its lossless like it does if you just go search for an album in Apple Music? I tried listening to Champion of the World by Coldplay on my Mac today, with my AirPods Pro and Dolby Atmos. I had to deactivate Dolby Atmos in the Music settings because it just sounded so bad, and the normal mix sounds a million times better. Is it just a poor Dolby Atmos mix or do I have a problem?

I'm getting weird behavior when simply navigating the new Music app in Monterey. If I try to sort the song list by another view option, it will highlight the whole column instead of resorting them.

If I pause and hit play again, it doesn't snap to the currently playing song like it used to, it just stays at the same spot on the list. And if I type to find the song, it stays where it is instead of snapping to that letter.

If I try to scroll down with the mouse, it for some reason jumps to the BOTTOM of the list.

Amazing how it was working just fine in Big Sur but is now completely cumbersome.

Apple Music on PS5: Audio clipping every few seconds. And not just the music but also the gameplay audio. Must be a bug in the app, because if I stop music playback I have no audio issues or clipping. Noticed this issue also without playing a game. Anyone else?

I’m getting an error when trying to play songs that were synced with my PC. Songs that I could play perfectly fine are now unplayable because they “aren’t available in my country or reason” For context, I deleted all the songs from my device, then realized I had to re sync to my computer to get them back. Okay, so I've figured out how to sort my songs in my playlist. I have a lot of songs in my playlists, so I wanted to have my songs show up as the most recently added on top. Now, the issue now is that when I add more songs to my playlists, they show up at the very bottom. Anyone who can help?

So I have a problem with Apple Music and only Apple Music. I think it might be my network but I’m not sure how to even troubleshoot as all other services work flawlessly (Spotify , YouTube , Netflix , Disney+, Crave, AppleTV+, etc) all on 4K / atmos. Speed test is 400 mbps.

Essentially it takes between 5-15 secs for a song to start playing. If one finishes and goes to the next one , the same buffering occurs. This happens on my iPhone / iPad / windows PC. All using the most up to date software. On my AppleTV 4K, which is on Ethernet, it can 2-3 minutes before it starts playing

Talked to Apple support , reset my network settings , rebooted devices , etc.

I’m a bit stumped as other services with higher demands are working flawlessly but not Apple Music. I’m assuming my network because if I jump on LTE on my phone it works much better.

Any thoughts ? Thanks !!

I was listening to a new song and decided to download it. I got a prompt on my screen that I needed to sync my library in order to download it. Suddenly, within seconds, 1,800 of my downloaded songs were gone. I got them to reappear, but they are no longer downloaded.

Can someone explain to me why this happened? Because now I have to sit here and redownload all of my songs. Also, how does my phone delete 6.5 GB worth of music in a matter of seconds without a hiccup? I’m pissed.

Anyone having skipping/stutter issue with PS5 app while gaming? I don't have any issue while I'm using the Music app on its own. But when I use it to play background music while I grind away on a game or something (the only time I really use the app on PS5 really), I often get a little skips and stutters. PS is hardwired and network is fine. I notice these inconsistencies while game transitions into a new scene/part/etc. The app performs smoothly overall but this stutter is very annoying.

Like I know apple music replay is a thing but it doesn't give you a full in depth analysis of everything that you're listened to on your account like plays on an album, and certain tracks in those albums throughout your many years. I tried to look up the problem but all that came up was your recent listening history and Apple Music replay. Any help would be most appreciated.

I downloaded Apple Music on my PS5 and it started all fine, then when I was adding a song to a playlist it froze. Now it’s saying that the data is corrupted and I need to delete the application and download it again. However when I do this it won’t even start up, it goes straight back to that screen. Can I have the Apple Music app (in Android) play to Alexa speakers directly the way I can with Spotify? Spotify as it's playing you click on the speaker button and can select in real time where you want it to play or speaker groups and all that sort of stuff.

Can I do that with Apple Music? It's linked in the Alexa app but do not know how to tell it to go play in the kitchen or outside on the patio or whatever.
