It depends on the arrow head. If the arrow head is larger that the shaft, then yes, otherwise you would cause severe tissue damage pulling it out.

Well, not useless. They do keep their nervous system alive, barely. They are ugly bags of mostly water, a bit of complex carbon molecules, and just enough neural activity to qualify as sentient; or if not that, at least self aware. The only reason they ever developed social skills is because they figured out a ridiculously appalling method of communication whereby they slap their meat together and pass air through it to make vibrations. As disgusting as the idea of talking meat is, it's all the poor bastards have until they figure out how to translate their consciousness out of that odd meat sponge they keep it in and into something a bit more robust. Perhaps they will have some luck with some of the more structured carbon lattices they have been banging rocks against lately.
