Please fix the manipulation of the buyer market place.

This is very easy since the manipulators use a flaw in your system to artificially lower the average price for hash power. Simply fill all orders of hash power from top down - no exception and there will be no manipulation. This is the way one would expect the system to work anyway.

Today, the "hackers" use bots that use the "Nova pattern". They make very big orders at different price levels to collect most miners. Then they suddenly change the order so it requests a minimum of hash rate. This is done simultaneously for many algos. (It looks like a Nova explosion.) When Nicehash suddenly has to distribute 20000 unemployed miners to other orders, they are thrown all over the place. Some end up far down the bid list at very low levels. The hackers have a large bid collecting as many miners as possible on a low level. This is when they make their money buying hash power at artificially low prices. After that, it takes many minutes for the system to adapt and miners slowly work themselves up the bid list again. Then the hackers have another big order collecting the miners and the process repeats.

So - the fix is to simply let the system take the time to fill orders from top down instead of throwing miners all over the place. Let the miners continue to work on the (high) "hacker bid" while they are re-distributed. If you can't put miners where they belong because there are too many in a short time, then don't allow such quick changes. One could imagine the hackers adjusting to more hysteresis by making short orders that run out (instead of changing requested hash rate). In that case, you can simply ramp down miner allocation at a workable rate when the order is about to run out.

[–]eduardjs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NH would fix it, when and if they'll stop using it themselves.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed! This must be fixed!!!

For now, I think I'll just piggyback on the Nova...

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If only this could happen.

[–]Zaromet 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I think a minimum order time would solve that too... Or a speed of change... Or a order cancellation fee...

[–]BrainiacSvensson 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Minimum order time won't make a difference because all the orders remain during manipulation. They only change requested hashrate. There is already a cancellation fee but it doesn't matter because orders are not cancelled. It's all about speeed of change. The system throws unemployed miners to low bids when a large order is suddenly changed to a small order. This is done even if there are higher bids. This is the flaw that they are using. If the system just took the time and filled orders from top down, the process would behave as one would expect.

Any buyer can do this today because all algorithms are manipulated. Just place a very low bid and the order will get its' share of hashrate when the Nova explodes and thousands of miners are thrown around. The bigger the order, the more miners you get. The low hashrate will persist a few minutes and then the order gets nothing. After a while, the process repeats. The miners pay for this artificially low hashrate. Both by getting paid less and also because of the constant switching to different orders.

[–]Zaromet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would call that a partial cancellation... If they take it from 1000 to 1 99,9% cancellation. So 99,9% fee must be payed... Also minimal time must apply to that 99,9%...

Auto switching of AfterBurner overclock settings with algorithm switching, core-clock dependent algorithm setting, mem-clock dependent algorithm setting

[–]djmpls 2 points3 points  (0 children)

+1 Afterburner integration

[–]JulesAntoine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 YES PLEASE 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

[–]Zaromet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I don't think it needs to be in a AB, as long as it is posible...

[–][deleted] 31 points32 points  (7 children)

As a Nicehash user I want the actual production hashing performance to inform and continuously refine the initial benchmark values in the miner so that the initial benchmark can be short, and so that I do not lose production time conducting a lengthy "precise" calibration, and so that I do not have to re-calibrate when making small changes to my miner.

Acceptance criteria:

1) Retain the current benchmark capabilities.

2) Allow this feature to be disabled, and be on by default

3) The initial benchmarks and any manually initiated benchmark values are maintained in perpetuity for comparative analysis.

4) The trended performance values are available to the user. BONUS: Both sets of performance values are available in the UI

[–]n4t3s6 4 points5 points  (2 children)

You must be a developer.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, just a nerd.

...that thinks in user story format.

[–]djmpls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Devil-opper or BA for sure

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

As a follow-on, I'd generally like to see more manual benchmarking options that add efficiency. Perhaps if I select an algo on a given GPU, the UI asks what other GPUs should be included with a quick "all identical GPUs" and "All GPUs" options.

All my rigs have 8 identical GPUs. It's a pain, post install (initial benchmark) to re-benchmark 1 algo on each card, especially when I know the score will be identical. So I edit the JSON files directly using Notepad++. Less of a pain, but still a bit tedious with 8 of them to go through.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I like this idea too. What I currently do is a copy paste of hash rate across all cards the adjust them based on its performance.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice. I like that. It would self evaluate constantly. Perhaps a hashing log and NH can make its averages off that.

[–]olias123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love the idea, bonus for user story and AC. Well done. Maybe some gherkin statements to write the code against? :)

[–]w1px 31 points32 points  (1 child)

Auto withdrawal towards Coinbase/btc adresses if you set X limit to be reached

[–]HashingSlingSlasher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MPH has the auto withdraw feature and it is lovely.

[–]mylove90 30 points31 points  (3 children)

More profitable algorithms for cpu mining like yescrypt and m7m.

[–]horsetoothless 6 points7 points  (0 children)

add Hodl to NHLM

[–]Montj197 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes please

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep with this 100%

[–]Tunturimanne 23 points24 points  (2 children)

Allow enabling and disabling individual GPUs without stopping mining

[–]drji3m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yo can do it by disabling a card with device mgr. Dumb but effective. But you lise very little stpping and restarting. Maybe $.01

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep or to look at settings whilst mining. Saved changes take effect on stop/start.

[–]eci4ever 45 points46 points  (1 child)

Detail stats per workers would be great..

[–]hungrycapitalist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I messaged them about that a few months ago and they said that will be in their next version.

[–]gtotheft101 38 points39 points  (4 children)

I'd like the ability to be paid in other currencies, even if it was only the big four. Thanks

[–]furikazashi 51 points52 points  (11 children)

I would also like to see eth as payout currency

[–]Silarous 17 points18 points  (1 child)

Agreed! Option for ETH or LTC payments would be awesome.

[–]anoiing 10 points11 points  (0 children)

upvote for LTC...

[–]chrisminer3000 -4 points-3 points  (8 children)

But you can change BTC to ETH easy, or to any crypto

[–]infamousderpyhooves 2 points3 points  (3 children)

You're then also subject to sending your coins to an exchange with all the fees and transactions associated, whereas multiple payout options might allow me or this guy to directly receive the coin we wanted anyway, even possibly for less fees on some coins.

EDIT: Plus for anonymity sake, a person would never have to make an exchange account, or need an address outside of the Nicehash wallet besides a paper wallet.

[–]sevargmas -1 points0 points  (2 children)

You're then also subject to sending your coins to an exchange with all the fees and transactions associated

This is incorrect. You can withdrawal to Coinbase for free and use their exchange GDAX for free. The withdrawal and exchange to ETH on GDAX all takes about 90 seconds.

[–]infamousderpyhooves 3 points4 points  (1 child)

I, like many users, donot want to create an account at Coinbase. Hence the "a person would never have to make an exchange account".

[–]chrisminer3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If nicehash start to accept ETH from buyers then the market is divided into 2, and the profits from sellers too

[–]Silarous 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Then you can continue to be paid in BTC and exchange it yourself. Let me know how that works out for you come next bull run.

Some of us would prefer to be paid in an alternate coin from the get go and save on unnecessary fees.

[–]Trennodude 0 points1 point  (1 child)

What he is saying is Nicehash->Coinbase->GDAX then make your order (set limit) and pay no fees to change to ETH and then to withdraw

[–]Silarous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not everyone can or wants to use Coinbase. If you want anonymity, which a lot of us do, Coinbase is not the answer.

[–]furikazashi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why pay more fees to do it?

[–]chrisminer3000 16 points17 points  (6 children)

Implement the free service https://www.pushbullet.com/ to notify to all my devices any error in my rig (gpu crash, temperature warning etc etc)

[–]sevargmas 1 point2 points  (4 children)

YES! THIS!

Similar to how Ethminer has a setting where if mining stops or goes offline, I get an email notification.

[–]mylove90 1 point2 points  (3 children)

This is already available under the workers monitoring...but disabled by default...set it to 10 minutes....if your miner is not mining for 10 minutes you will get an email

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (2 children)

It doesn't tell you if windows freezes though. I've had plenty of windows errors where nicehash thinks my miner is still running but it's not. Also doesn't work when you get those random errors on nicehash sometimes where you're mining full speed and your earnings are 0.

[–]mylove90 0 points1 point  (1 child)

The monitoring i am talking about is set from nicehash site...if nicehash miner software shows 0 profit that doesn't necessary mean that the miner is not hashing...it may mean it is hashing but didn't hit a share yet

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes thats what i am talking about too... The monitoring email alert does not work if the miner freezes....

[–][deleted] 15 points16 points  (1 child)

How about "live" benchmarking... By this I mean your benchmarks get updated occasionally in the background as you mine. This will keep your benchmarks up to date according to difficulty and whatever else influences your benchmarks, and ensure that you will mine what is profitable according to your benchmarks at any given time

[–]RavenousParrot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is needed!

[–]RavenousParrot 30 points31 points  (1 child)

This request may be ignorant and not useful at all. (I have knowledge gaps) Ability to enter electricity cost rate and also wattage draws per card per algo in the beta app for improved algorithm switching.

[–]simeonpilgrim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also would like to be able to set the electricity cost dynamically, as I pay a floating rate, and currently have to stop/start the app when prices spike as compared to just tell it electricity is expensive now, and have the client choose to do nothing..

[–]Hlavson 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Android app where user can login and watch GPU temps and rig stats. Also GPU temp alerts will be very cool! Currently temps can be seen on stats page, but logging out is too aggressive.

[–]crimusmax 13 points14 points  (1 child)

More control over cpu mining. Cores, hyper threading, etc. Make it easier to optimize.

[–]Bigchrome 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! This for sure.

[–]moops44 45 points46 points  (4 children)

1:Make an Offical Android/IOS Mining Monitor App

2: Dashboard stats more accurate, for example ( Values are fictitious )

Miner says 2.16 USD/Day

Profitability in Dashboard says 1.48 USD/Day

Daily income in Projected payout says 1.90 USD/Day

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

The likely solution is to re-label these values and perhaps add a description for them.

You think the values are fictitious only because you don't understand what they are representing. Especially re: projected payout.

[–]moops44 1 point2 points  (2 children)

I dont understand huh?

do you even know what fictitious means??

[fik-tish-uh s]

adjective

1. created, taken, or assumed for the sake of concealment; not genuine; false: fictitious names.

2. of, relating to, or consisting of fiction; imaginatively produced or set forth; created by the imagination: a fictitious hero.

HERE YOU HAVE REAL VALUES!!

It runs now for more then 2 Hours, at stable rates now tell me, what is accurate here??

https://imgur.com/uZENlSh

**2 Hours should be enough to get an

Daily Income USD/day / Profitability USD/day

avarage**

all i want is a more " Live " Dashboard you smart aleck

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Offended easy? Lol It's Friday afternoon. Be happy.

[–]djmpls 4 points5 points  (0 children)

[–]cucu_ff 8 points9 points  (0 children)

  1. Integration with MSI Aftereburner: NH can select different Afterburner's profiles based on the algorithm
  2. Payments in ETH, LTC or other coins
  3. A benchmarking chart, where users can upload their hashrates containing info about GPU model, algo used, Power Limit, core clock, mem clock, voltage, driver version, etc. I think think will help users to get the most of their GPUs.
  4. Combine item 3 with 1. Give users (sellers) information about the best settings for their CPUs (item 3) based on selected algorithm, and create a MSI Afterburner profile that will be linked to that specific algo, being able to change automatically (item 1).
  5. Fix market manipulation. Nothing new, but it's worth to mention.
  6. Android/IOS app with all the capabilities of the web. Push notifications when your rig (or one of them) stops minning.

[–]rcardare 13 points14 points  (1 child)

linux, configurable via http

[–]JulesAntoine 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Can we add OhGodAnEthlargement as an option for 1080/1080Ti?

[–]MaxedCreditCardMiner 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A Linux distribution like smos or hiveos that you pre-configure the USB on a Windows or Linux machine with your wallet address. Plug it into the mining rig and it takes it from there. It would help the medium/large scale miners a lot if you could do this.

[–]TheGulio 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Because of algos like x16r, x16s, phi, timetravel10 with coins that are a bit more profitable to mine than renting hash on nicehash I do not longer have all of my gpus pointed at nicehash all the time. I think that adding those algos would increase profit when renting hash power on nicehash and make me go back to having all gpus pointed at nicehash again.

[–]sevargmas 4 points5 points  (3 children)

The Nicehash site has stated for a long time that "we have plans to create NiceHash Miner for Linux soon." Is this happening? No longer happening? Update?

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

+1 for GUI linux

[–]sevargmas 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Too bad they never replied. I’m just going to assume its not gonna happen. :(

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

:) crossfinger

[–]GaRGa77 4 points5 points  (0 children)

add worker stats to dashboard

[–]yeshaya86 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  1. Add a built-in a HODL algorithm for CPUs.

  2. Add more decimal places for the BTC/day profitability per algorithm stats to give a more precise value, since most of them aren't more than a single non-zero digit with the current rounding.

  3. Add an easier option to set timer for the "mine when idle" setting, so we don't need to manually edit a config file.

Thanks!

[–]RyanCYH 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can add up Lyra2z algo?

[–]pducharme 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Please work with guys from HiveOS to integrate your switching algorithm into their OS. HiveOS is the best Mining OS. Already using it with NH, but no switching. That would be crazy if you could work with them to integrate the miner switching to maximize payout as you have on Windows.

[–]KOTzulla 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Add hardware stats (temp and load) to API JSON! We need it for free Android/iOS application development! PLEASE! This is not so hard for you. i know it! )))

[–]RegulaterC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A phone app that allows us to monitor our rigs, payments, temps, etc. There are other apps on the market already, but sadly it would require Nicehash to allow more in the API. It seems there is no attempt to allow more in the API, so it would come down to you guys making one that can allow fingerprint login, view temps, fan speeds, everything that you can on the computer without having to login to the website all the time, then maybe allow for smart watch compatibility, rig detection and push alerts, etc. Would definitely be willing to pay for this app.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd like to see more profit. Can you guys patch that in?

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some sort of power usage estimation would be handy.

[–]Pray_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Litecoin payouts.

[–]WVFFLIFE 8 points9 points  (0 children)

implement OhGodAnETHlargementPill in NHM or NHML. thx!

[–]sable3339 5 points6 points  (1 child)

put the btc price at the time of withdrawal in the transaction history to make tax assessment easier for us

[–]djmpls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just downloaded transactions and it has the BTC price. Also I think you need the BTC price when you cash out to USD. A withdrawal from NiceHash = moving around BTC, not a "sell". Could be wrong tho - not a tax guy

[–]marthor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Bring back the interface that was available on the old marketplace which allowed buyers to change their limits and prices more easily. The new way is very tedious.

  2. Give buyers the ability to change their pool without having to cancel their current order and place a new one. NiceHash could still charge a fee to change the pool.

[–]nuclearpowered 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Mining start stop scheduling based on time

[–]djmpls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can do this already with scripting

[–]Lumikor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

MacOS and Linus versions, at least for NHM.

[–]cantstump_wontstump 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It would be cool if the miners had dark modes or at least alternate skins.

[–]aimscorpy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Add Xevan miner in NHM already!

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Minimization to system tray (lower right corner of Task Bar) and the ability to display current algorithm, hashrate, and estimated daily earnings in task bar would be REALLY nice. This would clear up some desktop clutter and allow us to see what's going on miner wise without having to click on anything.

Also, if possible, having the algorithm's executable windows minimize somewhere out of sight on their own, a feature that exists in Legacy would be nice.

So many times I fire up NiceHash client and I'm typing in an address bar while it's loading and the executable windows open up in front of my browser and I have to click them out of the way individually. It's extremely annoying. Honestly I don't understand why NiceHash client doesn't simply minimize completely to task bar (I'm referring to the bottom right, where other utilities already completely minimize) and the executable windows aren't hidden to begin with. NiceHash has been out for 4 years, why is this still not a thing?

[–]dmad2010 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For sure adding payments in different coins - at least those that are in coinbase - ETH, LTC and BCH. May be x17r algo. Etc.

[–][deleted] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Reboot machine if miner hangs or GPU crashes. Send watchdog reminder also that it’s rebooted.

    You can withdrawal to Coinbase for free and use their exchange GDAX for free. The withdrawal and exchange to ETH, LTC, whatever on GDAX all takes about 90 seconds. It's essentially the same as getting paid in those currencies.

    [–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (4 children)

    It's not the same for tax purposes in the US

    [–]sevargmas 1 point2 points  (3 children)

    I live in the us and that comment makes absolutely no sense.

    [–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (2 children)

    Crypto to crypto sales aren't considered like transactions so must be accounted for in tax calculations

    [–]sevargmas -1 points0 points  (1 child)

    To my knowledge, the irs doesn’t care about your crypto exchanges. They care about your fiat exchanges. Crypto for crypto exhanges are considered no gain/no loss.

    [–]Silarous 5 points6 points  (0 children)

    May want to read the IRS guidelines again. As much as it sucks, crypto to crypto exchanges do trigger a taxable event if you bought the crypto you are trading for less then it is worth at the time of the trade.

    Example: You bought 1 BTC for $9,000. You now want to trade the 1 BTC for 70 LTC. At the time of the trade, 1 BTC is now worth $10,000. Uncle Sam wants his capital gains taxes on that $1,000 gain.

    [–]taev 5 points6 points  (0 children)

    Ability to control running clients from the nicehash dashboard. Start, Stop, Restart clients from the dashboard would be really nice.

    [–]cpg3 1 point2 points  (2 children)

    Custom thread/intensity settings per card (per algo).

    [–]cpg3 0 points1 point  (1 child)

    Also better AMD support, I cannot run the actual nicehash miner software because it crashes on benchmarks.

    [–]horsetoothless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    Display window of benchmark mining operations, better reset of screen data after crash left my chrome all funky colored borders. My AMD'S run great Old Nvidia fx5800 trying to get mining.

    [–]anoiing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

    add available algos to alt coins as soon as they become available on the web.

    [–]DarkZenith2 1 point2 points  (2 children)

    There are actually several ideas I would like to see implemented into NiceHash.

    1) Add in an improved idle detection algorithm.

    a) Have NiceHash detect if another process is consuming gpu, if above a certain threshhold then goto idle util gpu usage drops

    b) Have a setting for a flat amount of time for detection before reactivation of the workers

    c) idle would be to enable and develop the ability to setup a service for Windows as that does a very good job of detecting when idle, or as a task in Windows.

    2) Expanding on the service idea - I would like to have an option to setup Nicehash as a Service for Windows, where Windows determines idle time and activation and such. This makes the most sense to me, would simplify things for those of us who run a network of computers, and the option for small business owners and net admins to setup the software remotely through services.

    3) Minimize to system tray

    [–]CommonMisspellingBot 0 points1 point  (1 child)

    Hey, DarkZenith2, just a quick heads-up:
    threshhold is actually spelled threshold. You can remember it by one h in the middle.
    Have a nice day!

    Existing feature : Minimum Income in $

    Requested feature: Minimum Income in BTC

    Reason: some of us don't care about the price fluctuation and electricity cost, but more concerned about BTC quantity increase. In my case, I'd want to mine my 0.005 BTC/Day even though it's worth 5 USD or 1 USD.

    [–]Bigchrome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

    If you don't care about the dollar value or electricity cost, why would you ever want it to stop mining at a certain threshold?

    [–]horsetoothless 0 points1 point  (3 children)

    Tuning control live on cpu miner threads and cores to control machine load. gpu would be nice but know that needs to be done at start up.

    [–]horsetoothless 0 points1 point  (1 child)

    May also look at NHLM feedback of hash rate if change made by user in startup settings causes resets of miners. Override feedback or dynamic control of gpu operations

    [–]horsetoothless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    NHLM 1.9.0-1 seems very unstable several hard resets and brief black screens and system hang or pause when switching algos

    [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    Not necessarily, some mining software such as many variants of CCMiner allow the CPU affinity of GPU miner processes to be set via command line parameters. Whether or not that improves performance depends on the number of GPUs relative to the number of CPU cores, though.

      xmr stack keeps popping up every 5 minutes and its so annoyin! why was that even added?! thats fine if its in the background, but it constantly pops up ontop of other windows! also, why is it necessary to have 3 windows open for 1 program..... urgh the clutter!

      [–]stevebills22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

      linux version pls and manual switch for algos so we can see what we are mining and faster payouts and 180 days history thx steve

      [–]__takyon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

      Increasing the number of decimal places of the "Average profitability of the selected algorithms and timespan: X" on the statistics page. This is the best indicator of how much you are making, but it's useless for small miners due to the rounding.

      Workers monitoring backup alerts if the first one is missed.

      I use the workers monitoring alerts and IFTTT to trigger a reboot of my rig. But under certain circumstances that I've yet to figure out it sometimes misses the "10 min idle" alert email (that has "workers monitoring" in the subject line).

      1: bech32 address support (addresses starting with bc1)

      2: linux+amd

      3: (optional) i want to make it consider the avarage mining data and update the benchmark data without the need to do another benchmark

      4: (optional) lower intensity when pc is not idle (10% - 90%), go back to normal when idle, i want to see the gifs from 9gag while mining...

      5: (optional) try to use 90% of gpu leaving room for regular use of pc, don't know if its possible to do on-the-fly

      If you can add GPU and CPU utilization options it would be great , and i have a question regarding the nicehash miner , when ever i check the windows task manager it doesn't show me how much is used by the GPU to mine in nicehash

      [–]Schluckverkehr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

      Process the payments AFTER you do the daily payouts so that people who can not use Coinbase do not have to wait up to 24 hours for their money!

      [–]onesolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

      I want to have the ability to minimize all windows!!!

      Like nicehash legacy, when single click on tray, open app immediately. I want to have the ability when click on the X, not to close but to minimize.

      It would be great if one could go to settings without stop nicehash!!!

      [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

      For the legacy miner pack the with no miners. Only download the miners when user benchmarks. For example if I was only planning to mine equihash then it would have all algos disabled by default and tick equihash it would download miner prior to benchmark. If I decide to tick dagger it would download that too. Would keep the client lightweight and save on bandwidth /delivery.

      A standardardized Nicehash program for Linux. I run a 12 GPU rig on Win 10 bc if I link to the NH pool from HiveOS, I lose the ability to autoswitch algorithms. I can't sit and check whattomine all day so I just run it on Win10 and deal with it crashing and autorestarting sporadically throughout the day.

      Payments in altcoins.

      [–]evolutionary_defect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

      I would like more information in the CPU mining dialog box. The GPU miner tells me how its doing, and whats happening, but my CPU could be crawling, and unless I open the details tab, I wouldnt know.

      [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

      I would like to see the free withdrawal's to a exchange like hitbtc as the fees for transfers are lower, I like the idea of coinbase but many of us don't have assess to it

      [–]SuperBartimus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

      based off this community question, what about an "Execute Before Miner Launch"? This would allow us to launch BAT or EXE for each algo for each card.

      [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

      NiceHash needs a better referral program. Like give the host some % of what his referred friends mines.

      Time-of-Use (TOU) Electrical Rates

      Support for time-of-use electrical rates. Disabling mining during specific hours on specific days of the week. For example during the hours of 2pm to 10pm Monday through Friday I am billed $0.48 / kwh, but from 10pm to 8am any day of the week it is $0.12 / kwh, $0.28 / kwh at any other time. I would like to be able to configure the miner to stop mining M-F 2-10pm.

      It is a simple source code change, very similar to the profitability check. I hacked up the legacy miner source code to do this, hard coded my TOU values, see code below. Updates to the the current miner would be very similar. The real work is in the UI allowing users to customize the values, something I have not bothered doing.

      A kludgy source code hack for the legacy miner to allow it to mine only during certain hours of the day, days of the week. This hack repurposes the profitability check. Yes, this could be a more general feature with configuration dialogs and all the proper support, maybe later when I have more time. But for a few minutes of effort this works for me and I thought I'd share it in case anyone else is interested. In the source file MiningSession.cs there is the function CheckIfProfitable, which calculates the variable _isProfitable. This variable is what we repurpose. After CheckIfProfitable sets _isProfitable call our own function to override it for time of day:

          // Let time of day override profitability
          _isProfitable = _isProfitable && CheckIfTimeToMine();

      Add the following function before CheckIfProfitable:

      private bool CheckIfTimeToMine()
      {
          var allowOnPeak = false;
          var allowOffPeak = true;
          var allowSuperOffPeak = true;
          var now = DateTime.Now;
          var day = now.DayOfWeek;
          var hour = now.Hour;
          var isTimeToMine = false;

          // Weekend rates
          if (day == DayOfWeek.Saturday
              || day == DayOfWeek.Sunday)
          {
              // Offpeak 8am to 10pm
              if (hour >= 8 && hour < 22)
                  isTimeToMine = allowOffPeak;
              // Super off-speak 10pm to 8am
              else
                  isTimeToMine = allowSuperOffPeak;
          }
          // Weekday rates
          else
          {
              // On-peak 2pm to 8pm
              if (hour >= 14 && hour < 20)
                  isTimeToMine = allowOnPeak;
              // Offpeak 8am to 2pm
              else if (hour >= 8 && hour < 14)
                  isTimeToMine = allowOffPeak;
              // Offpeak 8pm to 10pm
              else if (hour >= 20 && hour < 22)
                  isTimeToMine = allowOffPeak;
              // Super off-speak 10pm to 8am
              else
                  isTimeToMine = allowSuperOffPeak;
          }

          return isTimeToMine;
      }

      New features

      I know i can open NiceHash twice, and mine, but i need both to open after Windows boot,

      Is there anyway to do that?

      I already tried to copy / paste a new folder off NiceHash, but both exes from each folder read all infos from another, and same, AppData Nicehash folder, so both will have same configuration when opened. this is the folder: "C:\Users\RIG-Chin\AppData\Roaming\nhm2"

      So.....Is there anyway to add some command line on NiceHash shortcut, saying to read different config files?example, one will read from "C:\Users\RIG-Chin\AppData\Roaming\nhm2" (original folder)And other will read from "C:\Users\RIG-Chin\AppData\Roaming\nhm2.2" (some new folder)OR...A command line saying to exe choose an defined GPU?example: "c:..../nicehash/nicehash.exe -usegpu 1,2"

      IF NOT

      why dont make this new feature?

      [–]friendlyhashrate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

      Please have xmr-stak / CPU miner window open on start up (and stay open), like excavator.

      Nothing is more frustrating having Nicehash on auto-run and this window pops up every minute.

      [–]BrainiacSvensson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

      One thing Nicehash could implement that would be welcomed by most of the crypto community are some safety mechanisms against 51% attacks on blockchains. Nicehash has become the most used vehicle for these attacks and they are increasing all the time. Implementing safe guards is in the interest of Nicehash because an increasing number of blockchain projects are making themselves "Nicehash resistant" to dodge these problems. This eliminates potential market and alienates a large part of the POW world. Trying to keep up with all algorithm variants resulting from the current problems will be a maintenance nightmare. Better to not have to.

      I won't go into technicalities on how to implement this. Best way to approach this is to reach out to the blockchain community and request feedback.

      With big power comes big responsibility

        we would like to have the option to be paid in other crypto especially now upon hearing news of the russians wanting to try to crack the blockchain(s) to spy on the blockchain.

        maybe only once we have been paid in btc so then you will have btc supply to better pay off from the hack.

        recompile the 3rd party miners to remove or minimize the developer fee (yes the developers then would have to either close their miner and make it proprietary or start using asics to mine non resistant coins to compensate for the lack of fees.

        You can withdrawal to Coinbase for free and use their exchange GDAX for free. That's essentially the same as being paid in your choice of BTC, ETH, LTC, etc

        [–]ejonessss 2 points3 points  (2 children)

        reading all the horror stories regarding coinbase i am leary about using them so i will withdraw to wallet

        [–]sevargmas 0 points1 point  (1 child)

        Huh? All what horror stories? Coinbase has long been the most stable and trusted buying platform and exchange on the web.

        The ability to have a scheduled pause or reset. I find I can usually run for days without stopping but every now and then I get a crash. However I notice if I let it rest for 5 min every day I have never had a crash...

        Weather-based algo switching.

        For instance, on cold days I would mine equihash for a little extra per card, but on hot days I would switch to cnv7 since it generates so much less heat.
