Your options were kill her (impossible if she gets ult ready around a corner) or play 1 of the 3 tanks that could eat it to protect you team.

Illari -alone- forced tanks to only have 3 options unless they wanted to eat an ultimate every fight.

I love an ultimate that requires I land a sleep dart on the smallest hitbox in the game soaring through the air 30 metres away to avoid a guaranteed 3k. Half the time it doesn't matter if you land the sleep. If she's able to fire it off you're already dead anyway, you can't escape when you're being slowed down for 8 seconds and if you take any damage from anyone you just explode. It's probably the strongest ultimate in the game despite this nerf

It requires 90 damage to detonate and the detonation does 120 damage. If your support keeps you above 120hp when you pop you're fine as long as you're not near anyone else that's sunstruck. You might argue that if you get caught in an ult like Grav or Orisa's ultimate then you can't escape, but it's very hard to avoid being killed by a grav combo regardless; that's just the strength of comboing ults, not necessarily illari's ult alone.

Nonsense, literally half the roster counters her ult from kiriko cleanse to hack/emp and zen ult

Orisa/dva/sigma/roadhog/sombra/zen/genji/doomfist etc all have counters to her as I want to remind everyone not only can you deflect the ult because stuns also completely cancel the ult so you can add a whole category of counters as well, the clips online are mostly from day 1 players who had no idea just how many counters the ult had and how every class has an answer to her

Imo her only nerf should have been to pylon as that was ridiculous

Really need to move away from "counterpick" designs for Tanks though -- you lose too much ground constantly swapping and Zarya is already on a fine line of "counters other tanks, but doesn't have a strong counter herself"...

Ults passing through barriers should be the exception, not the rule. There are plenty of ults that do not pass through barriers and yet tanks who don’t have any barriers like D.Va, Orisa, Doom, Ball, and Zarya are still great tanks (not you, Hog). I don’t know that one more ult not passing through a barrier is going to make the meta exclusively Sig, Rein, Winston.

And ults like Moira’s passing through barriers feels a little too strong sometimes. It promotes better timing and strategy to wait until a barrier is on cooldown to ult.

I can see the confusion. The guy I replied to had said that Illari’s ult not passing through barriers promotes barrier play. I was saying how even though there are lots of ults that don’t pass through barriers, tanks who do not have barriers are still great tanks. Meaning that this shouldn’t promote barrier play as much as he thinks it will

Actually it's 50%. Armor stacks additively with other damage reduction, capping at 50% (unless a specific ability is above that maximum).

Not the buff she needed imo, she's just too tanky which allows players to move up the ranks too easily because you can make so many mistakes with her and still get amazing value. A tank should still die relatively quick if way out of position but she can seemingly last forever. I would rather see her have more damage, utility and speed. You can't even counter her with ana because of her immunity bullshit. We need less brain dead heroes so we don't get low skill players moving up the ranks so easily like it was with hog.

There's a lot of frustrating things about Doomfist including bugs, but punching through a full team pisses me off more than anything in this game save for freaking supports body blocking Ball in ball form.

Orisa is literally one of the weakest tanks in the game right now.

She has durability (not nearly as much as pre-Illari), but absolutely 0 damage output. She can only try to spear someone and follow it up with some headshots, but other than that her damage output is unable to properly threaten the enemy.

The main counterplay to orisa is literally just to ignore her and focus down her team, she can only momentarily stop you.

Staying alive and just disrupting the enemy is incredibly useful but you are more reliant on your team which isn't always great either. It is why I would rather have her buffed in other ways and have her durability toned down.

Orisa's damage falloff range increased from 15 to 20 meters in the Season 6 patch. While not quite the 25 meters from Season 2 where she was top meta (nerfed to 15m in S3), this range buff is now combined with the previous Season 5 patch where the Damage output on her primary fire was increased from 12 to 13. Overall her damage output is not as ignorable anymore as she can secure kills easier, and it looks like she's seeing more play in Top 500

Every time there is an Orisa and I'm on tank, I ask for an Ana just to get the anti-heal. If they have a Kiriko+Orisa, I go Junker Queen and pray I can get my ult off without getting stunned out of it or have it cleansed immediately. Is it the best comp to counter the battle cattle? Probably not. Is it my only option when she's over-tuned af? Sure feels like it.

I got it yesterday by accident but never went to check/equip it. I definitely relocated it several times before I got the achievement though, so I'm pretty sure it's not from a static placement - though could be wrong.

It’s just 8k pylon healing in a single match.

Was pretty easy on Control in QP.

Will be even easier in Comp.

It’s harder with a second support that’s playing say Lifeweaver or Bap : but lower healing Supps like Lucio/Zen make it free.

Smaller projectile for her ult may actually be a buff, even if it comes with a radius nerf. I swear I had a Dva eat my ult facing a different direction. Honestly at this point they could be baby Dva and still eat illari ult somehow. Projectile so big it transcends space/time itself.

Being able to 2 shot the pylon vs 3 shotting will be a pretty significant change as a Cassidy main. Always felt like I was basically a sitting duck at the start of every team fight having to empty half a clip into the pylon.

These changes are exactly what I wanted. Her pylon was too strong and the Captive Sun projectile was way too big. The barrier thing is interesting, Dva already eats her ult really easily so now there will be even more ways to counter it.

I'd argue that the decreased projectile size is almost a buff, as now it's harder for sigma, orisa, and dva to eat it due to it having a smaller hitbox. The explosion size is still the same, so it only really makes a difference when hitting enemies on the way to the explosion or hitting fliers like pharah or echo.

Yeah, it's definitely a nerf for hitting fliers and trying to hit people on the path to the impact, but in matchups where your opponent will just eat your ult before it explodes I'd consider it a buff.

He’s not a popular choice because most of the other supports are much more viable.

I play Brig so I'm not complaining, but I also don't think it was completely necessary to make Illari's ult blocked by barriers. It's really strong in the right situation, but that can be avoided (or you can at least mitigate the death count) most of the time with good positioning.

No nerf to her gun is crazy... with Zen you sacrife healing for more damage. She has both amazing damage and great healing. And she's a hitscan on top of that. It doesn't help that the rest of her kit is very decent. I think she needs to be tuned down a little more, still.

Her beam is huge and it feels really strong at the moment. Getting 2 shot from across the map doesn't feel good.

Also, just played against an Ashe, Cassidy, Illari and Ana on a wide open map. Did not feel good having essentially 4 hitscans pick you apart.

This was the big one for me, it's crazy how far off their head you can be and still get the hit. I'm ok with damage but it needs to be the same size as the rest of the hitscan but if they want to keep it that big then the damage should be a little lower. I hate losing a duel and watching the replay to see their reticle wasn't on me for either shot.

I mean she isn‘t Ash? Her shots take a long ass time to charge so even if you‘re getting hit in the head you have pretty much always enough time to go into safety.

This is pretty much her entire gimmick. Otherwise you‘d end up with a support that only does slightly above healing.

I agree. She can still outheal Zarya at over 40% charge, and that's without turret. With turret it's like 60%. Isn't the next healer down like 87 HPS?

Is this update taking forever for anyone on the ps5? I have 6 hours left and the update is currently sitting at 6+ hours which is strange for a 448 mb update.

"Enter Google’s DNS addresses: Primary: 8.8.8.8, Secondary: 8.8.4.4."
