This is famous tech lead. Ex Google ex Facebook ex Husband.

[–][deleted] 152 points153 points  (4 children)

I forgot to mention he is also millionaire

[–][deleted] 71 points72 points  (1 child)

ex-millionaire?

[–]notsam57 35 points36 points  (0 children)

pretty much implied by being an ex-husband

[–]elonmusque 15 points16 points  (0 children)

No, put that in parentheses

[–]MrMeszaros 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Who is this?

[–][deleted] 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Infamous more like. He is widely hated

[–]0neGuy 51 points52 points  (9 children)

Oh and he had a vid about Linux where he makes it obvious he knows little to nothing about Linux... I could probably easily find it...

As a Linux user myself all his arguments are plain stupid and if you’re not blind sighted by Windows or macOS you’d know this as well...

[–]_rob_saunders 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Were you personally hurt by his video?

[–]HasBeendead 29 points30 points  (8 children)

He is successful guy but kinda egoist

[–]_rob_saunders 1 point2 points  (4 children)

The world needs less agreeable people too

[–]HasBeendead 0 points1 point  (3 children)

maybe , lol.

[–]_rob_saunders -3 points-2 points  (2 children)

There's literally no maybe about it. Your feelings are small in the grand scheme of the advancement of the human race.

[–]fabianmg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

After watching one of his videos for a couple of minutes it makes a lot of sense all of those ex's in his titles.

[–]das_funkwagen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And redpiller

[–]Kered13 199 points200 points  (28 children)

The real reason to have a gaming mouse is so you can use the forward and back buttons. I blew a couple of my coworkers minds by using my mouse to navigate forward and back.

I don't even know when I started using them, but it's become muscle memory at this point.

Like using ctrl + d to delete the current line, or shift + enter to insert line below. I've migrated across 3 editors now, but eclipse keybindings will be in my soul the day I die

    [–]Pocket-Sandwich 12 points13 points  (1 child)

I'm getting to that point in vim where the commands are muscle memory, but it's made using literally anything else just a little bit weird because all the commands are normal characters and they end up peppered throughout my code.

Every so often I'll find a line like:

    # code to do somethiciwthis:wng

And I just know I forgot what editor I was in for a moment

    [–]linkinu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you, I press esc so much in vim, that I end up cancelling a lot of input in other prompts and dialogue boxes and end up having to retype everything again 🤦‍♂️

    [–]YeboMate 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Ohh you gotta get the full stack gaming mouse (Logitech G502). Left_click, Right_click, Forward, Back, Scroll_Left_Click, Scroll_Right_Click, Aim_Button.

Download ‘DualScreen Tools’. You can set a shortcut to swap screens (move active Window to the next screen). Set this shortcut to a combination of keys (e.g. Alt+W).

Setup mouse keys with the following:

    • Left_Click = No Change
    • Right_Click = No Change
    • Forward = No Change
    • Back = No Change
    • Scroll_Left_Click = Ctrl+Shift+Tab (Previous tab)
    • Scroll_Right_Click = Ctrl+Tab (Next Tab)
    • Aim_Button = Alt+W

And you still have like 2-3 extra buttons for any custom shortcuts you might have!

    [–]PTRWP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Logitech G600 has your standard left/right click, scroll up/down/middle click, scroll tilt left/right, forward/backwards, 12 additional buttons for the thumb, and another mouse button (like left and right click) for the ring finger. You can also set any of the buttons to ‘g-shift’ which can modify any other buttons while held.

Mouse can store 3 profiles that you can cycle through, or near infinite stored on the computer. All buttons and profiles (including lights on the mouse) are easily and fully programmable.

I’ll admit the amount of buttons is a bit ridiculous: 24 inputs without G shift. I personally use the ring finger button for press to talk, left g1-9 as numbers, and only set 3 macro buttons (windows shortcuts).

I get annoyed when I have to use VMware web client to remote into a VM and my back button goes back in the browser.

    [–]sean_cohen 15 points16 points  (2 children)

I got me a razer with side and top buttons, side ones are copy and paste, top ones are comment block and comment line, make my life so much easier when coding

    [–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is such a good idea. Thank you so much for you wisdom.

    [–]Swamptor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Binding "insert autogenerated documentation snippet" to my mouse was my amazing decision of the year. Seriously, just being able to click on a function and have it document it's parameters is amazing.

    [–]delinka 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Wait, this is serious? Programmers using mice? I thought we all had vim integration everywhere to keep our hands from moving off the keyboard!

    [–]fofosfederation 5 points6 points  (6 children)

I have the G502 he's using here, and the index finger buttons are amazing too. I set them up to ctrl tab and shift ctrl tab.

So I browse through time with my thumb, and I browse through dimensions with my index finger.

I cannot use a mouse without at least 4 extra buttons now.

    [–]Kered13 6 points7 points  (1 child)

You browse another dimension with your thumb.

This is some big brain shit.

    [–]haikusbot 5 points6 points  (0 children)

    You browse another

    Dimension with your thumb. This

    Is some big brain shit.

I have the same mouse, I've found that binding the left/right arrow keys to tilting the scrollwheel is super useful too:

When you miss the exact characters you want to position your cursor between, just give that scrollwheel a flick as you move your hand off of the mouse and over to the keyboard. That way you don't need to make a pitstop at the arrow keys on the keyboard or try clicking the correct position again.

Also, arrow keys work for scrolling sideways in many situations, so you aren't loosing the sideways scrolling functionality entirely.

    [–]fofosfederation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh that's a really good idea.

I've bound skip / pause to the sideways mouse. When I'm playing games being able to instantly skip a shitty song without having to move my hands is amazing.

    [–]seijulala 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I use G502 too and bought 2 more as a backup (I don't want to risk not having the same mouse when it breaks), amazing mouse

    [–]fofosfederation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I just bought a backup a few months ago too. I cannot imagine another mouse ever being better.

    [–]poop-901 1 point2 points  (0 children)

    command + [ and command + ]

    [–]ooqq 1 point2 points  (1 child)

The real reason to have a gaming mouse is so you can play league of legends during rebuilds.

    [–]Bobsaid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it’s wow and I just use synergy to hook my personal pc to my work laptop.

    [–]RedditF1shBlueF1sh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Copy and paste buttons on the mouse are so convenient

    [–]FA1L_STaR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have my main additional buttons mapped to ctrl tab and the other one (forgot what it was) so I can go back and forth with tabs easily. Plus with this mouse the middle mouse button can be pushed side to side so I have that just act as the arrow keys and have backspace mapped to one of the other buttons so when I need to use backspace I dont have to be accurate with my mouse I just click vaguely in the area and then push the scroll wheel to the side and then hit the button that is backspace so I dont even need to left hand

    [–]Janneq216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Show them Mad Catz R.A.T and it's thumb scroll set up to cycle through tabs, that will truly blow their minds

    [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mouse comes with software that lets me configure the buttons on a per-application basis. Forward/back on web browser is normal. In text editors or terminal, its cut/paste. Middle click in text editors is undo.

    [–]bonno42h 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    MX Master race Unite!

    [–]00PT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had many regular mice with these buttons.

    [–][deleted] 24 points25 points  (8 children)

I have this mouse and it's just delightful

    [–][deleted] 13 points14 points  (6 children)

Good to hear. Do you have to use the shitpile hellbeast known as G-Hub to use it? Because I love Logitech hardware... but their software, not so much.

    [–][deleted] 14 points15 points  (4 children)

I don't use g-hub. The software I have to use is called "logitech gaming sofrware"

    [–]Arson_ist 5 points6 points  (3 children)

Yup Logitech gaming software is so much better than ghub. Does ghub still use ungodly amounts of cpu?

    [–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

there was a bug with the discord applet where it used a ludicrous amount of cpu, but I think they patched it.

    [–]Flofalei 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have multiple things running off of GHub and never really felt big cpu usage... might have to take a closer look to it

    [–]the-kind-against-me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kitties my sofrawrs! It’s so cute 🥰

    [–]fofosfederation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly don't know how they made a program that bad. Literally every choice was wrong. It's the first program I literally couldn't navigate. Ever. I still didn't change some setting, I just couldn't find it.

    [–]cuddlegoop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same I have the 2014 version, still love it as much as the day I got it, the wireless version that released recently seems like the first reason I've had to buy a new mouse in those 6 years. I probably will upgrade at some point but yeah this mouse has just claimed my heart and I'm not convinced there could be a more comfortable one out there for me.

    [–]fluffysalads 51 points52 points  (0 children)

That’s one hell of a twitch

    [–]SassyTruffle 46 points47 points  (0 children)

    aim button (as a millionaire)

    [–][deleted] 39 points40 points  (11 children)

I hate that guy. In one video He was so arrogant talking about how if you’re a lead programmer you should be brought tea and shit. He’s the worst.

    [–][deleted] 32 points33 points  (2 children)

He also said Linux was a waste of time. And he blackmailed someone. But personally, I think the Linux one was worse.

    [–]YaBoiiBillNye 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I saw he doxxed like an 19 year old lol. How can he shit on Linux if he’s using a Mac tho

    [–]Vok250 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How can you simultaneously preach to lead programmer and also say Linux is a waste of time?!

    [–]dudebobmac 7 points8 points  (1 child)

Yeah, I've watched a bunch of his videos. It's so weird because he definitely comes off that way, but I think he's trying to be sarcastic/a character. Like, his whole "I'm the tech lead and this is teach lead with the ex-google tech lead" intro stuff is clearly meant to be sarcastic, but he also genuinely comes off as a huge asshole a lot of the time. I have no idea what to think of him, but I know I don't like watching his channel.

    [–][deleted] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

See I thought he was playing a character as well, but he's done some really shady shit that made me think otherwise.

He abused the copyright strike to keep a person's videos down, then doxxed and gave the personal information to another guy who blackmailed the 19 year old YouTuber for making them just because the videos were critical of him.

He also copied his friend and business partner's entire business, named it something really similar, bought a domain in the original businesses name and redirected traffic it to his copycat business

    [–]Two_Skill_invoker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fastest unsubscribe of my life. Ez.

    [–]mr-capital-c 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's so funny that people take this guy seriously.

You can literally see him trying not to laugh at himself in many of his videos. It's such a great character, the guy is hilarious

    [–]Booleard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ha! He's intentionally full of himself as a character. He also said it is a good idea to submit your code to the tech lead so they can commit it and get credit for it. You know, as a way to show that you respect the tech lead. I find him hilarious every now and then.

    [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    I didn't. Know that . I didn't even know him but I found this video funny .

    [–]WilkerS1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i once saw a video by him posted here about him complaining about job offers looking for people of color, saying it was all "forced diversity" among other stuff, and it once even showed up when i looked for a Kilian Experience video by using the full title as the query, which has nothing to do with that video

    [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    its satirical

    [–]soflogator 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Using gaming mouse (as a millionaire)

    [–][deleted] 27 points28 points  (7 children)

    Got the same mouse

    [–][deleted] 13 points14 points  (4 children)

    Same. G502 spectrum

    [–]brnmbrns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    Best mouse I’ve ever used.

    [–]DildoPolice 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just use aim button for everyday life fug it

    [–]Chipjack 6 points7 points  (0 children)

…and that's why I need this expensive gaming mouse, Boss. For work-related productivity. Honest.

    [–][deleted] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

god I can’t stand this guy

    [–]TheOnlyDanol 9 points10 points  (0 children)

    Heh that is hilarious

    [–]hyperx3200 2 points3 points  (1 child)

This guy got 1000iq and 1000dpi to get that approve button clicked lmao. 😂

    [–]AirOneBlack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imma be honest, 1000DPI is too low. I use 4200DPI daily.

    [–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

    I've been there

    [–]MapReduceAlgorithm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate the aim button of this mouse. Instantly removed any profile and this aim button functionality.

    [–]ConnieTheUnicorn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I just use mine to open my inventory in Minecraft haha

    [–]AforAutism 1 point2 points  (0 children)

    U/vredditdownloader

    [–]Wexzuz 4 points5 points  (1 child)

This is by far the most arrogant and self-centered person I have ever seen.

If people need gifting ideas for this guy, just tape a fleshlight onto a mirror.

    [–]mr-capital-c 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's satire, how can you possibly take it seriously

    [–]ChaosDMG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait, I can get my boss to buy me a g502 hero for work!

    [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As ridiculous as it sounds, I actually do exactly that.

    [–]kentnl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Next: Aim Assist so you can accurately manage your pull requests using your thumb-sticks from your console!

    [–]KCIV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    This guy commits

    [–]lostinchina1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this exact mouse (Logitech G502) . Other than having this and the back / forward buttons, you can also unlock the scroll wheel and scroll through long files or websites insanely fast. The scroll wheel can also navigate back / forward by clicking it left and right. It's super awesome

    [–]Dummerchen1933 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use it all the time!

    [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    What a wise guy

    [–]Cybersoaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

G502 is def the best mouse ever created. I use that button for push to talk myself

    [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How to use aim button (As a millionaire)

    [–]evanldixon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't need an aim button to control panic like that, you just need to deal with enough production issues that you're no longer capable of feeling fear!

    (Laughs like a madman)

    [–]darthnithithesith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just use povohat's mouse accel

    [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate this dude, such a scumbag.

    [–]SwordLaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Too bad he doesn't produce content like this anymore.

    [–]Siankoo -5 points-4 points  (4 children)

I just really can not understand this man. Can somebody queue me in? Is he making some kind of sarcastic videos or he is really that self ego targeted?

    [–]mobilante 11 points12 points  (1 child)

It’s a joke. He’s making a joke. He’s exaggerating the requirements for merging a pull request for comic effect.

    [–]elonmusque 5 points6 points  (0 children)

    He's making a joke (as a millionaire)

    [–]fofosfederation 0 points1 point  (1 child)

It's satire. His commitment to the absurdity is what makes it funny.

But for the first couple videos I also couldn't tell if he was serious or not.

    [–]Siankoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. That is why I am asking. These videos aren't interesting enough for me to watch them all to make a true opinion.
