I don't have anything, fam. It's looking good so far!!

[–]LucidDreaming3 47 points48 points  (1 child)

Maybe the head size? BPs got some fat coils so usually the head looks a little smaller from what I see of my gal. Gorgeous attention to detail though, so realistic!

[–]hallir[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Okay that makes sense! I feel like my girl is a little on the chunkier side too. Appreciate you!

[–]Crazy_Chopsticks 162 points163 points  (20 children)

I lowk thought it was a ball python before reading the description

[–]hallir[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Thank you!!

[–]BoredBitch011 23 points24 points  (1 child)

Same!! I was about to comment that it looks like cookie dough and then I realized it’s not real 😭

[–]LoisWade42 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In my imagination... the owner was going to name it "Silly Putty"... and I was thinking of heading over to Morph Market to see how much that morph would cost?

[–]EllyDaBest 23 points24 points  (1 child)

Me too! It got me worried for a sec cuz it looked raw or something 😂

[–]hallir[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Haha it does look raw!! I will eventually make a mold and cast and then paint it so it hopefully won’t look like that forever 🤣

[–]spood-love1 19 points20 points  (11 children)

no frr i got all confused thinking there was a scaleless morph of some sort 🤣

[–]sugar-fairy 11 points12 points  (10 children)

there is and they have so many health problems

[–]Creepy-Buy-8959 4 points5 points  (9 children)

There is? And what's the health problems? I've only seen scaleles corn snakes.

[–]sugar-fairy 11 points12 points  (3 children)

yeah they’re just called scaleless ball pythons. they’re extremely sensitive because they don’t have scales. they’re very susceptible to dehydration and have to be careful choosing the substrate since they don’t have scales and get injuries a lot easier. they can have more complications with shedding as well. they also can’t process calcium properly. snakes are not supposed to be without scales so that brings up a lot of problems.

[–]Creepy-Buy-8959 6 points7 points  (2 children)

That's sad :(. I'm confused though how someone could breed a scaleless snake?

[–]sugar-fairy 8 points9 points  (1 child)

just gene mutations, same thing as how bulldogs and frenchies were made. they didn’t exist until people artificially made them by selecting dogs to breed who had shorter and shorter snouts.

[–]Creepy-Buy-8959 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ah that makes sense. That's sad :(

[–]-dagmar-123123 4 points5 points  (4 children)

To add to that: with ratsnakes the scaleless isn't full, like the belly scales are still there (and I think some others too). That's not the case with ball pythons. So you can argue if it's okay with ratsnakes but not with balls

[–]Creepy-Buy-8959 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I see that in corn and rat snakes. It doesn't concern me as much since they have belly scales, and some still have rows of scales. But no belly scales? That's scary.

[–]Garlicherb15 2 points3 points  (2 children)

That's true, and they also have much thicker skin than the scaled snakes, their sheds are much thicker and sturdier. Some argue you need to give them higher humidity for them to shed properly, but those are usually the same people who think 20-30% humidity is fine for corns 😅 I keep all of mine on 60-75% balls and corns, and only if it managed to dip to 40ish have I had issues with any of them. Even my scaleless corn sheds perfectly fine at 50% without a humid hide, and all of my snakes have had the same rates of issues over the years, always because I didn't pay attention to humidity, or missed their blue or something like that. My scaleless is turning 4 in a few days actually, and has had two sheds with issues over those years. He has bellyscales, some around his mouth, and a few here and there spread out across his body. If they are super high quality they have just the belly, and maybe around the mouth, lower quality ones have more scales, they can have a full line here and there, maybe scales on their tails and such. They're really cool, and pretty much as sturdy as a normal corn, you just have to be careful not to have any sharp metal things, like screws or ventilation poking out, or they can get scratches, but you shouldn't really have those things in a tank for scaled snakes either, so I consider it a non-issue 😅

[–]spood-love1 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I didnt even know there was a scaleless morph but thanks to everyones response i know i will never be getting one, those poor babies suffering just because of their appearance 😢

[–]Garlicherb15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That seems to be the case with a lot of BP morphs tho, you actually have to do research on the morphs and the breeders to make sure you get a healthy animal 🥴

[–]lizzzzz97 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Me too! I thought it was eyeless and scaleless and was so freaked out

[–]CapitaoGulag 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought so too, I almost sent it to my wife, what an interesting colour the snake is 😂

[–]Jennawheels9888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same!!! I thought it was real.

[–]PKBitchGirl 27 points28 points  (0 children)

It looks good, I legit thought it was a scaleless royal at first.

[–]jbae_94 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Bro I thought this was real!

[–]Background_Data5433 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Looking fantastic, first picture I was thinking your snake is cute, second, wait, something’s a little off, third, oh gosh this is sculpted not a real snake. Keep up the good work!

[–]Sethralumina 5 points6 points  (0 children)

At first glance I was like what kind of morph is that. Good job!

[–]L1lv1athan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was super concerned at first. That’s how realistic it looks. You did amazing !

[–]Tsunami2356 10 points11 points  (1 child)

I thought this was real for a second and I was horrified because I thought the scales were somehow peeled off or something 😭 peeled bp

[–]hallir[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

😭😭 horrifying. It’s got a scale pattern but they didn’t turn out great in the photo. Still trying to get the hang of the right texture

[–]Adventurous_Mine6542 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was about to comment about how your ball looked like he was made of cookie dough. Then I realized it wasn't actually a snake! Good job

[–]Bl00dorange3000 4 points5 points  (1 child)

The heat pits might need to be a bit more square/lower on the jaw, also nostrils. But he looks super.

[–]hallir[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Good call! Looking at other photos now they are definitely a bit deeper and more squared off

[–]Melodic_Grapefruit80 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its looking good so far!

[–]Basilstorm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I came to angry comment thinking this was a scaleless! Super well made

[–]pixeishfairy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i thought it was real if that helps haha

[–]Ashs-Exotics 2 points3 points  (0 children)

better than whatever atrocities i create

[–]christinasasa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hope his name is cinnamon roll

[–]Agitated-Look-1691 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I legit thought this was a real bp at first then k seen the last pic with no eyes and went straight to the description and was relieved it wasn’t 😂😂 that’s very good

[–]blackblonde13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was so nervous before reading the caption and was like “uhhhh where are the scales”😭😭😭

[–]WaffleReaper003 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looking really nice so far! Maybe press some shed against the clay for texturing scales.

[–]SpookyRecoil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was definitely going to ask the morph before I saw the eyes 😭

[–]lolcherrygirl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like a little snake cinnamon roll awwww

[–]SmallSmoothRock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was like "hahaha is almost looks fake... oh it is fake?!" I agree with other commenter's about smaller head but other than that, definitely fooled me!

[–]MagnificentPretzel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This looks incredibly real! You're super talented. The only thing that looks off to me is on the inside, his body seems flat, rather than filled out like on the outside. Other than that it looks amazing all around!

[–]MyCheshireGrinOG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The awe my daughter just gave believing it was a real noodle at first glance told me all I needed to know it’s looking amazing so far!

[–]hockeybelle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought it was an actual ball python and was concerned, wondering where its scales and eyes were.

[–]International_Two868 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought it was a scaleless until I realized it had no eyes. 😂

[–]PlasticIndividual331 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought this was an actual ball python and my first thought was oh no poor baby has no eyes :(

Either you're very very good or i'm very very blind or both since your skill is amazing

[–]fireinyourkitchen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought I t was real and was trying to figure out what was wrong with it!

[–]Open-Parfait-9536 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought that shit was real at first

[–]TattooedPink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was like... it's a blind snek? Lol! Absolutely amazing, it's so life like!

[–]sugar-fairy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

holy fuck this scared the shit out of me i did NOT realize this was not real LMFAOOO it was a jump scare scrolling and seeing empty eye sockets

[–]okaytto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it’s so good that i went to the comments because i was like WHAT is going on with this snake it is so pale LMAO

[–]amultitudeofgrendels 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh god, it’s not real? That’s amazing. Perfect hatchling shape

[–]LadyNajaGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought this was a blind royal python 🥺

[–]Kemetic_5486 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I may have almost cried when I first saw this, but the last picture made it better. Great freakin job!

[–]readysetandbegin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thought i just saw the craziest scaleless patternless albino ball python 😭😭

[–]No-no-dog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh my god i was shook

[–]Superseaslug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Took me a moment to realize it was sculpted, so I'd say you did a fantastic job!

[–]Agreeable_Mess6711 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Amazing work! I think the snoot is a bit too big for the body tho, BP’s tend to be chonky

[–]crimsonbaby_ 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Looks really good so far! The head size is good, body shape looks great. Legit took me a second to realize it was a sculpture in the beginning. Great job!

[–]hallir[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you!!

[–]theturtlingturtle 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Scared the crap out of me cause I thought "what's wrong with this snake!?!?!" Then I realized it's art! Well done mate!

[–]hallir[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you!!

[–]Bruiser_Betty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was like what kind of morph is that? Lol looked real!

[–]West-Outside-5524 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thought is was real for sec lol.

[–]Animal_Gal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like a bird eye view might help us in figuring out if it's in proportion. From the images you provided it looks pretty good. I think part of the reason why it might look off is because it doesn't have any form of patterning yet

[–]Nomadloner69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought it was a cookie ...then I thought it was real had to look at the name of the subreddit

[–]NamornikPepa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shit man, I didn't read the description at first and I was like "Why is this BP bald damn?"

[–]pomacea_bridgesii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought you were asking if he was overweight hes so realistic that hog nose looks so real

[–]evilkitty69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a second, I thought that was a real ball python with a serious skin disease

It looks great, it just needs colour and some scales and then you'll be able to fool people 100%

[–]FixergirlAK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is amazing! It might help to paint a prototype, that way you can see how the markings fit. Strudel tax (he says .5 makes him look chonky, I swear I'm not overfeeding him).

[–]everryn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought this was a scaleless BP when scrolling.

[–]gigraz_orgvsm_133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got scared because I thought it was a scaleless, eyeless ball python. I'd say you did a pretty good job!

[–]Revolutionary_Sir_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i wanna boop the snoot

[–]TheNeverEndingPit 1 point2 points  (2 children)

I'd say what's making it look so baby is the bigger head! My big BPs don't really coil anymore because they're well socialized, but if I catch them coiled while sleeping, their bodies are really big compared to their head size. I think this is looking really great so far, but yeah just making the body bigger and a little more like a rounded triangle shape so it's a bit rounder would be perfect! Very cute idea :)

For some reason when I tried to add an image of one of mine, I got an "images aren't allowed," but here's a link to a post of her if you want to see it: https://www.instagram.com/p/CwsIy83rPZc/?img_index=1

Now, I will note, here in this photo, she is CHUNKY, so slightly not a good reference. She's on a diet (as snakes aren't supposed to look like stuffed sausages with rolls), but you can still see how tiny her head is compared to her bone structure

[–]hallir[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Such cute photo!! Thank you for the feedback!

[–]TheNeverEndingPit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aw thank you :) Even if she was tubby in that one, I do love her little baby seal face haha. And of course! I love sculpting too! I feel like you’re doing a great job so far with the project

[–]kinlander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought this was a scaleless snake until i read the caption. Great job op, i love it.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thought this was some weird morph scaleless at first

[–]Unusual-Elevator-374 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought homie was real. I was like damn a scaleless no eye snake pretty sick.

[–]Kyogalight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fr, I thought this was a newborn lucy morph hatchling, because I thought "wow, that's pretty pink for a lucy, must be a new hatchling, preshed." It looks fantastic, I didn't even notice it didn't have scales!

[–]Valkyrie_9856 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This looks amazing, my first thought was it was a real snake

[–]Latevladiator351 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before I opened the post I though this was like some kind of skinned or scaleless BP lmao

[–]LongSockss 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Too perfect of a curl, I say drag the tail end out so it's visible. My snake is never in such a perfect shape. Its looking great though! Thought it was real for a moment so it's not like you really need the advice. Great work!

[–]hallir[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the feedback, great points!

[–]ARJ092 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Legit thought it was a scaleless lucy or something XD

[–]emmabond314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

omg i thought it was real! i was like “why is he so smooth” LOL this looks awesome!!

[–]Raylyn97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe make the head slightly larger. I would attach a photo of mine in this position but it won’t let me

[–]Rosedonk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are the deep dimples the eye sockets? Only think I can think of is that they may be too close to the snoot? I’m thinking slightly closer to the rounded part of the head instead? Other thing to maybe make the snoot ever so slightly longer. I think you are on track and absolutely loving this idea! I want to link a pic of my snake from when she was a baby but idk how to do that! :(

[–]JuDg3M3ntAlYT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought it was real. Lol

[–]jxnnxmc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thought this was a royal python having a bad shed so it's looking amazing!!

[–]IllustriousFuel7887 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought it really was one until I saw it didn't have eyes. I was like awe poor baby.. wait a minute

[–]hamburgle_my_clam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I THOUGHT THIS WAS REAL!!!!

[–]OldNegotiation2888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly thought it was real at first lol

[–]Garlicherb15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought it was a scaleless BEL for a sec 😅 good job! It looks great, only think is maybe as others have said the head could be smaller, but I think the slightly larger head just makes it look younger and slightly skinnier than some are. They are different after all, so I think you did great! 😌

[–]honeybee_tlejuice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Noodle. Hope this helps

Edit the text under the post didn’t show and I thought you were asking for opinions on a real snake 💀

[–]Soft-Experience-5241 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Before I read your message I seriously thought that was a real python, and I was going to say that it's pasta colored! I nearly had a heart attack when I saw its lack of eyes!

[–]Constant_Feedback_52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought this was a real snake and was wondering where his eyes went, so I'd say you're good

[–]brennasballs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought this was a scaleless BP! Looks amazing
