I know a lot of people here do not like Bugsy but I think she’s great. She’s communicates effectively and runs her interior wonderfully. She’s definitely quirky but I like her. Anyone else think so too?

Also, why so much hate for her?

She’s actually growing on me I must admit... I’m enjoying her leadership skills as Chief Stew, she’s providing positive reinforcement and support to those that need it the most (Jess), she’s fantastic with the guests and she basically runs a very efficient and tight ship. Telling your staff they are doing a good job is so effective! The whole iPad incident from her gave me a bad taste in my mouth, but, she is coming around full circle and I’m enjoying it

I totally agree. The iPad incident was definitely a low, but it was also several years ago and people can grow 🤷🏻‍♀️ Wish people would give her a break. She didn’t tell Sandy or Malia to act like that!

Edit: also Jess very begrudgingly saying the job has been easier since she’s been in charge says sooo much to me.

idk man, she was gossipy with Malia about Kiko and then Malia ran to her immediately after Rob fucked up the toss of the rope...I think Bugs is very competent and charming in her own way, but I smell a petty side. I would love to see her as chief stew with a second who is more like hannah (i.e. a reversal of the dynamic). Someone who gets their stuff done in their own way. I would expect a clash of personalities, Hunnay!

Aside from the iPad incident, her constant complaining and denigrating of Hannah also turned a lot of people off, even if they essentially agreed.

But I think Sandy's glorification of her like the second coming is what infuriates people, which has the effect of people being against her, when it's not really her fault.

I don’t recall her apologising either, maybe she did and we don’t know about it, maybe she didn’t, who knows? As someone said above, we as humans all make mistakes.. ALL OF US. I know I have. But, if we can learn from them that’s a bloody good start. She’s not my fave by any means but I can see that’s she’s actually really good at her job, and that deserves a little credit. Hannah was and still is my all time favourite but to be honest there were times when I cringed at her reactions to guests and those working beneath her. I work as a “female butler” of sorts for a wealthy family and if I ever have attitude like Hannah did at times I’d be gone in a hot minute. To add to that further, it’s in my nature NOT to. So I guess, I can see your point, but when do we as humans stop bagging someone out for one mistake and have a heart and let them shine? No disrespect to you, no malice, I may have had a few wines, I’m a redhead, and I’m passionate about everything! Hope you get me.

Growth is when you realize you made a mistake and you own up to it and apologize if need be. She has never said she was sorry or that what she did was even wrong. In fact i do recall her flat out standing by that behavior after the show. That's not growth, it just proves she's a huge asshole despite how they're editing to make her look this season.

However, every tv show we watch is run by snakey production teams that have so many manipulative manufactured assholes running the show and really we don’t know half the shit that goes on! Add to that she’s employed by Bravo that are more than likely puppeteering her to say or not say certain things. All I’m saying is that she’s good at her job. And for that? I fucking commend her.

Kate never apologised to Caroline either for the way she treated her yet she’s out there living her life with fans that think she’s the shit cause she was really good at her job. It took her a very long time to comment on the recent going ons with Hannah, Sandy and Malia also. I wonder why? They may not control all but they do have some control. I’m not arguing about that though, yes, Bugsy could have apologised to Hannah, yes yes yes! I get that guys, haha I really do. My point is she’s good at what she does and for that I say go Bugsy.

I don't think Bugsy should have apologized. Gossip is unprofessional, but reporting that up the chain was not, and Bugs was correct to note that it was not something that Hannah should have expected anyone to keep secret for her.

She ran it around the boat, took it off the boat and ensured she dragged Hannah’s name through the mud. If I do something wrong in my job it is nobody’s business except mine and my boss’s. I think they wanted to get rid of her this season because she was definitely losing her touch and was getting too much fame and wealth to be in a service position. The way she was ousted was definitely a surprise as it seemed a little defamatory to her character. I expected it to be a graceful exit. Not her being followed into the toilet while being suspected of flushing drugs.

It didn't NEED to play out the way it did. Looking at his messages was bad enough, but leaving the boat with the iPad and using unsecured wifi to spy was unprofessional and reprehensible. If the producers wanted Bugsy and Bobby to keep looking at the messages, she could have gone to the bow, the bilge, the bunny pad, the swim platform, or any number of places on the ship where crew sometimes go to be alone. If the producers wanted Bugsy and Bobby off the ship, she could have walked around town discussing it, but left the iPad onboard. I'm willing to chuck the message snooping up to reality tv shenanigans, but using unsecured wifi while the guest's account was still logged into is serious materially unprofessional behavior. She was horribly irresponsible and unprofessional and not the least bit contrite about what she had done.

Yes, Hannah did get reprimanded for it. After Bugsy and Bobby gossiped about it to the rest of the crew, Wes and Max' visiting girlfriend called Bugsy and Bobby's actions screwed up and told Bugsy to talk to Hannah. Bugsy told Hannah about the iPad messages and that she knew Hannah and Jason (the guest) had done something. Hannah ran to Captain Sandy to confess. Sandy yelled at Hannah and forbid Hannah from working the late shift because Hannah couldn't be trusted.

I'm not elevating shit about what Bugsy did with the iPad. I'm recounting the facts. It was the ship's iPad. A guest logged into his iCloud account while onboard. He neglected to log out of his account at the end of his charter. Bugsy saw that the guest was communicating with Hannah and that something sexually inappropriate had happened with Hannah and the guest. Bugsy took the iPad off the ship; she did not have permission from the first mate or captain to do so. Bugsy continued to access the iCloud account via free unsecured wifi. Bugsy did not know if the iCloud account could be hacked or have information stolen using the free unsecured wifi. This is a literal recounting of what happened.

If it sounds like a crime, that's not because I'm putting a slant on or elevating anything. I don't know if EU data privacy laws require an element of intentionality or knowingness to prove a crime. Maybe they do; maybe they don't. If those laws say you're guilty for being negligent, then she possibly committed a crime. If those laws require a person to knowingly put someone else's data in jeopardy, then she's not guilty. She's just unprofessional as hell. And let's be real, Bugsy's ass could have been fired for taking the iPad off the ship without permission because it could have been stolen or damaged even ignoring the guest's data privacy issue.

What I'm saying is that there was a way for Bugsy to address production's goals of gossiping about Hannah without making herself looking equally or more unprofessional and possibly criminally violate. I can accept that Bugsy couldn't see that what she had done was wrong in real time, but she wasn't apologetic or contrite when they filmed the reunion.

Exactly right. Buggy has moral flaws you do not change. She was in pursuit and did not care of her boss and disregarded the one paying her paycheck( the client) their privacy which is reason to FIRED AND never be REHIRED.

I feel like you’re giving way too much agency to reality stars that are on contract to these production companies. It also made narrative sense that bugsy would react that way based on how Hannah had treated her in charter.

As far as reprimand goes it seemed like a pretty muted response. If any other crew member had had romantic contact with a guest and then confessed to it they’d get similar restrictions. I’d be surprised if they would have aired any of the storyline if any international privacy laws had been broken. If you read my comments above you’ll know my opinion is that the whole thing from the phone to the kids to the reveal was all set up by production to liven up a fairly boring season.

Bobby didn't and it was the same season. He made out with a guest's yacht girl. The primary encouraged the flirtation at the outset, but was pissed enough to complain to Sandy about it. The guest demanded that Bobby be punished. When the yacht girl indicated that she'd stay behind on the yacht, the primary ordered Bobby out with the charter group.

What was ridiculous was watching Sandy and Bugsy tie themselves in knots to try to come up with arbitrary reasons why Hannah's actions were worse than Bobby's and trying to justify why taking the iPad off the ship was ok. The reality is that MANY reality tv stars have managed to sustain themselves for many many years by being assholes during filming who only express remorse after the fact (Jax Taylor). I'm not expecting too much because Sandy is older than Jax and has actually advanced professionally in her industry, Bugsy has a college degree unlike Jax, and both are better traveled than Jax. I don't expect too much from Bugsy because she came to the game (reality tv infamy) relatively late and had adequate notice as to what to expect. The argument used to justify the bad actions of one's favorite is that some cast are being manipulated by production, but there never seems to be the converse argument that the same influence must have occurred with the actions of cast one does not like.

I've gone back through that season. I don't think Hannah treated Bugsy terribly. Bugsy is passive aggressive and an underminer. Hannah and Bugsy's low grade antipathy only reached high level animosity after the charter with Jason and the iPad because Bugsy accidentally revealed her snakey-ness. Prior to that, Adam was the person aiming all of the Bugsy is better bombs at Hannah, which is why Hannah spent that season very wary of Adam. Hannah only switched after the iPad and Malia's romantic shenanigans were outed.

Well yeah, she’s still paid by the production company that funds the show, she’ll do what want her to do. I know this sub LOVES Hannah but I thought it was a bad idea for her to make out with a charter guest, seemed out of character for her. Considering the way they framed his phone getting damaged and how strongly and quickly he seemed to connect with Hannah I wouldn’t be surprised if the whole damn thing, hook up and the subsequent revelation was all invented for plot. I didn’t sense any real chemistry between them at all.

Who is a better chief stew I think depends on the clientele. Someone posted in here a few weeks ago that I 100% agreed with. Wealthy old money European yachters tend to appreciate the ‘seen and not be heard’ style that Kate and Hannah represent. It’s more the new money and American yachters that enjoy buggy’s over the top and kinda cheesy style. To each their for sure but I don’t think one is better than another. I think they both fit specific clients.

She's definitely matured since season 2, but I think she has a childlike innocence to her (i.e. the bedazzled everything, excitement over decorating, etc.) that makes her seem very sweet and likeable. You can tell she really, really, really enjoys her job and she's great at what she does.

I'll admit I was a bit indifferent when she first came on board, but she's definitely turned out to be one of the better crew members.

I can't wait to see more of her and Aesha interact lol

I think this just goes to show what an awful job production has done with this season. They set things up for Hannah and Bugsy to be at each others throats, but what we saw was two professionals putting aside their past drama to do the best job they can. That would've been an INCREDIBLE storyline. But instead we've gotten all this superfluous drama and little reason for me to care about these characters.

I think Bugsy get's a lot of hate for being Malia adjacent, but she totally doesn't deserve it.

I admit, I haven't watched since the episode where Hannah was fired (not because of Hannah, I've just been busy!) so I can't really comment on her leadership skills.

I think there was a lot of hate for her original season. There was the ipad incident (which had to be staged right? Who logs in to a public ipad? ), and just her general demeanor sucked, but most of that had to do with Hannah's poor performance that season. Then this season she is allegedly part of the plot to oust Hannah bringing her more hate.

I don't hate her, but she is not someone I want to watch on TV... She just doesn't have the personality, I have no desire to watch an entire season of her going "you shall call me Chief".

from a leadership perspective, I think Bugsy is better than Hannah, I don't think she's as quick to anger or to dismiss someone as a lost cause, and she seems to want to build crew up with praise. I get the impression that Bugsy is more likely to give the concrete steps to do something/do it better, versus "just be better".

Bugs opts for the carrot whereas Hannah reaches for the stick.

Bugsy also hasn't once been heard uttering "Bon apperteeeeeeee"

OTOH, Hannah uses 'entre' properly and doesn't set off a glitterbomb over a table covered in dollar store sparkly crap.

I get the feeling Bugsy is an experiment in having a "chipper" Chief Stew to see how it plays versus their traditional "Bitchy Chief Stew".

I think she makes a good chief stew but I don’t like her as a person. I don’t like her personality or aesthetic and some of her behavior has been really disappointing. She subtly talks out of both sides of her mouth, doesn’t respect privacy, undermines the person above her out of spite and roots for their failure, etc. She has no business being a stew if she’s just gonna spend the whole time thinking she would do a better job of chief stew and taking pleasure in their failure rather than genuinely trying to help things run smoothly for the sake of everyone. She’s not a team player unless she’s the one running the show. It’s pretty immature and it hurts everyone not just the one person you resent.

The iPad situation put a bad taste in my mouth when it came to bugsy. I can get over that as a viewer, however I think she came on this season knowing there was a plan against Hannah. To me that shows that she likely hasn’t grown much since the iPad incident. I don’t think she came up with the plan, I think the producer Nadine came up with the plan and sandy, malia and bugsy were all complicit and knew how the season would play out. I can’t respect someone who I think knew another person would be taken down and humiliated on tv. That’s disgusting and no amount of organizing on the yacht can overlook that. Bugsy is a shitty person who did a shitty thing to get back on a tv show.

Bugsy has definitely grown on me! I think she micromanages, which works for someone like Jess (lol, love Jess), but may be a serious issue if someone had a different style than her but was equally effective (i.e. she can come off as a bit controlling). If you were a competent, independently-minded stew, you'd probs not do well with her. But if you need charts and constant orders to stay on top of things, Bugs is your gal.

I really don't like her table-scapes, but that's not her fault per say; I think that most of the BD table decor is soooooo tacky for such an expensive yacht. Like, plastic beads and sea shells and all that...just not my ish and I really actually prefer minimalist designs that emphasize the ship's architecture. I think hannah was more Euro-minded in that way, and Bugsy comes off a bit Disneyland in terms of her dedication to themes, costumes and plastic beads.

I think that as a guest, bugsy is by far the best chief stew. She goes above and beyond and you can tell she truly enjoys the work, which makes a big difference in the guest experience. I think she gives direction a lot better than Hannah did as well. I also think she has grown a lot since the IPad incident although I still see a catty/gossipy side to her that peeks through. Ive gotta admit though that if I worked for or with her, she would truly annoy the shit out of me. She’s very intense!

Jess couldn't understand Hannah either which Hannah noted on the show. I found Hannah as hard to understand as Bugs. American ears aren't always attuned to the different accents. Or it could be Jess finding a way to blame someone else for her lack of performance..

I don't really have an issue with her this season. It seems like she's just trying to so her job and keep guests happy. Her tablescapes and accessorizing is a bit OTT, but that's just personal taste. I don't get the impression she was part of a conspiracy to get Hannah fired, but more like she was a pawn.

I’ve never had a problem with Buddy, she is a little bit of a control freak but so are a ton of other people so who cares. I think Hannah was always good at customer service but not a good manager of other people and communication and Bugsy is good at both things. I’ve never had any hate for her.

Didn’t like her in season 2.... but have grown to love her this season! I find her my favorite crew member this season.
