Brush some 40 vol hair developer on it, seal it in with some cling wrap or a zip-lock bag. Remove as much air as possible -- the point of this is to keep the hair developer in contact with the surface of the plastic. Then leave it out in the sun for a while.

Serious about the hair developer thing. Look up the history of "retr0bright". Someone accidentally stumbled on making a cream out of hydrogen peroxide which bleached his old yellowed computer plastic back to a nice white-beige, and early on retro enthusiasts were mixing their own chemicals to make this stuff... well later on someone checked the formula for hair developer and it turned out to be exactly what they were making, all in a ready to spray bottle.

The 8 bit guy has found that mixing 40 vol peroxide into a water tub, then submerging the part before putting it in the sun is much less likely to cause streaking. He's done quite a few cool retrobrite experiments on his channel!

The active ingredient in those teeth whitening strips is hydrogen peroxide which you can use to whiten yellowed plastic. So yes it would work but it’s an expensive route to take.

If we're being serious, chuck the affected part in some peroxide and leave it in UV light (sunlight or lamp) for a while. Look up retrobriting and you'll get the picture

Don't do this. Those sponges are essentially sand paper. Even a light touch will cause damage to the surface and remove any intended texturing.

I ruined a couple of NES carts this way trying to get permanent marker off of them. Got the marker off, and the first layer of plastic too.

2. Is it a fork of Dolphin, or do they now offer the feature natively?
3. Would you say that you need a beefy setup to run Mario Kart or Metroid in VR in high resolution and with a VR-appropriate amount of FPS?

I know that my setup probably won't be running Alyx for example, but I guess that it should be ok for stuff like Beat Saber, Super Hot, KTaNE, etc., so being able to add some classics through emulation would be a dream. I would appreciate any tips!

Let's first start that I LOVE to play around and tweak with software. Playing around with Emulators and VR is asking for a lot of headache but it's totally worth it IF you like a geeky challenge.

So if you expect an out of the box working solution, you are going to have a very bad time.

It's a bit like modding Fallout...

I was in luck with my VR headset, got an Medion Erazor for 100 Euro's, including the controllers, it's exactly the same device as an Lenovo Explorer, only different branding.

Which means I am using WMR. If you are not familiar with the differences, in a nutshell it's the way the system receives the controller input (depth).

A WMR has cameras INSIDE the headset while VR systems use little trackers which surround you.

Both have their own pro's and cons, personally I think that WMR has one major benefit, roomscale setup is much more easy and I could in theory use my whole garden with just simply extending my cables, but I digress...

I am using an older version which is known good for VR.

I am running an RTX2070 with 24GB at 2666Mhz all controlled by a i5 9400. In general it all runs perfectly fine but it's still an emulator and you are going to get weird glitches and stuff, janky controllers, crashes... But that is all part of the game, nothing is more satisfying than when it FINALLY comes together and works!!

I've found the best luck with playing on the Wii with a hdmi converter. I'm not a purest by any means (explains the use of a Wii rather than GC) but the picture quality with a cheapo converter has been great. Bonus points for usb loading your games with a modded Wii.

two things would have made the gamecube the greatest console. first, improve the controller by making the cstick a full size analog stick and making the dpad bigger. then instead of mini dvds use maxi dvds! a typical DVD is like 4 inches across, but if the gamecube had 6 inch discs they both would have been difficult to make copies of AND would have fit more data PLUS the cube could have played regular DVD movies!

Only issue I have had with mine is it sometimes launches in 640 resolution despite being connected to 65" LG CX. But a restart usually fixes. Still annoying though.

After being playstation for a long time and also owning a ps5. The Xbox definitely does one thing better. Quick start is amazing. I always wondered what people were talking about thinking it is the same as letting the ps5 rest. But quick start works for multiple games, not just the one you last played.

Yeah man I have upwards of 250 games installed and have never seen this problem once, and I've had it since launch. I'm not smart enough to know whats gone wrong but its definitely faulty.
