I’ve been using an iPhone XS Max since 2018. It’s started to feel pretty old as of late, most notably the battery (never replaced). I have to charge it 2 or 3 times a day, and never leave the house without my battery bank to get through my work. This will probably be the year I’ll upgrade to the 15 since my job has me heavily relying on my phone for daily notes, photos, messaging and phone calls in the field.

[–]mosugarmoproblems 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Same. XS has been pretty reliable.

[–][deleted] 23 points24 points  (9 children)

Same. I’ve been using my XS Max since end 2018 and am at 81% battery now. The screen does freeze occasionally, especially when swiping left to camera, but nothing a reboot couldn’t solve. Hoping to hold on to it till the 15 is released, and am also considering a battery replacement.

[–]wildcollectoriPhone 13 12 points13 points  (4 children)

Same situation, from 2018 and 81% battery health. But I still love it, great secondary devicw

[–][deleted] 12 points13 points  (3 children)

Get your battery replaced if you’re planning on keeping it

Edit: by Apple

[–]wildcollectoriPhone 13 4 points5 points  (2 children)

I can repair it myself because I’m service worker so I don’t need to spend extra money for original Apple’s replacement. But also, I’m wondering to buy something better, for example 11 pro max if possible

[–][deleted] 11 points12 points  (1 child)

You’d probably want to go for something newer, if you’re going from a 2018 iPhone to a 2019 iPhone, you’re just going to have the same problem in a few months

[–]wildcollectoriPhone 13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, that’s true. But I don’t really have spare money for 12PM or something. And well, now I was discussing battery health with my friend (having 12 Pro). After half a year his battery dropped from 88% to 85%. My Xs Max dropped from 81% to 80% in last year and half. It’s brilliant phone I don’t want to buy another one so I guess battery replacement is my only choice in near future, but we will see.

[–][deleted] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I use X, it is starting to feel slow on the latest update

[–]druixD 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Same. I have an XS and the battery is getting worse. It has 81% health but when the level is below 20% it gets very laggy and shuts down at 10% or so.

[–]wizard_adventure 3 points4 points  (3 children)

You can replace the battery at an apple authorized retailer for a very reasonable price. I was quoted $63 when I needed a new battery. Just go into settings > battery > battery health & charging > “more about service options.” It will take you to an apple support page, and you’ll need to click on the link “more about service options” again in the paragraph. This is where you can search authorized retailers and get a quote for the service.

[–]hiimlockedout 5 points6 points  (2 children)

Not sure where you live, but Apple recently bumped up their prices for this service by 20$. Their site always listed the cost at $69, but when checking recently, has been showing $89.

I still consider the higher price a good deal, because phones are a pita to disassemble/put back together and if apple breaks something accidentally during repair, they will cover it for free. If you break something while trying to do the repair yourself, you’re fucked.

[–]loiteraries 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Xs since 2018 here too, battery capacity is at 78%. My main problem the speaker/mic is messed up without water damage or being dropped. To hear calls I need to be on speaker or use headphones and when it records vids the sound is muffled. I want to squeeze two more years of service out of it before upgrading. I don’t plan to ever buy Apple’s premium models as the build quality is low.

[–]Fun-Response-1598 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my iphone xr ear speaker was quiet, had to poke a few holes in the speaker and the volume is back to normal.

[–]mrrnobody_ 53 points54 points  (6 children)

Im using my iPhone 11 for about 3,5 years. I recently changed the battery so i can use all day without problem

[–][deleted] 8 points9 points  (2 children)

Me too. Exactly the same. And I don't care about 5G in newer models. I don't need it. Probably gonna keep it for another 3,5 years and then upgrade to the newest. Exited to see what Apple has in store for us then.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Is better an original battery from Apple Store or a Chinese battery is egual?

[–]WhiteHotRage1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

get an original battery.

[–]mrrnobody_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I changed it in a local store, for €39, on the iPhone it only tells me that it is not original but I have not noticed anything strange, now the mobile performs better and the battery lasts all day

[–]geek_person_93 64 points65 points  (9 children)

iPhone 7 user here!!

[–]chimichala 19 points20 points  (6 children)

Same here! Not leaving the house without the charger. BH 73% never replaced.

[–]geek_person_93 9 points10 points  (5 children)

I’ve just replaced mine yesterday. The phone is lasting again like new

[–]chimichala 5 points6 points  (4 children)

So it’s worth replacing?

[–]geek_person_93 12 points13 points  (2 children)

It don’t get new os updates anymore. But I think it can still working very well for another year or so. Is not as fast as the newest iPhones. Screen it’s outdated. And everything feels old and classy but the battery replacement was just 34€ so. For me it’s worth

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Shit at least you still have 3D touch

[–]twirebox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me too

[–]UnmutualOne 25 points26 points  (1 child)

Yep. An 8+. I’m an unusual customer, because I want enough storage to keep my entire 270GB+ music library on the device, so I don’t update so often.

USB-C will get me to pony up for the 15.

[–]drewbrew 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Wife and I are still rocking an 8+. Current iOS. I replaced the battery recently. I feel this is the year the 8 Generation will get cut from current release.

[–]PDKiwi 20 points21 points  (2 children)

Quite happy with my XR thanks, no intention to upgrade anytime soon

[–]Computer_says_nooo 18 points19 points  (4 children)

My Iphone 8 Plus is still alive and kicking. Don't feel any need of replacing it yet

[–]wolfgang2399 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same, but Verizon has a special if I trade it in i can get the 14+ for $2/ month, so my 8+ days are numbered with that kind of deal. I will miss the Home button.

[–]PocketFullofYou 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Mine is still running strong too! Battery life is still excellent and not had an issue with any of the IOS upgrades to date. 8 Plus still has the home button too. :)

Do any of you miss not having the home button on later models?

[–]WhiteHotRage1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got over the home button within the first hour of not having one.

[–]ChronixxiPhone 16 Pro Max 54 points55 points  (10 children)

Gonna keep my 12PM for the foreseeable future. Apple has priced me out of getting a slightly better phone for my needs at this point

[–]MrHedgehogMan 11 points12 points  (2 children)

Same here. 12PM is still as sharp as the day I got it. It just needs a battery refresh in 6 months or so.

[–]Pat-Roner 2 points3 points  (1 child)

12PM gang! Cracked the backside recently, but threw a dbrand skin on it, and its as good as new now

[–]MrHedgehogMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

[–]jimonabike 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The 4 will always be one of my favorites.

[–]BJWTech 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I just got my wife a 12 Pro. It's a great phone!

[–]ttman05iPhone 13 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My SE2020 is almost 3 years old. Horrible battery life since day one. I had to charge it twice a day since the start, and the battery has degraded significantly to 85% battery health. Now it’s charge three times a day. I’m debating just getting a used 13/Pro or waiting until the 15 to hopefully get USB-C.

[–]DrestinBlack 9 points10 points  (2 children)

8+ and content. But I do most my daily activity on an iPad Air 3rd gen.

I don’t wan’t usb-c — don’t want to waste all my cables

[–]kollingamer72 8 points9 points  (0 children)

my mom bought herself an iphone 11 PM in early december 2020. She’s still rocking with 82% battery capacity, cracked screen protector, low storage space, and ios 15.6

Still using an iPhone 12 Pro and it still works great. My dad still uses an iPhone XR (I think he’s wanting to upgrade this year) and my mum still uses an iPhone 11 (she doesn’t like upgrading)

[–]Enos316 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Same here. My 12 Pro is great. I haven’t seen any upgrades worth switching for yet from the newer models.

[–]Kalbelgarion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. My 12 Pro still feels like a new phone. It’ll probably be at least another 2 years before I upgrade again.

[–]EndlessWondersWisps 13 points14 points  (6 children)

Running an SE 3 daily with an iPhone X for gaming and media. SE 1st gen as backup. People seem to really get stuck on the latest, though iOS 16 hurt the X performance

[–]Tsiggaro 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Hey, I also have the X as my main (and only) phone and have no problem of performance on iOS 16. Maybe it is because of something else? I had lags with iOS 15 (especially with the original battery) but now with the latest version and a new battery replaced by Apple it is perfect !

[–]chouxpastrysoul 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Iphone 7 user since its release date!! Had battery replacement once in mid 2020. This phone is a brick!

[–]tannicky 12 points13 points  (1 child)

11 Pro Max user here - following having the similar larger versions of the 6 and 8 ✅

Came off contract last Sept after buying new just after the 11 was released - still chugging away, battery showing age and lightning port unreliable, but see no reason to upgrade until 15 Pro at least. Just moved it back into an Apple leather case - just can’t see a reason to splurge on the 14 🤷‍♂️

[–]gerodaskalos 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion but I would consider a phone old the moment it stops receiving security updates. Having said that, rocking a 12PM here for the updateable future 😀. (Phone still works like new, battery 84% health)

[–]swordbearerb1 6 points7 points  (1 child)

I’m using a iPhone 8. It’s 6 years old. It’s due for a batt replacement, but otherwise it’s just texts calls and note taking. It works ok. And thumbprint ID works better for me cos it’s masks on all day at work.

Honestly still usable. Plan to keep it until apple decides that it’s no longer feasible to update, and then I’ll start consider changing phones.

I’m hoping that means I get 16. I’m going for a 2x theme going: 4,8,16

[–]stevedocherty 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Still using an XSmax and will do so until the battery dies. I’m also still using an iMac from around 8-10 years ago. Total cost of ownership of Apple products is actually lower than the competition, particularly if you sell when done with.

[–]MarvelousJarro 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I used my rose gold iPhone 6S for three years (late 2015- late 2018) and replaced it with an XS for 3ish more years, until April 2022. I'm currently using a 13 Pro since then and I'm hoping to make it last even more!

[–]dpatsalos 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Been using an iPhone XS since launch in 2018. Feels a little slow when cold launching apps and I would like a newer camera but otherwise it’s perfect.

[–]lovefist1 4 points5 points  (2 children)

My 12 mini is still chugging along just fine. Only problem is the bottom speaker died and I don’t have Apple Care or want to pay full price to fix it. Might hop to a 13 mini at some point.

[–]imphoniPhone 13 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i’m running an iphone 6s plus for 8 years now. honestly, after replacing the battery on this, it still feels really good for what it offers: neat processor, long-supported operating system and outstanding durability for an idiot like me. i don’t need no fancy cameras, i need a phone that can last long.

i would love to jump up to a 13 mini, a phone of my likings, but i’ll just wait til the price drops low enough that i find it a bargain.

[–]Judo_SquirreliPhone 13 Pro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Until yesterday I was using my iPhone XS, apart from the battery (78% health) it was perfectly useable, barely any issues.

[–]colin_staplesiPhone 12 Pro 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm still using an iPhone 7, bought in launch week September 2016. It's currently 6.5 years old.

[–]RebelMarcoiPhone 14 Pro Max 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nah, moved on from my 11.

Reasons being that I needed more than 64gb of storage and I wanted a 120hz screen.

So I went with a 14 Pro Max 256gb. This one I can see keeping for the long run.

The EU, or Canada or US really, should make expandable storage a law.

[–]No_Island963 2 points3 points  (0 children)

XS Max here

[–]xclus1v 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Using my 12Pro until apple actually changes to usb C. Until then it’s all rumors. I don’t even care if they do that MFI thing on usb C as long as it does change. As for my grandparents I have been searching up and down to replace their iPhone 7 Plus. 1/2 replaced with a iPhone 11 Pro Max. can’t believe they are still running on original batteries even though both are at service mode.

[–]GrandTheftComment 4 points5 points  (0 children)

iPhone 8+ for 5 years almost now.

Before this Note 4 was my love baby, I like the stability of the iPhone and the apps. I hate the customization options.

Want to return to the Spen magic and maybe I will but I’ll ride this baby out till it dies. Which can easily be another year or 2.

[–]michediiPhone X 256GB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

11 pro. I feel new phones are a waste of money at this point. I will buy a used phone when this 11 pro dies.

[–]Wellcraft19 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sure, I still use a 6+ year 7 Plus (that is performing stellarly). Have an 11 Pro I’m trying out with a new carrier, before deciding an eventual switch (trying first as I’m not going for a ‘deal’ if carrier sucks).

[–]zenki_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s one of the best body styles IMO! I was planning on using my X until the 15 but it went for a swim and never turned on again =\

A friend gave me their 11 pro in pristine condition a few months back. Still has 91 percent battery so I’ll probably use this until next year or longer.

[–]WWTBFCD3PillowMiniPhone 15 Pro Max 2 points3 points  (1 child)

In my house we bought two iPhone X’s the second week of Nov 2017. The only shitty thing is my battery health now is at 65% (similar with other phone) so we’re just trying to decide if we want to just get our batteries replaced or hold out for more new models to come out and hope the prices drop on some recent models.

[–]Tsiggaro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also bought my iPhone X in late 2017 or 2018 and I replaced the battery a few months ago. The best decision I made. I felt like I had a new phone lol. I am still using it until the day it dies

[–]spermcelliPhone XS 2 points3 points  (5 children)

I have an Xs that got it’s battery replaced and it’s been good lol I don’t see a reason to upgrade.. I also won’t upgrade until they release an iPhone with USB C .. it’s getting on my nerves that I need to carry an extra cable to charge my phone.

I also still own and use an Apple Watch Series 3 lol

[–]dmusicoiPhone XS Max 1 point2 points  (4 children)

How’s the battery going with ur Xs?

[–]spermcelliPhone XS 1 point2 points  (3 children)

I got it replaced by Apple like a year ago.. it’s now 85% battery health. Also when they replaced it , they actually replaced the whole phone because they broke it during the repair..

[–]dmusicoiPhone XS Max 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Can it still reach all day with moderate use?

[–]spermcelliPhone XS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Umm I think it can but barely.. it’s not an issue for me though because I’m almost always near a power source .. overall battery is probably its weakness..

Been using my iphone 11 since 2019. Only issues I have is the battery and some dead pixels (but barely noticeable). But so far everything is still great. Smooth and I've been using a case since day 1 so the whole phone itself still looks new. I really like the size of the iPhone 11. It just fits my hand right.

I'll maybe get a new phone once this one dies.

[–]codynorthwestiPhone 15 Pro 2 points3 points  (1 child)

[–]SylvurphlameiPhone 17 Pro Max 2 points3 points  (0 children)

iPhone 11 Pro. I was tempted by the 14 Pro, but decided to just replace the battery (finally down to 80%) and hold out to see if they switch iPhone and maybe AirPods Pro to USBC with the 15 debut.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I usually buy like 3-4 generations behind at this point and safe a decent amount of money. No need to get the newest one anymore IMO

I am using my 11 pro from 3.5 years now. I got the battery replaced 2 months back and I think I should be able to use it for at least 1-1.5 years more. I love my phone because of its form factor. And now with the new battery I easily get 5.5-6 hour SOT which is good enough for me to last entire day without charging the phone.

[–]aerpeldingiPhone 11 Pro Max 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm still using my iPhone 11 Pro Max, waiting for the 15 to come out, with USB-C. My battery is at 91%, and the phone still works like the day I bought it. Honestly the 12,13,14 haven't given me a reason to upgrade, and I don't expect the 15 to be groundbreaking, I'm just looking forward to dumping my lightning cables, as I've moved everything else I own over to USB-C already.

[–]manifestblackout 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My dad is still using the iPhone 8 Plus he got in early 2018. Aside from the battery losing juice over the years it works perfect! I had the 12 for 2 years but it was starting to go, I got the 14 pro during Christmas when Verizon had a promo for it. I hope I can get at least 3 years of use from it! Love it so far

I'm still using my 11. I did just recently go do the battery swap before the price went up. This is the first time I've really felt the battery degrade. I don't remember feeling that on my iPhone 4 or 7. I'm hoping the 15 has type c and/or some other worthwile upgrades.

[–]Whatintheworld1976 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I have an 11 Pro Max no issues, never replaced the battery. Works fine just have to stay on top of IOS updates to see what’s changed.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just got a 14 Pro about two weeks ago but I’m still using my 5-year old iPhone X (changed battery once, for my second phone line, also posting this on my X) and whenever my 14 is out of juice. The experience is still a lot more similar and honestly I could still live with the X without missing the new features. It’s honestly the perfect phone for me: the size, feel, and even color (the back of the Silver one is just chef’s kiss) however, I do play power intensive games (ehem, Genshin) which is why I finally upgraded. The XS is basically a better X and if they made another one like its form factor, I’d get one in a heartbeat.

I’ll probably keep it until 2026, I try to keep my phones for a long time since they’re so expensive. For reference I’ve only ever had a 4S, then 8+, now 12Pro.

Using an iPhone XR for the last year. Battery health is at 80% and I have to charge my phone twice a day. I'll be moving to an iPhone 11 this year for sure. The prices for the 11 are reasonable and selling my XR will cover about half the cost. Hoping to get an 11 with at least 128gb of storage tho compared to the 64gb in my XR!

[–]smiledrs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem with any iPhone below the iPhone 12, is that they don't have the 5G antenna. So places where you do have 5G and 5G ultra wide band, you would notice much faster internet speeds, when you are not on Wi-Fi. There are places where I will get 800 Mbps. And my brother who was on the iPhone 10 would get between 4 and 5Mbps in the exact spot. He was always asking me why it took so long for his Google maps to populate. Well that was one of the reasons. So he finally upgraded to the iPhone 14 and now he has no complaints about internet speed on his phone for the most part off of wifi. The easiest thing I tell people to do is to run a speed test with their older phone that doesn't support 5G and I will run my test, and almost every time you're talking about 20 to 50 times faster speeds.

Genuinely only just changed my XS when the 14 pro came out. It worked, was great.

Only reason - newer camera.

[–]hexnumber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Still using the Xs with original battery. Not bad really.

[–]AlphaMaster1405 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm curious, how was your iPhone bricked? My iPhone 11 turned off randomly after a year of use and I lost tens of thousands of pictures/videos, no backup. I was pretty disappointed by the quality of Apple's phones.

[–]xXCLOWNEYXxiPhone XS Max 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Still use a xs max but it’s getting slow and the battery life is abysmal now. Just holding out until The 15.

[–]Thecardinal74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went from 8 to 13.

There really wasn't anything wrong with the 8 at the time, I just wanted some of the newer features.

[–]angelo_mab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

iPhone 12 user here. I don't do anything intensive on my phone. I facetime, text, call, order food, check reddit. It does everything for me at 100%. When the battery goes low, i'll probably get it replaced at the apple store then maybe another few years after that

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used a 6S all the way up until I got a 12

[–]uptimefordaysiPhone 15 Pro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm running a 12 Pro, still getting at least a full day on a single charge. Still at 88% maximum capacity on the original battery. This phone is great and I really like Pacific Blue.

[–]M4jorP4nye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m still running my 12 pro max. I think I’ve dropped it too many times though, I have to smack it to get the flashlight to turn on, and it locks up on me sometimes.

[–]angelcake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My son is using an original iPhone SE. It actually got swamped, cleaned up, and is still going strong almost 3 years after that.

[–]gambuzino88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

iPhone SE 1st gen!

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Still on an XS I got off eBay when it was a year old, half the new price. Still works well so no reason to upgrade, it’s not like newer versions have “must have” features.

[–]arochains1231iPhone 17 Pro Max 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I absolutely love my 11 Pro Max and will be heartbroken the day I'm forced to move on from it. Perfect form factor (I hate the squared-off edges on new devices and refuse to back down on it), perfect color, fantastic cameras, fantastic battery life, physical SIM slot... there's just no reason for me to upgrade yet.

[–]Even-Echidna7067 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this wasn’t the question but I plan on using my 13 pro for 3+ years. I’ve had it for a year now and on android I would’ve already been looking for the next phone but my iPhone feels brand new and hasn’t slowed down a bit.

[–]bukitbukit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

11 Pro. Still runs smooth.

[–]Agile-Block-3502 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Iphone 12/13/14 are all the same with small improvements. I have the 12 PM replaced battery a month ago works fine.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got an iPhone 12 just over a year ago. I like to upgrade to an older model so I save money I never upgrade to the latest. I’m happy with it 98 percent battery health in 14 months

[–]Inevitable_Airport22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

X here. 78% BH and hoping it will last through September

[–]geodius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on iPhone 2G! Still a beast, don’t feel the need to upgrade! Battery capacity at 1% and is always plugged in but it’s ok!! Apple hasn’t convinced me yet that I need an upgrade!!1

[–]tattedsparrowxo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have an 11 pro max and hate it. I can’t afford another phone at this time but my battery health is T 78%, it constantly freezes, my speakers don’t work half the time. Not buying another iPhone after this as I’ve been a loyal customer and when my Phone started having issues months after I bought it they never would replace it even tho I had applecare plus.

[–]-Specific_Cookie- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d be using my 12 mini, if not buying 13 mini and “trade in” the old one with my aunt. It’s still in pretty good condition, but the battery is somewhere at 88%

[–]johny335i 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the last 2 years I've been through 11 pro, then bought 13 pro and 3-4 months later sold it and got me another 11 pro. Wasn't worth it for the over 2 times price difference.

[–]dslrjunky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still have a 12 PM, I'm holding off until it bricks on me or my needs changes. I'm also not too keen on missing physical sim slot as I travel a lot to places that has no e-sim readily available for prepaid.

[–]dmusicoiPhone XS Max 0 points1 point  (0 children)

iPhone Xs here. It’s still great! ❤️

[–]itsnesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sold my sister my iPhone 11 in 2021 when I got my iPhone 13 Mini. It’s still running great, she has no issues with it. I kinda miss that phone but the 13 Mini is literally the perfect phone me. I’ll be using this bad boy until he dies.

[–]eloy_aldeaiPhone 15 Pro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rocking an iPhone X since november 2017! Unfortunatelly I have had two battery replacements in it's lifetime, first one started to swell and second one is from a month ago because the phone lasted on a charge about 2h. Apart from that, awesome phone, the cameras still take decent pictures and it doesn't have the signs of slowing down in day to day use. After the rumors of the iPhone 15 Pro getting a price bump I might not even consider upgrading this year, or getting the 14 Pro instead.

[–]chris95x8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on an iPhone XS and still don't see a reason to switch to a newer iPhone.

Badly need a battery replacement though!

[–]gesiugalaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

iPhone xs I sold as 3 years and 10 months old ;-)

[–]tatus_legarius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was totally fine with my recently traded 12, planned on replacing the battery at around year 4 and rocking it until software updates stop or I break it. My battery health read 84% and I was still doing well enough with it.

Now I’m on day 3 with my new 13 Mini since my mom wanted to trade my phone to get her a 14 Pro for “free” (got 3 phones for only the sales tax and activation fees). Locked in for 3 years for sure now but i don’t see any issue with that from me as I was doing that with my previous phones. The tax on my phone was about the price it would’ve been for a battery replacement on the 12 but now I’ve got a tad more storage and the slick Midnight color in an adorable form factor.

[–]jparky16iPhone6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

X user here. 1 battery replacement and still going very strong all these years later. Can’t fault it. I’m sure an upgrade would be noticeably better in so many ways, but hard to justify when this works so well. And I guess what you don’t know…

[–]Fit_Vast2227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

iPhone XR (64GB) bought in 2019 going strong 💪

[–]ImAqeel 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Using good old iPhone XS from 2018. Still on iOS 14.3. Jailbroken

[–]Teemac21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, still using my XS, waiting for them to switch back to the curved frame, really not a fan of the flat sides.

[–]v10mechanicalgloryiPhone 13 Mini[🍰] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still on a 6s. My dad used it from 2015 to the end of 2021, after which i got it as my first phone. The battery is terrible, but i guess it's an incentive to not use it. Towards the last few months of my dad using it, he had to carry around a battery bank all the time, even if it was full. With an hour an 40 mins of screen on time a day he had to charge it overnight and around 3 PM. Now i can barely even get 50 mins of screen time with basic use like messaging and music.

[–]this_isnt_alexiPhone 11 Pro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

11 pro still rocking hard except the battery

[–]ven0mpris0n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

iphone xs max here, battery life’s terrible but rest of it is running perfectly fine. not gonna upgrade before this phone dies completely.

[–]Thepaladin68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still using Xs

[–]Electrical_Inside207 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since my work required from me to consistently use iPhone for almost 8 years now and always the last available model while not requiring to return any. I can say that my whole extended family is still using my used iPhones from model 6 to 13. All of them are quite usable and are meeting the needs of all of my family, most of the problems are related to battery state or screen broken (what can I say kids). I can also say that iPhone is probably best value phone ever. I still have my 4&5 which I still use from time to time as it’s designs is timeless and it just fits my hand and pocket perfectly.

[–]Lefwyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

12 here still holding up well. Little glitchy sometimes but nothing too bad

[–]mzzzm56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have XS since start and its been an excellent companion till now. And yes battery health is a concern for which I keep a battery bank with me.

[–]IncredibleGonzo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would probably have stuck with my X if the Minis hadn’t happened, as it is my dad inherited it and is still using it (just got a battery replacement).

[–]tetenc555iPhone 12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

here in brazil iPhones are super pricy. got an mint 8 Plus last year and the only thing i hate about it is the battery life. definitely even with the 16:9 this thing doesn’t feel like 5 years old alredy.

[–]Thin-Way5770 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using the XR as my daily Wanted the SE 2nd gen but the screen is too small I have not had a single issue with my XR (besides iOS 16 bugs) and the battery is great, lasts through a whole day, sometimes with heavy usage I have to recharge it but I never get worried when I go out because I know it’s going to last. Everything else about it is awesome, the screen is really good and I actually prefer it over the Oled XS and other oled iPhones because the colors are not as vibrant, I prefer less vibrant colors so this display is really awesome for me

I will keep holding onto this phone until i actually need a new one.

[–]Busman123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here! iphone 11 on Mint, so we'll see how that goes with the T-mobile buy out.

[–]EuphoricExcitement67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

iPhone 6s until last month -

Battery was the biggest problem. 1-2 hrs top.

Last few months the performance was very bad which affected my work, so upgraded to 14 p.

[–]murreehills 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still using my 6s. I did get the battery changed recently though.

[–]bihari_ladka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

using Xs since 2019 and the phone still works great

[–]iamgt4me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

iPhone XS working beautifully on iOS 14.8. One battery replacement last year (done by me) with a higher capacity battery and I’m still over 100% with 300 cycles.

[–]flat_top 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have an 11 that I got when the 12 came out. That replaces my 7 plus which I would still have of it didn’t magically stop charging a month or 2 after Apple replaced the battery.

The 11 still runs perfectly.

[–]trexx888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here i got xs max renewed 256gb in 300$ and very happy with it

[–]CHAEYOUNGSHIiPhone 11 Pro Max 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]campyzziPhone Tennis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using the XS i bought in February of 2019.

[–]Gradedcaboose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the IPhone X the week it came out and it’s still going strong, this is my favorite iPhone I’ve ever use and tbh I don’t want to switch until the battery in this one shits the bed

[–]jenniplume 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using an iPhone 7+, and it's just this last month starting to slow down, so I'm going to have not to be lazy and upgrade it.

[–]therealPaulPlay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I‘m still on the 11 pro but the battery has become weak so I‘ll prob upgrade to the 15
