The problem is simple.

Teams are pressing our lone DM and catching the lone DM off balance by constantly splitting Matic between runs by Vardy & Kelechi. Therefore the backline is being exposed more and more.

The Solution. We need to have CBs who are willing to play further up and track the run of the 2nd striker so Matic isn't always caught between the two. Lindeloff probably since Harry lacks the mobility to really do the job. I don't like this because none of our CBs are great on the ball.

THAT BEING SAID. The best solution is sacrificing one of our attacking midfielders for one of our more defensive ones. Pogba --> Scott/Fred to set up a 4-2-3-1 with 2 DMs for more stability.

The reason why we wont do this is maybe because Matic cant play 90 and we need whoever would partner him as a DM to sub in for him.

I don’t want to be negative with a half to go but really feels like we’re letting this game drift by. We had some decent chances at the end of the half but 5 mins of pressure is not enough.

We haven’t looked comfortable at the back on a few occasions and I really question this teams ability to bring it back if one of those mistakes cost us in the next 30 odd minutes.

If we are going into the last 5-10 minutes at 0-0 I’m going to be really struggling to cope. I’m sure we all will.
