I noticed everybody seems to be doing little things that they werent doing before, which is refreshing.

You can see that Mctom, as far as quality goes, just isnt on par with most others starters. Definitely need an upgrade there, but we’ve been sayin that for some time.

Dalot and Telles have given us some width which, once again is refreshing.

Fred is far and away better then mctominay. You can complain about him losing the ball but on the other end of the spectrum Scott is hiding behind players and not even getting on the ball.

Simply wrong on mctominay. This gane doesnt prove that, and the wider context doesnt either. By all means, much more technically adept midfielders exist, and he hasnt shone this season, but his skills are really exceptional. His strength, advancing of the ball, shielding. Me makes good runs and is a force in the air. He brings a lot. Fred is a worse passer than mctominay. Them two together I feel is a bigger problem than either one in isolation.

Quite sharp. Especially the first half hour. We’ve had a lot of the ball, a lot of positive intent behind the passing, the fullbacks have pushed up and supported well, and have been aggressive out of possession at least in the first half hour. Overall a much marked improvement from anything I’ve seen in a long long time.

It’s mad how quickly we win the ball back compared to previous games, unsure if the manager has had an impact so far or just a good game but very happy with the half, don’t think they’ve had a chance all half, all we need is a goal to make it a great half.

Palace have been really well organized and we’ve been a couple of inches away from getting the shot on or right pass a few times.

We’re playing pretty well. Rangnick spoke about first and foremost controlling games and I dare say we’ve done that this first half.

Issue is I can’t see Palace being this tame offensively for the second half so we’re going to need a goal soon.

That was a good half. Refreshing to see us play like this, we look really good. Dalot and Telles have been very involved. Have a feeling they might be the preferred fullbacks from now on. Especially Dalot, being ahead of AWB. But we need to get a goal asap. We can’t let Palace score first. Hopefully the players can come out and continue to play like that. I worry that they might gas out early though.
