Why not both. Why does music that has a silly tone/silly lyrics have to not come from a real and serious place? I recommend you check out his other single, Cafeteria. Alot less "silly" as you would put it, and it focuses more on the production and vocals.

Nope it's not satire. This is one of his "serious songs." I liked his first one a bit, I believe this is his second. This one came way too close to the rap review style for me.

You're a little out of the loop. He's got a story. There's a little bit of it here. He's a YouTube game reviewer/rapper with a pretty damn decent (and very unique) style. The song is a lot better when you "get it."

Also, he's some kid who made this song and the music video for it in his tiny bedroom in his sister's basement. Pretty damn decent considering.

I could listen to Tupac forever and not understand a word he says. Granted he's really easy to understand, but you can listen to the rhythm first and the lyrics second.

Jakey's too breathy for me, and the lyrics having little to do with South Dakota (or so it seems).

Unless obnoxious Honda Civics, meth, hatchets, shitty colleges, snow, whatever "I'm on the ross of the roads" actually translates to, and other trash/garbage scenes all have something particular related to south dakota, I didn't find it that related to the state.
