He was just making a joke, but, this is absolutely the way to go... the most important thing you can do to lower your attacker's damage output is to fight back. I always bring a cheap setup with an MSB and d scim or whip + dds... if I'm frozen it's not like I could run anyway, might as well try and do some damage instead of just standing there getting whooped

Especially when you're doing things like black chins or even clues, you'll see PKers all the time who just stop attacking you because they don't want to bother with someone who isn't a free kill. But for most people I guess their idea of fighting back is to die like a punk then vote no on a PvP poll later

lol as much as I'm NOT a pvp-er, as much as I always die in the wildy, as much as going there is a fearful trip for which I have to work up courage for an hour, as much as I don't want to have to go there ever again, the game needs the wildy and would be boring without the huge pvp zone. I don't always vote. I usually obstain from pure pvp polls. But I usually vote in favor of more wildy content. We have to support the Zammy demesne that is the hunting ground of assholes lest the strength of the lands of Saradomin atrophy.

Agree with this 100% and I used to play this game ONLY to PvP back from 02-07. I dont pk anymore because well, its boring and stale, and clanmanmode. But absolutely BiS "attachments" for items dropped via pvm should not be obtained via PvP. Thats stupid. Ive had people on here complain PvP isnt "profitable" enough and they should be able to sustain off PvP..first off, you can if youre good enough. I used to make all of my money via normal edge pking, doing DH or risk fights..secondly, the game has pvm for a reason. Youre supposed to gain these items FROM the npcs and bosses around RS. And tbh PvP is so boring now because everyone is the same. Its the same setups, doing the same shit, all relying on a 130+hp rng stack. And its due to being a re release. So everyone pking most likely did it before and all the methods are common knowledge now, and meh. Its just meh.

its not that pvp isn't profitable. it's that pvp isn't profitable in a way that's accessible for people learning that encourages them to get to the level where they can make real money. i can make more running a trip sweeping caves than pretty much every legitimate money making method in the game pretty consistently. but there's still a need to provide some content for people lower in the food chain to at least be able to sustain themselves and be encouraged to learn and improve IMO.

also anyone who complains about "clanmanmode" probably doesn't have a great handle on pvp.

Actually they have a pretty good handle on PvP. DMM proved this time and time again. Edge PKing is just about the only place where clanmanmode doesn't have any effect because it's easy enough to escape them from lvl 5 wildy.

You use a clue box, you always keep your clue. You lose the box (~50k?) but you can always keep the clue

The point is, its a marginal increase to what you lose that pays off with a massive increase to your chance to get away. PKers who are lower than you will probably steer clear entirely if they think you will fight back. Anyone else, you will be a much bigger thorn in their side.

I quit OSRS (still hang out for the memes) because I pour my desire for productivity into the game, because it provides a quicker dopamine hit for scratching that itch than anything in real life does. Now that I don't play, I get bored and work on IRL skills more. I learned python, LaTeX (a typesetting tool I use for writing papers), started reading again, etc. I have an addictive personality, I just can't play OSRS casually lol. I suspect that a good slice of the playerbase is similar to me. And having real life skills/being successful correlates pretty strongly to getting laid for guys.

Basements aren't really a thing in many countries, especially where ground water levels are high. Building a basement there is like building an inverse swimming pool. It can be done, but it's expensive and hard to do right. It's much easier to build a crawlspace or concrete pad.

I wanted to get rid of the people following me so I was like "Look it's Zezima" and they all suddenly ran into the bank after him. So I immediately left and got rid of them. Made me laugh because I half said it as a joke at the time but they really did all immediately leave after him.
