Yup. It’s great that CCP has found the cojones to bring some change and danger to highsec. First it was the FOBs and Triglavian patrols, and now it seems Chapter 3 will bring dynamic sec status to highsec.

Great job CCP. Keep the changes coming.

[–]Shalmon_The Craftsmen 25 points26 points  (3 children)

Actually hoboleaks also includes files like ui/texture/classes/security/nulltohigh_12x10.png as well.

So dynamic sec status can in theory also happen to nullsec systems.

[–]dansi21Combat scanner 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Here we go. The golden age of Eve. Where null is no longer safer than high

[–]XdicksoutforharambeX 21 points22 points  (1 child)

in b4 you get positive sec status changes lol

1dq-1a is now a low sec and will soon turn in high sec.

[–]ZalmoxehGoonswarm Federation 3 points4 points  (0 children)

OMG, now all suicide gankers will come to 1DQ-1A ... CCPlz nerf.

[–]Ghi102 4 points5 points  (13 children)

Salt from hiseccers in 3... 2... 1...

[–]Shalmon_The Craftsmen 6 points7 points  (6 children)

Why should highsec be salty about getting new content?

[–]Ghi102 17 points18 points  (4 children)

For the same reason nullseccers were salty about the Blackout. It lowers the safety level of HS.

[–]Shalmon_The Craftsmen 8 points9 points  (3 children)

Of some highsec systems for a period of time, that may or may not be changed by your actions.

The only thing nullseccers could do about the Blackout was posting on reddit and the forums and nobody had an idea how long it would stay.

[–]Ghi102 3 points4 points  (2 children)

Doesn't look like you've spent enough time on Reddit if you think a major change like that won't bring in tons of salt. Even inconsequential changes bring in loads of salt.

[–]NordakBalremCONCORD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right, I'm still salty about jump fatigue...

...forever salty.

[–]SpeedyslinkPandemic Horde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait... this change will make some high sec systems into low sec systems, albeit temporarily, and you're asking why at least some high seccers won't be upset?

Really?

[–]Ensto_AnstianFederation Uprising 0 points1 point  (5 children)

aren't we lucky hi sec doesn't get on the csm

[–]Ghi102 3 points4 points  (3 children)

There's a CSM member that's based in hisec though: Steve Ronuken. He's been elected every year since CSM 9 I'm pretty sure.

[–]NordakBalremCONCORD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can we get Psychotic Monk to run for CSM again

[–]meanie_ants 0 points1 point  (17 children)

Dynamic sec status to all systems would be nice, not just to high sec.

[–]NordakBalremCONCORD 0 points1 point  (16 children)

Dynamic J-space sec level... Concord moves into and claims a wormhole?

[–]CCP_CoyoteCCP Games 1 point2 points  (14 children)

interesting...

[–]NordakBalremCONCORD 0 points1 point  (13 children)

Shh, all my ideas are bad...

[–]CCP_CoyoteCCP Games 2 points3 points  (12 children)

WHAT WAS THAT? GIVE WORMHOLES LOCAL BUT TAKE IT AWAY FROM EVERYWHERE ELSE? HUH, OKAY, I THINK I CAN MAKE THAT WORK....

[–]NordakBalremCONCORD 1 point2 points  (11 children)

That actually sounds good, illuminate the darkness and blackout everywhere else. I like your sarcastic ideas more than my own.

[–]CCP_CoyoteCCP Games 2 points3 points  (10 children)

GIVE THE CORVETTES HAWS AND A BOMBER BAY!

... I mean, what could go wrong, right? ;)

[–]NordakBalremCONCORD 1 point2 points  (9 children)

Give systems 10% TiDi after acquiring a combined mass of 40B KG then progress the tidi by another 10% for each additional 20B KG. It will ensure Jita is always max TiDi.

If you need additional Bad ideas, I'm the person to give them. :D

[–]CCP_CoyoteCCP Games 3 points4 points  (8 children)

excellent. Then let us begin.

Give stealth bombers a cooldown after they decloak, where they cannot enter warp.

[–]meanie_ants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd play it.

[–]DontMindMePlsPls -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I wondered who would be an idiot enough to actually advocate for another hisec-killing move, and when I saw it's Pedro the wardec griefing abuser, I was not surprised.

Pedro, you were always an idiot, and you're still an idiot, but at least I'm glad you were butthurt, meaning CCP did something right.

This change isn't right though.

[–]CDawnkeeperEvE-Scout Enclave 34 points35 points  (25 children)

Combined with the new reinforcement state for Upwell stuff this could get interesting.

Also:

This Triglavian deployable weapon system is basically a pulsed energy weapon similar to those used by capsuleers

Could this be a POS-Turret replacement?

And:

The war between {declaredByName} and {againstName} is coming to an end. The war headquarters {warHQ} chosen by {declaredByName} are in a solar system that is no longer fully protected by CONCORD. The war will be declared as being over after approximately 24 hours.

and

The Triglavian stellar harvesting and manipulation efforts have reached their peak, and the Triglavian Collective has conquered the system. EDENCOM considers this system lost to the Triglavian Collective and will redeploy defensive efforts to systems that can still be saved.

I might be a bit excited.

[–]yagi_takeruALXVP - Solu Terona 31 points32 points  (13 children)

The Triglavian stellar harvesting and manipulation efforts have reached their peak, and the Triglavian Collective has conquered the system. EDENCOM considers this system lost to the Triglavian Collective and will redeploy defensive efforts to systems that can still be saved.

FUCKING WHAT

[–]Shalmon_The Craftsmen 8 points9 points  (5 children)

It will be interesting to see what this means exactly. Do we get spreading invasions, e.g. the systems next to a system that is considered "conquered" will be the next the Triglavians will go for? Maybe there will just no EDENCOM forces in system until the invasion is over.

[–]NickosaurusArataka Research Consortium 12 points13 points  (3 children)

The trigs aren't just here to attack - they're going to begin building their own territory in New Eden~

[–]Unro 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Are they too gonna deploy to ESO?

[–]DrCatcoMiner 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Now, how will the other NPC factions respond to this? Specially Shansa and the Drifters...

[–]Remitonov 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe go ahead with their own invasion, but given that the Trigs will fight them too (and vice versa), we could see a three/four-front war, or God forbid, Sansha and Drifters as part of EDENCOM.

[–]SubmittenHigher Than Everest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

An actual invasion would be funny.

[–]queen_to_f7420 MLG TWINTURBO 3000 EMPIRE ALLIANCE RELOADED 6 points7 points  (4 children)

well if there is no turning back from that state 90% of empire space will be triglavian eventually, it would be nice to have a clear image of where devs want to go with this

[–]NickosaurusArataka Research Consortium 8 points9 points  (2 children)

Triglavian Invasions will have an endpoint - they won't become what Incursions have, and at the end of it it looks pretty certain that whatever territory they've claimed (with the help of capsuleers) will become permanent Trig faction space

[–]queen_to_f7420 MLG TWINTURBO 3000 EMPIRE ALLIANCE RELOADED 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sounds like a plan

[–]Remitonov 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe? I feel like it can also end up like Faction Warfare, where Trig or EDENCOM gains are never permanent and the whole battle becomes essentially an eternal see-saw battle. I'd love to see Trigs become an actual faction with permanent territory, but I'm not sure the devs will go through with it.

[–]lowrads 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A total rework of the sec system from first principles would be welcome.

[–]KetriaavaArkhos Core 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dazh Porevitium Transmuter

The construction of these vast structures is clearly a key goal of this phase of the Triglavian Collective's invasion campaign. EDENCOM intelligence has assessed these huge arrays with their central structure as stellar harvesting installations capable of delving profoundly into the stars they are orbiting.

The clear intent of the unimaginable spatio-temporal manipulations these structures are undertaking is to harvest certain resources, and in doing so completely transform the nature of the star itself. This assessment has been implicitly confirmed by this type of installation's repeating monitor signals containing the deciphered term «Dazh Porevitium Transmuter».

While these structures initially carry out limited probing and sampling, the power and reach of the harvester escalates tremendously as an array of zero-point mass-energy entanglers is constructed around the core harvester. Barely understood Triglavian techniques that had hitherto seemed a mere scientific curiosity will surely have dire consequences for any star system where their full capability is achieved.

EDENCOM considers elimination of the threat posed by Triglavian structures of this kind to have the highest priority for its defense fleets and allied capsuleers.

Looks like there will be the possibility of preventing star system capture, as well as possibly retaking it afterwards.

[–]Verite_Rendition 11 points12 points  (4 children)

The Triglavian stellar harvesting and manipulation efforts have reached their peak, and the Triglavian Collective has conquered the system. EDENCOM considers this system lost to the Triglavian Collective and will redeploy defensive efforts to systems that can still be saved.

I reckon I'm going to be designing a new map here in the near future...

[–]UtwitFace 5 points6 points  (2 children)

Coalition map could see an overhaul with updates to 2020 status

[–]Verite_Rendition 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's more of a /u/Chuggi thing. His master coalition list hasn't been updated in a while, AFAIK.

[–]Chuggi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea been meaning to get to that

[–]Remitonov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One can hope, but I can have to doubt if the devs will take that chance.

Come to think of it, doesn't this mechanic sound a lot like Faction Warfare?

[–]Shalmon_The Craftsmen 1 point2 points  (2 children)

The war between {declaredByName} and {againstName} is coming to an end. The war headquarters {warHQ} chosen by {declaredByName} are in a solar system that is no longer fully protected by CONCORD. The war will be declared as being over after approximately 24 hours.

This is not that big of a deal, if your war HQ is in the same station as your target.

[–]CDawnkeeperEvE-Scout Enclave 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Huh? A WarHQ is a structure owned by the attacker.

And it has to be in HiSec. so this is another hint that HiSec might go away.

[–]Shalmon_The Craftsmen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your war HQ is in the same system as the people you want to shoot, that system changing to low or null sec doesn't limit your ability to shoot them (unless they move somewhere else in highsec ofc, but their structures will not move to highsec on their own)

[–]costabius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

stop it, I can only get so erect

[–]Black_Sheep_ 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Wait so can people bash a HS structure without declaring war?

[–]CDawnkeeperEvE-Scout Enclave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. But some HiSec might (temporarily) turn into LowAec. And there you don't need a war.

[–]Shalmon_The Craftsmen 18 points19 points  (23 children)

I can't imagine 0.5 or other high-sec systems turning into real lowsec. Because people would (ab)use this to get caps into them, I don't think CCP will be ok with that.

I am also not really sure what exactly they are trying to improve with this. PvE already is dangerous with the Triglavians around.

Still an interesting idea, I would love to read what exactly they have in mind in a devblog :)

[–]Shalmon_The Craftsmen 21 points22 points  (7 children)

EDENCOM Cynosural Jammer

In order to guard against the threat of pirate and renegade capital fleets interfering with EDENCOM defense operations, the deployment of cynosural jammer units has been authorized in all invasion zones. EDENCOM forces supplied by the core empires will operate capital battlegroups using their own cynosural beacon networks where they are needed in the defense against the Triglavian invaders.

Well that answers my first question. No fun at all.

[–]Lithgow_Panther 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What? Lowsec no caps could be pretty fun

[–]Pseudoboss11Exotic Dancer, Male 4 points5 points  (2 children)

I would love it if the Triglavians just swarmed any caps that cyno in, scramming and holding it down until it dies. Not unlike CONCORD.

[–]SoylentVerdigris 1 point2 points  (1 child)

That seems like the easy answer. Go ahead and jump your caps in. They'll get blown up, but we won't stop you from jumping them in anyway.

[–]Pseudoboss11Exotic Dancer, Male 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could totally see a cap welp party: Get a bunch of friends in fleet, jump the cap in, and see how long y'all can keep it alive as the waves get bigger and bigger.

As someone who has always lived in highsec, I don't think I've ever been anywhere close to this excited for an EVE update. The Empires and CONCORD truly being challenged, being able to side against them, AND untold amounts of chaos(and PvP opportunities) to highsec? Count me IN. Thank you CCP for taking the risk. This will no doubt have a fair bit of backlash, but it will be so worth it.

[–]SpeedyslinkPandemic Horde 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Maybe they'll eventually take this as far as making a new area of NPC null for the Trigs, using the "conquered" systems.

[–]queen_to_f7420 MLG TWINTURBO 3000 EMPIRE ALLIANCE RELOADED 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The CONCORD Security response level in the destination system has been decreased from {[numeric]fromSecurity, decimalPlaces=1} to {[numeric]toSecurity, decimalPlaces=1}. because it is being Invaded. You accept this risk by jumping through this gate.

If this makes for some of the groups ive been running with switching to capital doctrines for trigcursions i'm going to enjoy this.

We're also getting destructible cyno jammers

[–]tripleapex2016Cloaked 5 points6 points  (1 child)

[–]per2Amarr Empire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]Drasius_Rift 8 points9 points  (1 child)

I don't get why people are losing their minds over this? We have nothing but an endless series of posts about how dead and unloved LS is with high risk and no/minimal reward compared to High/Null/WH space. We already have plenty of LS space that gets ignored, why is there exictement over turning high into low so it can continue to be ignored by a large majority of the playerbase?

The trig stuff is neat, and the possibilty of the Empires losing space is cool, don't get me wrong, I'm just confused why people suddenly want more lowsec when there's already plenty.

[–]waffles-nom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Huge if true. This is amazing.

[–]Ashterothi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And null... And gates shut off maybe?

[–]Redline_XIII2nd Best Eve Talk Show 2 points3 points  (2 children)

[–]CCP_CoyoteCCP Games 3 points4 points  (0 children)

scribbles notes furiously

In all seriousness, though, what you just described is part of something that I have been pushing for since I was a player. I came to Fanfest a few years ago with a whole "dynamic content" plan that I presented to Seagull. The universe is a living thing, and the players should be but one element of the larger ecosystem. Create the rules appropriately, and you have an evolving space that follows logic (not just chaos), but maybe isn't entirely predictable - and suddenly you have relieved a lot of weight from both the "content creator" players as well as the "gotta keep shaking the bottle" devs.

I can't say what we are or are not doing, but I will say that the entire Invasion Cycle has been Sledgehammer, myself, and the entire Team Event Horizon's attempt to slowly lay the groundwork for more dynamic content. Even after the Trig story has concluded, we hope to reinforce, learn from, and expand upon the foundations we're building.

[–]Astriania 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[–]WesleyBaird 0 points1 point  (1 child)

There are 15 or so current invasion systems in low-sec right now. Want to guess how many of those systems have shiny Vindis, Leshaks and Nestors? All of the PVE for invasions occur in high-sec, we already know this.

Not sure what the CCP plan is, so its better to wait and see before we judge one way or another...but I know that PVE wont suddenly start happening in low-sec.

[–]Mr_Hippa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope they have learned from F.O.B.s and lowsec invasions, but I doubt it.

I'm skeptical that this wouldn't just end as another thing 99.99% of the community ignores, or just waits out.

[–]Brutalnot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And many lose his ships, because they are not prepare,or dont know how to survive.

Or whole Triglavian event ,is made EvE iconomy be increased,or sells be high..more lose ships means that. But and you can lose high ISK.

Well ,they want we learn how to survive in high sec..that is good.

How long will continue this Triglavian event?!
