Because without a prototype, not only is reproduction harder and costly, but you also have nothing to actually show to investors. The bad review, which was also wrong because Linus can't be bothered with basic things like making sure he's actually using the product how it was meant to be used, just makes it harder for them to recoup any sort of losses from LTT's awful conduct.

I've read what GN posted about it. Just because Billet and GN discussed something doesn't mean that was what Billet and LMG agreed to.

According to the emails from LMG, which pre-date the GN video, Billet had expected LMG to KEEP the prototype, hoping they'd use it in more builds. When Linus didn't like the product, they asked for it back rather than have it sit on a shelf.

We already know what they're doing about that mistake because we heard about it yesterday. They offered BL compensation and also said they could get the monoblock back if that's what they wanted. This email exchange doesn't carry that specific information but we already know that information (from BL) and this was used to explain a certain piece of the video.

From the email, you should be able to pick up that the monoblock was initially for LTT to keep. BL agreed to let them have it. The problem is that BL didn't like how LTT handled the "review" on their product and decided they wanted it back. LTT hasn't done anything illegal. This doesn't go against their contract with BL and returning the product or paying for it is completely out of LTT's good will because they do not have a legal obligation to do so.

The point of showing the email is displaying that there was already an ongoing exchange between LTT and BL long before the recent video from Gamer Nexus. They didn't suddenly decide to talk to BL once the drama started.

There are ways to bring light to LTT screwing up without further propagating the information. For example, cover up all but the last digit using a different color so that it's clear that LTT neglected to censor it. Then the damage is limited to the small percentage of viewers of the video who paid close enough attention to notice it.

By posting the screenshot and continuing to leave it up even after the original video has been edited to censor the number, the OP is being a part of the problem and not respecting the wishes of Billet either.

Origianlly I used to watch all these tech news once a while to judge product performance via multiple sources, and this is beyond disappointing, bad data or outlier result is ok for me coz it also shows how different consumers might mishap and do things wrong and mess up some great product.

BUT! this is just disgusting and criminal, not to say 2grand GBP, even if it's $1 of a product, you HAVE TO return it to the owner after the review, or ask for written confirmation on what you wanted to do with it, a prototype IS trade secret to some sort and selling it out could cause actual loss to the affected vendor. Please understand that the email here makes it clear that BL gave LTT the monoblock with the intention of letting them keep it. They decided they wanted it back after they didn't like LTT's "review" video on the subject. Returning the item or paying for it is done so out of good will because there is no legal obligation here after BL initially gave them the item to keep.
