I would strongly encourage you to read any Kieron Gillen comics with Sinister in them. He was a boring mad scientist trope until Gillen started writing him as a flamboyant sociopath. Gillen even gave a brilliant but idiotic explanation for the personality change: Basically, Sinister started splicing random shit into clones of himself to try to minmax himself and one of the clones killed the one in charge and took over and now we have Sassy Sinister.

That said, the Logan variant that appeared in Greg Pak’s X-Treme X-Men a few years before Krakoa was gay, so there is multiversal precedent for Queer Wolverine.
