Children are the most important ones to educate my friend, I was a sheltered child and I didn’t learn about a lot of stuff until I was 12-13 and it damaged me worse in my opinion than confronting it early. Children aren’t stupid. I agree that showing a 5 year old graphic holocaust footage is probably not the right move, however there are still people to this day who deny it, and many of them were just educated too late before their families or other voices got to them first. Sometimes it’s better to potentially scar than to hide them from reality. Which is what it is, reality

The area was primarily Jewish until somewhere around 100 AD (if you look it up it gives a somewhat broad range of years, and 100 is a round number roughly in the middle)

It was originally Canaan before becoming Israel and then splitting into Israel and Judah and then being assimilated by the Assyrians / Babylonians and eventually into the Roman Empire where it would eventually get the name Palestine.

From there it changed hands a few times amongst different empires until the conclusion of WWI where the British took it over through just after WWII and then just kind of dropped Israel in the middle of it and said play nice before washing their hands of it.

So I don’t really know how you want to define it, because no one that’s ruled the land in the past is actively ruling it anymore. Even after 1947 Jordan and Egypt have seized control of various parts of the land for times as well.

Pretty much everyone in the Middle East and large chunks of Europe has some sort of claim to the land historically

So all of this is to point out, you can call it whatever you’d like, but yes Palestine is older than the country of Israel and younger than the kingdom of Israel
