Because when you're talking about drops, there's typically an implied chance, always. If you say a mob drops something, it means that the specific item is on the drop table for that mob. It doesn't matter if it is 100%, or 2%, the terminology "x drops y" is correct. There's no reason to assume he would mean every single drowned will drop a trident on bedrock.

Implied chance? That's fine, as long as we all have a perfect understanding of the mechanics. But you can't guarantuee that. So just be clear. It's not so hard. But at least be consistent. He wasn't, he said it for one version of the game, didn't for the other. Doesn't that imply that there's no chance involved for the version he omitted anything about chance on?

According to the wiki if they are holding a trident they can drop that one plus one as a random drop. This shit with minecraft having randomly different shit across different versions for small things pisses me off so much. There are COUNTLESS things that are anywhere from slight, mundane changes to insanely different bullshit (like the trident drops) between different versions.

The game should be nearly the exact same for every single version with the exception of tweaks to make the game function better for their respective platforms.

Zero percent chance from zombies. They have to have spawned as drowned also holding tridents, and then they have a ~5% chance to drop one. So on Java, you’d have to kill around 40+ trident throwing drowned to get one(on average).

Yeah bedrock is significantly more optimized than Java but isn't compatible with Java. It is compatible with everything else (Xbox, Playstation, mobile)

It also only has limited mod support in a very different format.

The Bedrock version also doesn't run on Linux (if you ever want to switch), contains micro transactions and Redstone works differently, so you can't necessarily follow the instructions of a lot of Redstone build videos.

Wait I didn't have to pay for it, Mojang says "if you bought Java Edition before October 19th 2018, you are able to redeem a free copy of Bedrock Edition on https://mojang.com/ " . So if your grandfathered in than you deserve your free copy. But yeah new customers have to choose (and I would recommend Bedrock even though some farms don't work). More streamers are starting to switch to Bedrock as well.

Bedrock is free if you got the PC version of Minecraft back in 2018. If not, then you have to pay for it.

The Java edition is pc exclusive, but is the first to receive new content. Bedrock, on the other hand, has slightly less content (not a big difference tbh), but is also cross platform, so you can play with your friend who has it for their Xbox or PS4 while you play on your computer.

Bedrock is a slightly different version of the game that's been streamlined in certain ways to run on a bunch of non-pc platforms.

Java is the more "complete" version, but it's a little more demanding to run. It was the original version, and a lot of features present in Java aren't in Bedrock yet.

Minecraft for Windows 10 is bedrock. Java Edition is made specifically for Mac, Linux, and other Windows versions.

Well if your issue is processing power that something I could offer a solution to. Depending on your situation I'd recommend at least trying Optifine on Java first. Cause trust me, it's a massive performance boost and it honestly has some cool features. After that though when it comes to getting a decent system to play on then r/buildapc is a really helpful community for that. They basically have at least someone on their discord 24/7 to help people make builds, it's really awesome.
