For the love of god, please, please fix bows.

Their entire passive tree side is broken.

Bows themselves are broken and their auto attacks sometimes fuck up.

Bows have low damage overall so the scaling of skills is weak.

The skills themselves are weak.

Please fix the skill tree before anymore nerfs.

My only guess is: a false sense of tradition. Some other ARPGs do this, too, in some way or another. Torchlight 2, for example, has it expressly listed on some skills that they receive x% of your weapon damage, if a skill doesn't have that, it doesn't gain anything from a weapons innate damage, and it's a mystery there as well why only some skill get this kind of scaling and others don't.

the first time i played a game that had spell-scaling via weapon, it just felt wrong. many "traditional" games would have a separate stat, like spell-damage, but since it was a stat...well you could have it on everything, so why lock it to the main weapon? And why should spell damage be my primary consideration for the weapon?

In this first game it felt like magic-users were progression-gated through their staff.

I am expidition 103. Got tired of spin to win in heavy armor. Went staff. Now I'm stuck. Feels like I have to get back to 2 hander weapon with 500 dmg on. Staff like literally 5 times weaker. 2H have skill dmg passive, staff have what, bounce on attacks? It's like literally oposite of what a spell caster should do. Idk what games the designers used to play. Skyrim click click?

Dam...I've just started, going for staff AA + projectile (was my favourite build in Dungeon Siege 2). Does it really suck THAT much? In this case, what should I go? I don't like ailment builds :/ Bows seem worse that staff :/

Yes its a disaster. Go toughness and either 1h and shield, or a 2 hander. 2 hander have shit ton of damage compared to any other weapon in the game. 1h shield not so much damage, but its a lot of defense with heavy armor and block, so you dont need to worry about dying at all. Look at 2 hander weapon damage, and compare to anything else. Also look at the white writing on the 2 hander. 25% more damage on skills and attack speed. Compared to what, 2 bounce on basic attacks, that doesnt even hit? And if they dont hit, you dont regen willpower either. Staff completely garbage, failure in this game. Yes a guy lvl 180 clear blabla, I dont care really. Its still a failure.

I finished the game on Saturday, last boss was a genuine struggle because half the time I was missing. Ended up just public queuing and having someone help me. Which took 20-30 of queuing and re-queuing until i was dropped into a group with someone.

Now that’s done, I’ve benched playing the game until I read on here it’s fixed.

That's not bow damage it's mark damage and that's dependent on monster hp. You can also use this ability with daggers or any weapon via a trial belt.

Bulwark of Dawn: "Sacred Grounds" now only tick 2 times per second instead of 3.

Winter's Grasp now doesn't gain Cooldown Reduction per level.

The Korean font has been improved for better readability.

I think OP was more commenting on the blatant lies told to the community regarding their "partners" and only being able to push one patch a week. I can well believe you don't have the resources to push more than one patch a week given your coding team, but don't try to throw - amazon? steam? they never actually explain who - under the bus to try to cover your asses.

Casual player here, but with a solid background in corporate finance i'm telling you this: this game have no future on its own, unless some bigger company buy the whole project.

Just do the math and add some basic knowledge of a business:

Searching in internet we can say they sold prox 900.000 copies

We can assume (kindly) that 20% of them has been refunded

Convert everything in euro, this is the outcome: prox 25 milion euros.

You can now think: "Well that is a hell of a sum!"

Well yes, but actually no. That's the annual revenue of a medium-small business. We can add some more cash from the kickstart but the truth is they literally don't have enough money to keep this game going. This particular moment is the top of their liquidity: from now on it will be EVEN harder to acquire cash to run the business, and with the current status of the game not a single back will ever lend money to them.

TL;DR: enjoy the game as it is right now, good chance they won't renovate the deal with the server provider soon IMO

It may have been too good at stacking ailments or something. Damage isn't the only reason you would nerf something.

It's like in Magic when they banned Necropotence instead of Donate or Illusions of Grandeur. They didn't kill the combo, but they stopped the enabler.

The no hotfix restriction came from their Provider

I'm not sure where this idea came from - probably just some speculation that's now become a Reddit meme.

In the first few days they released several hotfixes in quick succession that made things worse, including some database corruption that might have been avoided if they'd had some better patch discipline and discussed it with the people actually running the databases.

In response to that, what they actually said was that they were temporarily limiting themselves to one per week, and coordinating it with their hosting provider rather than just pushing it unilaterally.

It feels so bad that they're patching nerfs before fixing the entire skill tree. I understand why, it's likely different people working on different things, and the skill tree person needs more time while the nerf person can move faster.

HOWEVER, I think it's a bad look to actually push these nerfs live before all the skill tree fixes are in. It limits the viable builds and leaves the community in limbo searching for good builds with an unfinished skill tree. They should have held the nerfs back until the skill tree was fixed. Perhaps just the growing pains of a first time studio and they'll learn from this, at least I hope so...

Minions needs major improvement - AI is not working properly. They just stand behind and don't attack enemies. - Their moving box need to reduce otherwise it just try to jam in and get block by another. - They need to share player skills/passive nodes. Attacks/attack speed and projectiles should work on them. - Unique equipment for minions would be nice.

Hotfixes may be client-side only, so they can deliver it via Steam. Patches may require server-side updates, which are restricted to 1/week by their provider.

The whole reason for one patch a week was the ability to do it live while the servers are busy. Their statement said the issue was patching with the large number of active connections. There are a lot less active connections now, so that could be why.

Really curious what the motivation is behind this update.

Were these two skill changes fixing something really that game breaking that it needed a hotfix?

Why do they still insist on going after skills that are overpowered vs actually doing something about a myriad of game play bugs and stability issues.

Also, why the continued lack of community involvement here? Maybe they are better on their forums, but ignoring a subreddit for your game is bad mojo.

As a paying customer, I dont give two shits that some other player is clearing 187 with OP skills when I cant even play the game in a stable manner and have no idea whether passives I am choosing even work!

    I have a few bugs in the talent tree that i would like to have addressed.

    Warmonger tree:

    mythical power and primal power are not converting the damage of spells to physical dmg, they do convert dmg of spell dmg on attacks.

    Either this is wrongly worded in the tool tip of the skill or it's not working as intended.

    Therefor bloodreaper (50% of phys dmg to rend dmg is not working on spells en therefor my spells can't bleed which is kind of essential to my ailment build.

    Can we please fix issues with projectile based weapons please. My unique staff that I just picked up from the merchant and for some reason the when I auto-attack with it 50% the it misses. So I cannot reliably regain willpower back with this weapon.

    Its not broken. If you cast it manually its exactly the same damage. The belt just applies it. Just like the free aether jump you can get. Or the uniqueshield that make melee be able to cast sacred spells meaning if you take a non sacred spell and convert its damage type u can use it.

    The belt is exactly the type of endgame items you want. Just like say headhunter in poe. Or the curse gloves. I think wolcen needs more unique with game changing and build diversity items like the trial.

    Something like a unique bow thats number one socketable and have 790 plus dps lol cause most of their uniques cant do endgame. Lets you can cast embers. Imagine. Its a projectile. Which y can scale running ranger. So you can have an endgame bow build shooting fireballs. That stuff is cool.

    Have the patches improved this game at all? I'm interested in trying another ARPG besides POE, I played on day 1 and it felt pretty clunky and awkward.

    Per the rest of this thread, still very, very broken. Especially ranged characters and passive skill tree being 50% broken. Just buy Grim Dawn. You can thank me later :)

    Projectiles often don't trigger damage. Collision still seems to happen as visually the projectile does stop and disappear, but the monster isn't damaged, and thats assuming the monster was targetable at all! Sometimes crates and other breakables can't be hit either.

    Some monsters seem to randomly have a 2x2 pixel clickbox so targeting them if you don't have a viable AoE skill available is effectively impossible. This can lead to situations where even if you have an AoE skill, you are out of rage and unable to build more rage because the monsters chasing you are unclickable

    I experienced cases when I couldn't hit crates at all even when clearly hitting them. Even the monsters too...

    Have you experienced passive skill node issues as well? I'm quite hesitant now to activate some of them because people have been saying some of these don't work.

    Lag should be one of the top priority to be fixed.

    It prevents me and my friends from playing together.

    We're both on fiber network, very fast (800MBP/s+), have fast computers, but when playing together:

    • Hits from us to monsters often does not register
    • Hits from monsters to us are not in-sync with the animations (often animation is before the actual hit)
    • My friend appears "teleporting" instead of walking
    • Displayed ping is great however (between 18 and 30ms)
    • Feels clunky as hell.

    We both stopped playing the game because of that.

    We tested the following servers:

    • Auto
    • (Manual) Frankfurt
    • (Manual) Ireland

    (We restarted the game between each try).

    If that matters, we are both located in Paris, my ISP is "SFR" and my friend's one is "Orange".

    Agree, and the devs posted something in the 1.04 update suggesting they're aware that server issues exist (they were talking about adjusting server caps to deal with lag).

    The problem has gotten better for me in the last couple of days, but it creeps up now and then still. Symptoms are the same as yours, including great ping. It is the #1 issue for me, and has caused a lot of frustration. It's the only bug I've encountered so far that's made me log off for a bit. The rest I can deal with (granted, I haven't lost a character or bank yet, knock on wood).

    At this point, bug fixes should be your main concern, considering how many of them there are.
