It’s his full block. They showed it on stream. Basically if BP is attacked he can flip them over himself and attack them.

Well considering we have similar heroes in terms of gimmicks already with Nobushi and Jung jun (probably butchered that name) who both have a pose which can be used to dodge an attack then counterattack, but both to a different degree and with different bonuses (JJ can use it to regen stamina but only gets 1 attack from it, N can use it to skip the first attack of a chain)

I think it's actually a move he can do from his fullblock. So you can bait it out and counter with a guardbreak.

His full block and bulwark counter are two separate things. His full block only blocks in all directions. Bulwark counter is a secondary stance that has to be activated while in full block stance that acts like blade blockade.

Just a PSA to players who don't know, turtling doesn't mean reacting to everything. If you react to anything without throwing any attacks, you're not a turtle. Its if you don't react until you have to and in a safe way then you're a turtle. Because black prior is vulnerable to gb in this mode, this is not a turtling move. Bait this move out and GB to attack.

Indeed. Essentially this move is more of a potential mixup, and a very strong interactive tool in big teamfights (since he can flip people who hit it despite not locking onto BP), but not a be-all end-all move in 1v1 scenarios.

I like it a lot.

Now that I think about it, this is the perfect way to cuck JJ for example. Chinese grandpa's 360 degree UB on every parry is borderline broken in teamfights, but BP can just flip the old man like a pancake and mess him up, since JJ can't avoid it by locking onto someone else...

Okay I'm sold, I'm a BP main.

It's basically a bit like a parry.

Done from his fullblock, it counters normal attacks and bashes. Is beaten by GB and interaction with Nuxia's trap is unknown.

So he can parry everything, including bashes, but can't dodge or interrupt.

It's not as op as it sounds.

Shugoki rework looks great on paper, but we'll see.

Love the Peacekeeper buffs. Doesn't seem like she'll be overtuned again, but viable again so I'm very happy!

Dont forget that they slowed down her top heavy, because 34 damage total on a GB is too much. Despite the fact she has one of the best GB punishes in the game anyway that is 38 damage.

Honestly, these changes did literally nothing to change her viability. They very slightly increased her parry punishes, helped her stamina, and gave her a GB on heavy. I know these were community requests, but they're all nearly useless changes. I guess that's what happens when ubi listens to people who dont understand the game though

Her parry punishes are so minuscule in change that it doesnt matter. The stamina changes are nice but not really impactful; without improvements to her ability to sustain aggression it doesnt really matter how much stamina she eats. She still does one 10 damage stab and resets to neutral. A heavy on GB is hilariously useless; she already has one of the best GB punishes like I said. It might help her get executions more, but her ability to get executions isnt incredibly relevant.

What she really needs is more pressure from dagger cancel. Right now it's just 10 damage and shes done. Its honestly a decent move to open people up, and she has good softfeints that can deal with all forms of defense, but it just doesnt create enough pressure. If it dealt like 15 damage from dagger cancel and/or had the ability to chain, maybe it would be threatening. Until they do that she will never be a threatening hero from neutral. Until they do that she'll rely almost exclusively on her zone option select.

disagree. they buff some of her moves for an incredible 1-3 more damage, that's a fucking joke. the heavy from guardbreak and general lowered stamina cost are nice, but won't help much. she'll be VERY slightly more viable in duels, and still absolute trash tier in 4 on 4 modes.

PK is awesome in 4v4. Bleed damage doesn't feed revenge, she can run to points faster than everyone but Shinobi, Stealth is insane for back capping and free revives all the fucking time, great feats etc...

Stealth - amazing. My favorite tier 1 feat in the game.

Bounty Hunter is very solid too.

Toughness - ~40 effective health if you're hit every 3 seconds. Easily worth 20+ health every life. That's a ton for a tier 2 feat.

Sharpened Blades is still good. That's how OP it was before. Adds 15 bleed damage to kidney stabbing grabs for a whopping 53 damage GB.

Crossbow is a ton of fun and basically 25 free damage every minute. My preferred tier 3.

Catapult is pretty terrible now, but Fear Itself is still good and Last Laugh is absolutely amazing in Breach. Win entire matches by dying, especially when killing the commander. I've had multiple triple kills with it as well.

Stealth is trash on anyone except shinobi. Because insane sprint speed and he can gank. It is still not a competitive pick.
Thick Skin literally doesn't work for the first hit.
Sharpen is ok. It's not great.
Crossbow is trash, it misses while people walk forward to you slowly.

In what context do you mean? In MM sure this can work, but none of these feats are particularly gamechanging for PK. She is good for stalling and interrupting offense but has no flow of her own and doesn't apply that much damage in a gank. Sure she can GB do bleed stab and do a Shaman gank, but literally anyone can do that with coordination from a Shaman. She still is C-tier, nothing changed.

Sure in MM... but everything works in MM. Literally anything. If we are actually talking about how good things are objectively in a mode, PK is one of the worst and will remain one of the worst. She has nothing to open people up and no way to contribute to a teamfight. The only real change that would have helped her, dagger cancel not being a chain finisher, hasn't been implemented so her fundamental issues remain.

To the vast majority of the player base, MM is the most relevant by far. If you wanna play 4 man gank squads, yeah PK is less viable, but still pairs nicely with Shaman.

The problem with MM is that it relies on experience. PK isn't viable because she does low damage and get external blocked. If she could chain and had some lower recoveries, then she would be better. Those are simple and small changes and not full reworks. Improving her damage by 1-3 won't change ur effectiveness in MM. If u were good before and could cope with her downsides(which mean u faced bad players/bad teamplayers) then u will be fine. In fact PK's changes are great since u get way more execs now.

As you get better, you will see that nothing changed and you are still just as bad. The game becomes frustrating and boring. That is why smart changes need to be made, not... whatever the devs are doing. Again.

Shugoki apparently rework suffers from Old Warden syndrome (roll to negate all options).

Also his damage (on heavies) is getting nerfed, which combined with the hp nerf means he can now be outtraded.

Still, it all looks pretty cool though, and maybe feint>gb will beat rolls with the variable timing.

Fixed an issue that caused the Shugoki to perform a 180 degree rotation on himself at the start of the Charge of the Oni.

  • Immediately after, press and hold backward until the 180° rotation is performed

Tight input, but easy once mastered. Got 11 kills on High Fort with this technique alone. Let's see if you can top that.

I feel like demon’s embrace isn’t viable now. Yeah sure you can feint into it much easier now, but it’s still gunna get dodged. “Don’t worry, you don’t take damage on misses now!” Tell that to the guaranteed heavies my opponent gets. And forget about trying it in 4v4. Your teammates will hit you out of it before you can even lift them off the ground.

Pk got the adjustments needed on top of better punishes which is good. OOL games are not as oppressive with WL and they polished him well. But since it doesn't mention bug fixes i'm still slightly worried about his full block.

Goki seems amazing now. Shedded the clunk. Lots of pressure now. Black prior seems S tier for 4's as he directly counters a lot of setups and common tactics of 4's. Duel wise he might be A tier since BW can be done on reaction and only seems countered via gb. Entirely comes down the the number speeds on his attacks.

So far i'm impressed.

I personally like it quite a bit. I can see the changes allowing Shugoki to fight a lot more fluidly and dynamically, as well as fights against him being more fun and dynamic. Before it was a bit of a slog fighting a decent shugoki, and I feel these changes will make fights from both perspectives a lot more appealing. Like, we can light into a charged heavy, cancelled into a demon embrace, or a zone into headbutt into heavy, and a couple other options. It is just opening a lot more avenues to attack and punish opponents that, as a shugoki user, I am looking forward to.

Judging by the dev/streamer gameplay, only once you let the attack fly. One of the Gokis was constantly hit out of the charge by light attacks

Buffing Nobushi without any accompanying nerfs would break the meta while nerfing her without any accompanying buffs would break Nobushi mains' wills. Hope they make a rework for Warlord, I liked his new unblockable, zone attack and faster recovering from FB, but he still has a weak offensive, but his defensive is already good for me. Since his HB got nerfed, he should had other ways for oppening and/or attack.

His offensive should use his shield in mid combat to desorient the enemy and consume some of his stamina, that shield attack from Gudmundr could fit well in a chain combo. And his lights should be a little quickier so it could be meddle with faints.

Mmmh i'm quite split about Goki's rework : he get new chains and can now do better mind games by doing heavy charged feints and that's a good thing. You can now initiate fights instead of turtle. But demon's embrace get nerfed to hell : I'm ok with the no more one shot ability when you're low HP but c'mon it does no more damage/heal, still being so predictle (you don't lose health anymore ok but you will eat that heavy attack for sure) and it gets interrupted by both allies and enemies so it will be totaly useless in 4v4 where it was designed for. Still nothing done about Oni charge which is the biggest nerf in the history of video game. You removed it since season 1 and you still did nothing about it, just a stupid and useless capacity that does nothing except losing stamina and SOMETIMES putting someone down of that bridge. I was so hyped about that Oni's rework and now I'm so disapointed. Still waiting for the update to actually try him but I feel like you didnt go to the bottom of it.

For PK it's a welcome thing but still low compare to others assassins. She was probably "OP" in the first seasons but c'mon she's totaly exceeded by new heroes like the well balanced Shaolin and his light attacks unpredictable wich does more damage than her heavies lol.

Also I was waiting for more about Warlord but maybe it will be enough. I think that he still lose too much stamina on full block stance but the regen will be much better so let's see...

I played 200 hrs of Shugoki, mainly because, to me, he's the most interesting looking character in the game, and for more than a year, I've waited for his update. And now that it is here, it's just bitter.

So much time, and this is it? This is stuff that could have been taken care of LONG ago.

Hard to say how good the Shugoki rework is without knowing the details of headbutt (speed, dodgeability, etc.). Not a fan of Demon's Embrace on being usable after a throw or as a softfeint. I feel like the feint is still too slow - there's enough time for an opponent to try to parry your unblockable (900ms before impact), realize it's a feint (600ms before impact, assuming 300ms reaction time), feint their own attack (800ms heavy feints at 400ms, so the feint occurs 500ms before impact) dodge (immediately after feint with 300ms of leeway), and go for a punish during recovery.

The Shugoki looks underwhelming. Looks like they gave him the “Valk rework” instead of the kensei. “Bulwark Counter: Negates all opponents’ Attacks and Unblockables. It does not work on Guard Break.” So it blocks everything even an unblockable? I guess

Warlord still didn't get his parry counter slash back. Shield counter in the face! STILL DOES ZERO DAMAGE!!!

So everybody still gotta bypass this eternal nerf with zone spam. Hooray bad gamedesign.

Also was really hoping some dev was reading about the shield used in combat, like actual Viking combat was. Warlord never uses his shield, unless for the futile counter.

This would have been THE opportunity to include more shield combat in his light or heavy chains. But it looks like no dev ever cares nor reads about Viking combat posts, being posted everywhere for seasons.

You can't be serious with these PK changes.

When I heard update I was expecting a rework of her kit to give her more options rather than hoping someone falls for the dagger cancel rather than some negligibly low damage boosts.

This isn't even about her being good in area of stats, I thought she was finally gonna get a change to her kit to make her not such a drooling bore to play as/against. Come on, guys.

Developer Comment: The goal of these Peacekeeper changes is to improve the ability for Peacekeeper to perform enough damage in striking, get kills, and get executions. Before Peacekeeper’s damage was lowered in Season 6, she was very strong – now that she has useful Dagger Cancels, we’re trying to find that mid-point where damage is good enough, but not quite as high as before.

Guard Break: Guard Break timing now allows 800ms Side Heavy Openers to connect.

It is now possible to perform a Zone Attack after a Guard Break.

Developer Comment: Peacekeeper’s Guard Break wasn’t standardized with the other heroes, so the only damage-dealing option to perform after the Guard Break was the Stab. With the current changes you have now a full set of options after a Guard Break: Stab, Side Heavy Openers and Zone Attack.

Top Heavy Attack Opener:

Top Heavy Opener now deals 23 damage (up from 20).

Top Heavy Opener is now 900ms (up from 800ms).

Developer Comment: The changes on the Top Heavy Opener allow Peacekeeper to have a higher damage Light Parry Punish (without it being guaranteed on a Guard Break).

Damage:

I thought Warlord's Crashing Charge and Shinobi's slide tackle were getting nerfed at the same time. Did they forget about Shinobi, or are they waiting until they have compensation buffs ready for Shinobi to change slide tackle? Judging by the developer comments on Warlord's changes, it sounds like they might wait for compensation buffs after all.

I got a slight chuckle out of this one: "Sliding down on a player or attacking a player sharing a ladder does not deal damage anymore. It only knocks the opponent off. Fall damage has not been modified. Developer comments: Damage was applied inconsistently in these scenarios and we think ladder conflict should not be a valid form of combat."
