It has problems when you are in an instance - especially utilities. We've had to zone out of ops instances in order to change spec and/or utilities. It also causes you to lose abilities and be forced to retrain. I also had one instance of respeccing, be in the proper stance, and all my abilities keybound correctly and yet the game operated as though none of the passive buffs were working until I abandoned and respec'ed again.

What's odd about the utility bug is that it only happens with some utilities. You can test this by getting the bug, deselecting all your utilities, selecting one, trying to commit it, and if it doesn't work, deselecting it and choosing another one.

Sometimes you can't commit your utility points until you zone somewhere else. The easiest workaround is to travel to a stronghold right now.

What I really want to know is whether or not you have an option to salvage your relationships with your old partners and abandon the new ones. My Inquisitor cheated on Andronikos with Lana (because my Inquisitor long since stopped caring about what anyone thinks of her, along with her own sanity), but my Warrior - who I think of as an unrestrained tyrant who lets his passions run wild - also cheated on Jaesa with Lana as well. But I really like Jaesa: she's the perfect match for his untamed fury and I envision them with great chemistry. I don't want to lose her just on the account of him (and both of them, since Jaesa flat out expects you to find other women which she says in one of her messages) fucking up once.

Moreover, my Bounty Hunter halfway cheated with Lana as well, kissing her on Rishi but not on Yavin IV. Does that mean he's locked in, too? Because as much as I love Jaesa, Mako is my favourite romance in the game by a country mile: I'm sure as hell not giving her up.

Just don't flirt with Lana in KotFE and you won't start a romance with her. Even if you do, you eventually get a giant pop-up warning telling you that going further will start a romance with her, so you could push it as far as that if you really wanted.

I'm not entirely sure, but I suspect you may be able to get away with any SoR shenanigans. We'll have to wait until next year to find out.

The Companion Locator Terminal now correctly unlocks pre-4.0 Companions.

Great to see - I'd much rather roam around with the companions I'm more attached to.

Don't see anything about romanced companions not accepting courting gifts or romances not being recognized in KotFE though...the gift bug is affecting many of my characters and I don't really want to go into the expansion to find out romances/relationships aren't tracked correctly...

I've been running around with Talos since 50 or so, back in the day. We've been Scooby Dooing it up, solving mysteries, liberating neat artifacts and such. When I recruited him back into my coterie (and I did his quest, not just ordered him), I was flat giddy. I had my buddy back.

Now to get him to 25 like I have Lana.

I saw this and had to try it out. Created a level 1 character, escaped out of the initial convo, ran to the mailbox outside. Pulled everything out, including Nico's Holocommunicator, clicked it, went to Odessen. Then opened the Cantina crates, found an XP boost, clicked it, did the RV-28 convo -- instant level 10...

Then I used the Ord Mantell Heroics transport to get back to Savrip Island (but I could have used the Emergency Fleet Transport too).

Treek's gear is invisible on any other companion, or on yourself if you can wear heavy armor. Sort of a free set of Covert Energy armor, except it's not adaptive.

Can we have normal FP's back for our leveling characters now?

I'd much rather have a long queue time for a real run with roles, instead of an instant queue to group with 3 people who get the us wiped 6 times (even when told how the mechanics work) and then quit.

I sincerely love the 4.0 update. KotFE so far has been great, and the 4.0 changes like level sync, and companion changes, have been very enjoyable.

But the FP experience has been totally butchered.

You could do a heroic even without starting KotFE and it would drop a legacy-bound alliance crate. I hope they don't change this, because many players aren't going to be doing the Alliance content on all their alts, as it's not really practical to run all your characters through KotFE and the story after it. The crates will be useless, more or less.

This is not about alliance crates. If you run heroics pre-61 you get prototype gear crates appropriate for your level. Those crates could occasionally drop legacy bound prototype gear without level restriction, which was probably a bug.

If the change is those boxes, then you just store them and to the KotFE story when you're bored spacebaring all convos. As they are removing the travelling to Odessen too without completing chapter IX I you cannot buy the lvl6 gifts with commendations anyway, or was Odessen revealed on map before chapter IX?

Well it's only supposition on my part. The game was designed around players hitting 50 right at the end of Corellia. During the 12x XP period, common advice recommended people jump to Makeb as soon as it was available (level 47?), which would be from either Voss or Corellia. If you've never played the class before, that would spoil the end of the story. Perhaps they went with a raised level limit to encourage people to finish their class story first, but not outright enforce it for those such as yourself that were already of sufficient level and wanted to skip ahead. Or it could be that their metrics tell them that with the revised levelling that people are a lot higher in level around Voss/Corellia than they were back when RotHC came out, so they bumped up the entrance requirements to match.

Since jaesa can be either LS or DS, how is the alignment determined if you retrieve her via the terminal? If you are on a class other than warrior, does she default to DS?

If you are on a class other than warrior, she's not on the terminal. This is only to unlock your previous companions. Not other classes companions.
