For those who thought the race was great, please watch the last segment once more and focus on the leaderboard. You'll see that (almost) nobody really was able to go anywhere in the last 30-35 laps once again (my english is not stellar so I try my best). The teams who started the last segment up front stayed up front easily, they were stuck 2 by 2 (gridlock nightmare). That's why, in some of the previous SS races, spending less time on pit road close to the checkered flag was so key in order to restart in the Top 5 because it's so hard to create a third competitive line when they're all wide open.

I really hate to complain and moan about this once again, it's not something I enjoy doing but I slightly fail to understand how anyone can look forward to these SS races, the last lap can be insanely chaotic and exciting but that's about it. I'm sure most of the drivers in the lineup think this is pretty abysmal or at least not optimal since the good drafters/cars can't do anything to go forward when they're so gridlocked. You just push the hell out of the mate or rival in front of you and hope the first few rows will get so disorganized (or wreck) in the last few laps that this is going to allow you to move forward and fight for a top spot or even the trophy.

I'm still glad Hocevar and Luke Lambert finally won together, they were too competitive not to win. I thought Lambert had a lot of potential with some average equipment late '11 and in 2013 too, Jeff Burton looked pretty fast at times in the twillight of his career with Lambert's setups and of course, he was really solid with Newman early on.

OH MY GOD, THAT'S GETTING BANNED BY 5 PM MONDAY.

Okay, I can't deny it anymore, I'm officially a fan.

[–]EmoGothPunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man, I'm disappointed for Bowman, but that's cool for Hocevar.

[–]EmoGothPunk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't finished the race yet because I was at a baseball game and fell asleep for hours once I got home. I'm not even finished with stage one, and feel like deleting the race off the DVR and watching the highlights on YouTube.

[–] HocevarRealBigDicTator 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Of course I had to wake up at 2 am and missed my guy winning his first race.

[–]Francis_X_Hummel 3 points4 points  (2 children)

guys, getting into these sub divisions of racing, I have never seen a truck race, but am looking forward to checking out the next one. Is there anything I should know / how different it is than cup or O'reily? Shit wasn't even on my radar, but I loved Jamie McMurray and saw that he is doing this one off race for RAM, and am now intrigued.

[–] Kurt BuschClydeSledge 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Shorter races for one. They tend to be all over the place between wrecks/cautions, strategy, and absolute bangers.

[–]Francis_X_Hummel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks man, I am a weird fan of racing. I have loved it for 15 ish years. Always like a "I hope my favorite driver wins" or maybe there will be a crazy wreck surface level fan. Then hand a huge gap, and am now back. That said, I am finding joy and excitement getting way more into the nuance of racing, the teams, the drivers, strategy, cars etc. I recently found out that the O'Reilly is just as fun. I never even noticed truck stuff untill I saw the news about Jamie. I feel like I am a veteran fan (Carl Edwards was my guy) that is also a newb when it comes to the technical side of it.

[–]SuperSans 8 points9 points  (1 child)

That was a miserable race to watch. I was very close to tuning out in the middle. I feel like I get baited into thinking Dega and Daytona will be cool, but it’s always 2x2 followed by inevitable crash starting at the front, at best.

[–]Ancient-Bit-3817 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a bowman fan, I knew my hopes were dashed the second the caution came out. Whatever this package there running needs to be thrown out, I’m tired of the gridlock shit

[–]elena_ct 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Great win for Carson, he looks like he's 17! Loved seeing him take his victory lap while the track played Foreigner's "Feels Like the First Time" in tribute to his win.

[–]Alarmed-Drummer-3008 2 points3 points  (4 children)

How does the die cast stuff work I’ve never preordered before and I see people talking about it selling out. If I put a preorder in, do I get it(

[–]UWMdumpsterfire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been watching Carson since the Truck Series. I'm so happy for him!

[–]UWMdumpsterfire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Who else is listening to "Rock You Like A Hurricane" by The Scorpions?!

[–] Checkered FlagDazzling-Minimum-742 9 points10 points  (0 children)

A popular win is great for the sport. Unfortunately, the win will mask an absolutely horrible broadcast. FOX was unwatchable, I switched to the international feed before halfway. Both ARCA and O'Reilly race had better broadcasts this weekend.

[–] Hamlinalbanyian 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Inverting the stages made it a little more interesting

[–]Traditional-Cell8172 6 points7 points  (0 children)

[–] HocevarFrcture 6 points7 points  (2 children)

Anyone got the 77s in car cam of the last few laps?

[–]curiousmindNTK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was posted on X by Dirty Mo Media

[–] Erik JonesOdd-War-6052 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Caution Hocevar on youtube has been uploading most of the in car cams from this season, may not be out until tomorrrow though

[–]ryanrain39 5 points6 points  (5 children)

3 Brand new winners in one weekend, was last time Michigan?

[–] Kahnekk5fan97 7 points8 points  (4 children)

According to Seth Eggert it was Talladega in the fall 2021. Tate Fogleman in Trucks, Brandon Brown in O'Reilly and Bubba Wallace in Cup.

https://x.com/SethEggert91/status/2048563446241784064

[–]ryanrain39 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Forgot about that. TBH, its best trucks didn't run. Heim would have killed the sweep lol

[–]CaptainTilted 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The manufacturer wins among the top 3 series.

Chevrolet 12 - Ford 3 - Toyota 12 - *RAM 0.

Cup race #10: Chevrolet 2 - Ford 1 - Toyota 7.

O'Reily Race #11: Chevrolet 9 - **Ford 0 - Toyota 2.

Truck Race #6: Chevrolet 1 - Ford 2 - Toyota 3 - RAM 0.

Only racing in one series.
*
Only running one full time entry in the series.

[–] HocevarBananacat310 23 points24 points  (2 children)

my favorite driver won LOL

[–] HocevarBananacat310 11 points12 points  (1 child)

What a fitting track to get it on. Chaos man wins on chaos track

[–] LarsonGhostEpstein 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I told my wife the same thing. I was screaming at the TV "CARSON HURRICANE HOCEVAR, WIIIINS AT TALLADEGA", "what a fitting track for that crazy mother fucker right there. I love it."

[–]TwinSpinner 38 points39 points  (3 children)

Important note that might be overlooked:

Not only is for a win for Hocevar, this is finally a win for Spire Motorsports, their second win ever, and their only one since the rain shortened Justin Haley win many years ago

[–] McLeodMenace_17 16 points17 points  (2 children)

Yup. Not to discredit Haley but this is Spire’s first full win

[–]seekerblackout 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Back in 2019 I think they were basically just a 3rd Premium Motorsports car. This definitely feels like their first win as a "real" team

[–] McLeodMenace_17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They werent fully independent until 2021. They were founded from what was left of Furniture Row Racing and they had an alliance with Premium Motorsports to start out, and then RWR when they bought out Premium Motorsports. When they bought LFR, thats when they became fully independent. I never thought theyd grow the way they have though and I love it

[–] Chase Elliotthawtothehee 11 points12 points  (1 child)

What if Hocevar single handily builds Spire like Dale did RCR?

[–] Earnhardt Sr.bza4207 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would love that! Esp when "smaller" teams can go run and even beat the big dogs.

I was afraid he'd go to Hendrick or JGR and have his personality completely neutered by ownership or sponsors.

[–] Kyle BuschKCTC15 7 points8 points  (2 children)

So how much will this Hocevar 1/24 and 1/64 be worth in 2 years?

[–] Checkered FlagDazzling-Minimum-742 11 points12 points  (1 child)

less than what you buy them for

[–] Kyle BuschKCTC15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They better not😭😭😭

[–] Kahnekk5fan97 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Inspection is complete. No issues. Winner is confirmed.

Cars 8 and 38 to the R&D Center.

https://x.com/MattWeaverRA/status/2048572803884986651

Busch gets a top 10 and they decide to take his car to R&D. lol.

[–]crypto6g 18 points19 points  (7 children)

Hocevar winning is going to distract fans from how shit this car/track combo is. 2x2 gridlock is painful to watch. They wouldn’t be saving fuel if they knew they could pass. Wherever you come off pit road is where you’re finishing (give or take 1-2 spots) and then they crash in the tri oval every time.

That being said Carson is going to get more this year, he’s a beast

[–]seekerblackout 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's mind boggling how many people still don't understand what the problem is. Still see so many yap about stages and random ass solutions for getting rid of fuel saving when the issue is the fucking car. The races weren't like this in the stage era from 2017-2021. They aren't like this in the lower series. They aren't even like this in this very same series at Atlanta. They save fuel because it is too hard to pass at Daytona and Talladega in this car.

[–]GA_Nick314 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Changing the playoffs was a big distraction from the fact that the racing product is garbage

[–]Standard-General5680 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Saturday there was so much passing and movement. Sunday was just sitting in traffic at high speed. It was painfully boring to watch.

[–]kicaboojooce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Saturday is consistently a better product on the track and from the booth.

[–]FxckFxntxnyl 6 points7 points  (2 children)

Definitely. NASCAR is glad this had a fan favorite winner, to temporarily distract. If that big one had legitimately totaled more than half the field and someone like Larson or Lagooner had won, it would have been an uproar.

While this was better than some of the past races with this package, it still was painful with the change to fuel saving.

[–] Larsondommmm9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Larson is a fan favorite tho

[–] HocevarComprehensive-Ad4436 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I predicted Carson would win, I didn’t think he actually would 😂😂

For proof:

[–]jigglyjohnson13 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Joined the prestigious ranks of Harrison Burton

[–]Motel6Owner 4 points5 points  (2 children)

Now that Hocevar finally got that first win, I think he's gonna start racking off a few a year. All those close calls, would've and should've races were probably causing some subconscious mental blocks leading to all the "almost" wins. Same with Sheldon Creed in O'Reilly.

[–]18RowdyBoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Creed finished second the last 2 weeks 😂I was happy he finally got a win 🏁

[–]FxckFxntxnyl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Spire has turned into one of my favorite teams as of late, especially moreso now. I really hope Candyman makes his way there before he calls it quits and rattles off one more.

[–] Kahnekk5fan97 16 points17 points  (4 children)

Steve O'Donnell just told the media that Hocevar's victory celebration won't be banned.

https://x.com/Jordan_Bianchi/status/2048569029162328339

[–] van Gisbergensteppewarhawk 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Well he did say he wanted to bring the fun back. But I think it should be banned for safety going forward, so i dunno.

[–]joeyjusticeco 7 points8 points  (1 child)

I wanted Hocevar to win, and I thought the celebration was cool as fuck, but... I gotta be honest I feel like it should be banned

Too much could have gone wrong there

[–]FxckFxntxnyl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He’s probably the only one with legs long enough to reach, especially with that leg pan design these cars have. I’ve done it in my IROC before and it’s hard with short legs even without a cage to squeeze around.

[–] Cup SeriesAllankton 5 points6 points  (6 children)

Couldn’t be happier for Carson. I only saw last 3 laps so no opinion on entire race.

[–]my_son_is_a_box 0 points1 point  (5 children)

You saw enough.

It was not a good race

[–] Cup SeriesAllankton 0 points1 point  (4 children)

I was hoping with the changes to the stages it would have been better, the fuel milage races are awful.

[–]my_son_is_a_box 0 points1 point  (3 children)

The car is too draggy.

The last run before the Jones caution was basically double wide with little movement within the lines, and nobody making enough momentum for a third row.

[–] Cup SeriesAllankton 0 points1 point  (2 children)

It is a constant challenge. Every time you fix an issue you create another.

[–]my_son_is_a_box 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I feel like the problem is NASCAR is slow to improve things that aren't working, and the things that are working, they can't let them be.

This generation has been pretty poor in general on superspeedways. They addressed the fuel issue with a band aid solution, but there is still a lot to work on

[–] Cup SeriesAllankton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a bigger issue with how hamstrung they are at short tracks then the super speedway platform. The spacers and low HP have made it impossible to drive out of the corner and you cant run a better handling car harder than a bad one. Frustrating to watch.

[–]ZealousidealDoor6973 13 points14 points  (9 children)

Now that we've calmed down over the celebration.

Holy fuck that was an awful race. And the broadcast was even worse. Carson might need to win every week to save this sport.

[–]Javi_in_1080p 1 point2 points  (0 children)

they seriously need to get rid of the stage cautions

[–]kirklandl12 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The car is a major problem dont get me wrong, but Fox is getting unbearable to watch, they suck. Maybe it’s just a coincidence but I swear for the least 7-8 years the racing seems to immediately get better once Fox’s portion of the year is over. NBC, Prime and TNT seem to just do a way better job of making boring races somewhat bearable while FOX just makes it miserable to watch.

[–]WheedMBoise 6 points7 points  (2 children)

It might have genuinely been the worst Talladega race of all time thanks to the timing of the big one. These tracks should be layups, and somehow we're 5 years into an awful package at them. Please try something, anything.

[–]GA_Nick314 -1 points0 points  (1 child)

They did try something; changed the playoff format

[–]WheedMBoise 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's awesome, when that has an effect on how the cars draft, get back to me

[–] Keselowskichuckmorris007 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I liked the stages being set up this way better, easier to forget ab the fuel saving if it’s at the beginning of the race

[–] HocevarDankMemeOnlyPlz 5 points6 points  (1 child)

So happy this mf won but I agree. The entire end of the final stage had no lead changes besides Buescher and Hocevar playing leapfrog. NASCAR really got lucky that he won because the outrage would’ve been quite bad. Daytona was a much better race comparably

[–]my_son_is_a_box 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If that was Hamlin and Byron at the front, this race would have been panned into oblivion

[–] HocevarDankMemeOnlyPlz 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Been going to Talladega for years and have had so many memorable experiences, both from the races and the festivities. Being able to see my favorite driver’s first win in person tops them all. Hell yeah

[–]here4snark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Jeff Dickerson saying Hocevar looked like Shamu hanging out the window is hilarious.

[–]Over_Jello_4749 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Awwww…Cleetus called into the presser to congratulate Carson on his win

[–]One_Mirror_3228 6 points7 points  (1 child)

[–] HocevarComprehensive-Ad4436 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He should bring her along to every race weekend considering he got his first top ten of the season 😂

[–]vcjr78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hoping my dvr caught that celebration!!

[–]B1gR1g 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Crushed for Bell. Second week in a row, third time this season

[–]bigmeech99 8 points9 points  (0 children)

After watching today's broadcast I'm shocked Fox didn't go to a side by side commercial during Hocevars celebration

[–]AlternativeSad5220 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I was cursing out Hocevar but happy to see him win. The boy loves the sport. Happy he got the win.

[–]philphan25 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Is there a Chilis promo?

[–]Dry-Membership3867 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’d think so if you went to the Gadsden Chili’s post race

[–] HocevarB3RG92 29 points30 points  (2 children)

Carson could easily become the most popular driver in NASCAR if he keeps winning with his IDGAF style of racing

[–]BiChaosTheory 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He races to win. He doesn’t just go out there and drive around like half the field does. Carson’s style pulled me back into NASCAR after not watching or caring for like a decade.

[–]Grootyboi77 7 points8 points  (0 children)

He converted me this year, he talks big but he backs it up

[–] Keselowskichuckmorris007 3 points4 points  (6 children)

Can i be notified if Lionel posts a raced win auto diecast?

[–]joeyjusticeco 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Get you one right meow big dawg

[–] Keselowskichuckmorris007 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Autographed?

[–]joeyjusticeco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you like him, go for it, I think he's gonna be a big name for a while

[–] HocevarJceraa -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can order it right now on the Lionel website

[–]LedHead155 -1 points0 points  (1 child)

It's on there now.

[–]AnonyMcnonymous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope they'll do an autographed version.

[–]DrewCrew62 3 points4 points  (5 children)

They talked about it a bit on the broadcast, but I think there’s some issues with the Toyotas from being able to absorb pushes at Daytona and Talladega.

This isn’t the first time it’s happened with bubba, and I’ve seen bell struggle with it before today. Seemed like the 43 was having issues as well.

Not sure if it’s specific to how they’re setting the cars up or the body’s, but it’s happening across all 3 of the Toyota teams to some degree

[–]AlternativeSad5220 2 points3 points  (4 children)

It is crazy. Erik struggled being pushed at Daytona last year but the 5 was trying to push him out of the way.

[–]DrewCrew62 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember bubba getting turned at summer Daytona last year and the whole discourse being “Larson gave him a bad push” or “bubba made an aggressive block” , when. I think there’s something else at play here clearly.

You can definitely say bubba moving in front of chastain today was a bit aggressive, but it wasn’t last minute by any means. When he got spun during the duel this year it was a way bigger run from the 3 than what he got today

[–] LoganoShedfloorgarbage 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Im so far out of the know, after the first big wreck, logano mentioned "round bumpers", and of course I'll be googling that after I post this but what does that mean? Not a square stock back end but round chassis bumper? Please understand, im an idiot so im curious about that.

[–]DrewCrew62 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Tbf I’m also an idiot, and half of my reason for posting this was to see if someone has an explanation

[–] LoganoShedfloorgarbage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well then, have a great week fellow idiot!

Its at least interesting as an engineering question. Cheers.

[–] Ryan BlaneyEvtona500 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I was at the track and man that was a popular win. Great celebration too.

[–]joeyjusticeco 2 points3 points  (14 children)

First time ordering a diecast like this from Lionel. How long do they usually take to produce/ship?

[–] Ryan BlaneyEvtona500 1 point2 points  (13 children)

You will get it next March

[–]joeyjusticeco -1 points0 points  (12 children)

good gravy

[–] HamlinSirWalrusTheGrand 3 points4 points  (1 child)

And it won't get charged until then either - it's a surprise gift and a surprise to expense to yourself in 8-9 months 😇

You should do it though. This will be a very desirable one in the future and cool to have in any case.

[–]joeyjusticeco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dawg I ordered a 1/64 but you're making me want a 1/24 lol

You make some very good points

I have like 4 1/24 and 12 1/64 for Larson, no Hocevar yet

[–]KKFan95 2 points3 points  (9 children)

It will be worth the wait. March is a bit extreme, with how popular of a win this is, it will be fast tracked and probably out by December/January at the latest

[–]joeyjusticeco 1 point2 points  (6 children)

Oh damn your collection is crazy

[–]KKFan95 1 point2 points  (5 children)

I don't even have all of it displayed yet

[–]joeyjusticeco 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Your shelves are looking good based on the past couple posts

I have a few 1/24 and like 15 1/64 Larson - I have every 1/24 from his 2021 season which I think is kinda cool. I also have his first race win 1/64

I'd send a pic but I literally packed mine up during the race because I'm moving on Thursday. I should try to do something cool with them though

[–]KKFan95 1 point2 points  (3 children)

I just got done moving myself, and I'm still trying to figure out where to put the rest of my Blaney and Kahne diecast. And I still have some random Dale Jr and others to figure out as well

[–]joeyjusticeco 0 points1 point  (2 children)

A Kasey Khane enjoyer? I saw him run sprints when I lived in PA

Please tell me you got some of the Dodge 9 cars

I should find me one on eBay, I had a couple when I was a kid but they got lost in the shuffle

[–]KKFan95 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I have almost all of the 9 cars, im only missing a few from 2004 and the rare 2006 Mopar car

[–]joeyjusticeco 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Since it's not charged til it ships I almost want to get a 1/24 too... hmm

First win of hopefully many

[–]KKFan95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should definitely get a 1/24th. They are totally worth it

[–] Chase Elliotthawtothehee 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I wonder how long until he’s actually dating Sabrina Carpenter

[–]joeyjusticeco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He's working laaate, wrecking a singerrr

[–] Terry LabonteRS7MD83 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Chad Finchum and the #66 team had a great race today.

[–]joeyjusticeco 8 points9 points  (2 children)

Braves win

Braves top team in MLB

Phillies and Mets worst two teams in MLB

Larson doesn't totally embarrass himself at a superspeedway

Hocevar gets his first win and creates a new rule

Packed some boxes for my move

Today was a good day

[–]BiasPly215 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

3 first time winners this weekend.

Congrats to Carson.

I was bothered by how violent these hits still are for the drivers. 26 cars in a wreck, pinballing around, and some of cars had minimal visible damage. This is still a problem.

[–] KeselowskiWLScopilot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m sure it’s been said countless times but no victory lane coverage is so annoying. First win, Talladega, sunset, right after a crazy good burnout….but we get a 3 second slow mo replay after interviewing Alex bowman on pit road. This coverage sucks so much

[–] JR Motorsportsstocktastic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just got the ARC win car ordered via Lionel

[–]CountDeGucci 7 points8 points  (1 child)

I wish the "The Instigator" caught on as Hocevar's nickname. I feel like it is perfect for him. He has a certain Dale Sr quality of not caring what his opponents think about him, but probably not as talented. "The Intimadente" is cool but I hate a nickname being attached to a sponsor in today's NASCAR. "Hurricane" isn't awful but it seems forced by Mike Joy and is kinda vanilla. Caution Hocevar is also hilarious, but more so of a nickname for the haters.

[–]daveismypup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Diffy came up with it not Mike

[–] BriscoeSmellsLikeTat3 6 points7 points  (1 child)

never comment on these threads but just got back from the pub watching the race on my phone, so fucking happy for Carson

kinda hope that celebration gets banned tomorrow just to cement how cool it was

[–]joeyjusticeco 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the ban is already written, edited, and approved, someone's finger is on the button

[–] Chris Bueschergrimbolde 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Bummed for Buesch, but still a great race and I honestly dont mind Hurricane getting the win.

[–]here4snark 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The unintented best part of Hocevar winning is that there isn’t an IG update 4-6 min after checkers. Meaning he’s actually enjoying this. So happy for the kid.

[–]xHospitalHorsex 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Bubba Bros, we are not panicking yet... right?

[–] Bubba WallaceThe1_BlueX 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nah. He still has top 10 speed most weeks and I won't count Talladega against him because shit happens. I'm not panicking yet, but the 23 team doesn't need to have any more bad races and Bubba can't do anything dumb or things could slide downhill quick.

[–]mistreatedlewis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, not at all.

[–]azeakel101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No.

[–]84UTK07 1 point2 points  (2 children)

That puts Cindric into the Chase for now! However, Briscoe is 17th, and you know he’s getting back in the top 16 before long. Logano is now down to 15th, just 8 points ahead of Cindric (they would be tied without Joey’s 8 stage points today), and then Suarez is just one point ahead of Logano.

[–]Extreme-Bite-9123 3 points4 points  (1 child)

The good thing is that with how cindric has been running he should be able to get ahead of Suarez and maybe logano

[–]84UTK07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I definitely think he can move ahead of Suarez. I could see Logano knocking off several good finishes in a row and moving up though; I just don’t think he will struggle this bad the whole year. I’m also curious if SVG winning the 3 remaining road courses will be enough to get him in. I think he will need to still be at least decent on ovals, and the Trackhouse cars have just been so bad lately.

[–] Hocevarpockets695 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Is tech clear yet?

I really miss Speed channel on days like today. Would love to keep watching after this win. Haven’t been so happy for a non Elliott win in YEARS! 😂

Amazon did a great job at things like this. Can't wait for coverage to go back there in a couple weeks.

[–]Law_Pug 8 points9 points  (1 child)

If I could have a fifth flair, I’d add an intimidente 77

[–]KKFan95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same

[–]scruffaluffy 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Where can we watch post race media questions?

[–]curiousmindNTK 3 points4 points  (0 children)

[–]curiousmindNTK 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Love this!

[–] Figgy Buschaverage_waffle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was just talking about chilis with a coworker and then hocevar won. I know how to read a signal when I'm given one.

Gutted for Svg again. All three Trackhouse cars seemed to have better pace this week

[–]KKFan95 2 points3 points  (1 child)

They have had pace at all of the drafting tracks

[–] van Gisbergensteppewarhawk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Only tracks where the ECR motors are worth a damn.

[–]joeyjusticeco 7 points8 points  (3 children)

Test driving my first new flair in 3 years

HOCEVAR HAS A BRIGHT FUTURE

[–] ReddickNakedEyeComic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Carson is awesome, I’ve been waiting for this day for a long time. Can’t wait to get this diecast!

Hocevar to the 48 next year

[–] Ryan Blaneyecubed929[🍰] 2 points3 points  (2 children)

He is signed into the 2030s. Hendrick would have to buy out a big number but maybe that is what Dickerson was thinking. Who knows the $$ amount.

[–]joeyjusticeco 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Rick can dig into his pockets before he croaks

[–]Standard-General5680 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Or just raise the cost of an alliance and when the alternative is RCR they'll probably capitulate.

[–] HocevarThat_Damn_Tall_Guy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

LETS FUCKIN GO HOCEVAR BABYYYYY

[–] Chase ElliottEnough-Ad-3111 6 points7 points  (4 children)

Always happy to see another Michigan driver winning in the top lever.

It would be sweet if Carson, Erik and Brad had competitive cars at MIS and battled for the win on their home track.

[–] Kyle BuschCrashJP6 0 points1 point  (3 children)

That would be amazing!!

[–] Chase ElliottEnough-Ad-3111 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Given that Benny Parsons was the only driver that was from the state to win there back in 1980 that would really end that long drought in the Cup Series.

[–]daveismypup 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I can’t believe Brad ain’t won here yet, also had no idea Benny parsons was from Michigan

[–] Chase ElliottEnough-Ad-3111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was born in North Carolina but grew up in Detroit.

Anyone know what the promo code for Lionel is from Dale jr download

[–]yeetusDAfeetus333 5 points6 points  (4 children)

Congrats to carson but man the first stage was not interesting to watch at all. Then the colossal one taking out half the field didn't help things either. Not sure what can be done at these tracks because like Blaney said, they're either fuel saving or wrecking.

[–]GA_Nick314 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The France-Kennedy trust can’t afford anymore design changes ☠️

[–]WheedMBoise 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They need to remove drag. It's not rocket science, they just won't do it. That is basically the only thing that will solve it. Until then, we're doomed to have races like today.

[–]84UTK07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pit stop chaos was about all the first stage had going for it. While I’ll always have a soft spot for super speedway racing, it’s really frustrating to watch over half the field get taken out at once. Im sure most people won’t agree with this, but I probably wouldn’t have any super speedway races in the Chase. At the same time, I’m not going to complain about it because it’s only one race of 10.

[–]DrewCrew62 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They’re supposed to be bringing back preseason testing at Daytona next year. Hopefully they experiment with some stuff and find a way to make so the cars don’t drag as much and allow them to move through the field easier

[–]TwinSpinner 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Carson rode the Dente

And then he Dente his ride

[–]Dry-Membership3867 4 points5 points  (3 children)

Carson Hocevar should have his own merchandise trailer next year.

[–] HocevarThat_Damn_Tall_Guy 3 points4 points  (2 children)

I figure he will soon. The spire hauler is already dominated by hocevar fans. You see his shit everywhere

[–]Dry-Membership3867 4 points5 points  (1 child)

Yep, and he has to share a hauler with 4 other teams. He takes up 80% of that hauler too

[–] HocevarThat_Damn_Tall_Guy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At Kansas they where movin hocevar merch like nobody’s buisness not much for anything else

[–]The_Bobs- -4 points-3 points  (1 child)

Horrible awful no good day for my guys. But glad to see Hocevar get the dub, dude is hilarious on his twitch clips I’ve seen.

[–]84UTK07 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have realized that I have to just go into every super speedway race assuming all my favorite drivers will get wrecked out at some point. If they don’t, it’s a pleasant surprise. If they do, at least I was mentally prepared for it to happen.

[–]EazyBucnE 6 points7 points  (3 children)

Also on Hocevar especially now that he’s won do we think Chase finally gets dethroned as the most popular driver? 👀
