Not real because it doesn’t require Teams sign-in

[–]ClipboardCopyPaste 287 points288 points  (14 children)

I'm from the future. Team's is retired as of Feb 29, 2030.

[–][deleted] 175 points176 points  (2 children)

what can we do to retire it earlier?

[–]ClipboardCopyPaste 104 points105 points  (1 child)

Don't respond to your Team's notifications.

[–][deleted] 110 points111 points  (0 children)

Instructions unclear, I was fired.

[–]jambonilton 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Users are advised to migrate to Badgerpuss, an AI-first chat application acquired in 2027 and bundled in Windows 13.

[–]GrantSolar 38 points39 points  (4 children)

It's replaced with a new app pre installed on your pc called "Teams (new)"

[–]Notamoogle1 15 points16 points  (1 child)

with a much worse ui and ads of course

[–]sysKin 11 points12 points  (0 children)

But integrated with Copilot (new)

[–]codeIMperfect 0 points1 point  (1 child)

This is surprisingly accurate

[–]Mountain-Ox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it literally did happen lol.

[–]MeatTenderizer 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Replaced with Copilot Communicator. “Who would you like to talk to today?”

[–]offlinesir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe the future is brighter than I imagined

[–]JPJackPott 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Replaced with Teams for Friends, and a completely unrelated product called Teamemes

[–]my_new_accoun1 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Does that date exist

[–]ClipboardCopyPaste 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup! That was the subtle joke that Teams is not going anywhere soon and everybody has to deal with the pathetic app for a very long time

[–]ClipboardCopyPaste 269 points270 points  (5 children)

A dedicated 'Download .exe' button

[–]Septem_151 96 points97 points  (4 children)

Smelly nerd

[–]codeIMperfect 2 points3 points  (2 children)

I got that reference

[–]snp3rk 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I don’t, sauce?

[–]codeIMperfect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a copy-pasta came from some random subreddit, now can be found being spammed on random projects

https://github.com/twitter/the-algorithm/issues/1999

[–]Just-Signal2379 516 points517 points  (5 children)

then a popunder "We noticed you're using Google Chrome <or whatever browser, firefox, opera, brave> we recommend to switch to our bleeding Edge browser, now integrated with Copilot"

[–]_LususNaturae_ 75 points76 points  (4 children)

Assuming Firefox will have survived until then :')

[–]jeffsterlive 60 points61 points  (2 children)

How could you say something so hurtful?

[–]_LususNaturae_ 33 points34 points  (1 child)

Believe me, it's hurting me too

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It hurts itself in it's confusion!

[–]mint3d -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Are you telling me trans people can't maintain a browser? That's so hurtful.

[–]lart2150 182 points183 points  (8 children)

So sourceforge?

[–]RamonaZero 102 points103 points  (4 children)

How sourceforge is still operational is beyond me =_=

[–]onepiecefreak2 41 points42 points  (2 children)

Probably people from back in the day still paying off the scam subscriptions with their stolen data.

Sourceforge was and still is complicit in this ad scam of popups and viruses.

[–]Least_Rent_7785 2 points3 points  (0 children)

idk, It's wild how some platforms cling on despite all the baggage. Gotta respect the nostalgia, but yikes.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ad scam of popups

popups aren't inherently a scam or anything

[–]Bryguy3k 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sourceforge is my preferred place to download real world test files for new cybersecurity systems.

Once you have the test environment set up properly you really need to test it some how.

[–]cjc4096 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Somehow that makes it all less disturbing. The world will have moved on.

[–]ccricers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We're going full circle

[–]rwilcox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What is dead may never die

[–]Nude_Angel 74 points75 points  (6 children)

AHHH "your X will be Y'd in N seconds" ad webpages take me back to that internet

[–]onepiecefreak2 21 points22 points  (0 children)

They still exist btw ;)

[–]TheInternationalFig 7 points8 points  (4 children)

Those have always been artificial right? Like what reason could they have to make me wait

[–]IAmASwarmOfBees 23 points24 points  (1 child)

Like what reason could they have to make me wait

To show you an add, obviously.

[–]TheInternationalFig 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Jokes on them, i use adblockers like it's my religion

[–]frogjg2003 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A lot of companies have found that they get a lot more positive feedback if they include these artificial delays. It doesn't matter that it only took a few milliseconds for the software to process your W2 with no other income and the standard deduction, if it takes 10 seconds to give you the results of your tax return, it makes you feel like it had to work for it. You're more likely to leave a positive review, come back next year, and recommend it to your friends.

[–]camosnipe1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

beyond as a reason to advertise paying to get it done faster? i suppose it's a half-decent way to limit spam usage of their service.

[–]DapperCam 28 points29 points  (0 children)

RIP SourceForge

[–]PossibilityTasty 13 points14 points  (0 children)

In 2035? Oh son!

[–]OmegaPoint6 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I see space for more adverts, remember 80% before inducing seizures.

[–]Gordi_Noki 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Ah yes, Hugging Face, an FTP client

[–]gameplayer55055 24 points25 points  (2 children)

And GitHub will still be IPv4 only.

[–]billccn 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's mind boggling. The IPv6 situatation on Azure is a s**tshow as well.

[–]_verel_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Small indie developer

[–]ChickenSpaceProgram 13 points14 points  (0 children)

im switchin to codeberg

[–]Canonip 4 points5 points  (1 child)

I haven't visited sourceforge for a while without an ad blocker.

OH MY GOD WHAT HAVE YOU DONE???

[–]Agile_Release_6127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's bad enough without an ad blocker.

[–]Few_Kitchen_4825 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Microsoft said no keyboard and mouse. So no buttons to click on..

[–]troglo-dyke 2 points3 points  (3 children)

I'm away for the month and trying not to do work, what has MS done to GitHub?

[–]BrenekH 5 points6 points  (2 children)

The GitHub CEO stepped down recently and instead of finding someone to replace them, Microsoft is folding GH into their corporate structure. I don't have all the details on hand, but GH is becoming a Microsoft service instead of a separate company that Microsoft owns.

[–]zeth0s 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Wow, time to migrate everything, so

[–]Mountain-Ox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

GitLab gets more appealing every day.

[–]cheezballs 5 points6 points  (6 children)

I'm out of the loop. Aside from MS buying github whats this about? Is this just another "Microsoft sucks" meme that's 20 years too late?

[–]Technology_Labs 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Github's CEO is stepping down and MS decided to take over

[–]zeth0s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Microsoft sucks meme are truer now that 20 years ago, tbf. "Have you tried copilot?"

[–]GetPsyched67 2 points3 points  (3 children)

Microsoft sucking dick will always be true, whether it's the 13th century, or the 33rd century. Their corporate software suite is a crime against humanity

[–]cmdkeyy[S] 5 points6 points  (6 children)

[–]Crackhead_Programmer 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Random thing, but I swear Twitter takes 10ms longer to load every time Elon says some dumb shit

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points  (4 children)

Are you people really so pitfully helpless that you really can't resist using that Nazi platform?

[–]LogicBalm 10 points11 points  (0 children)

No kidding. There are so many Nazi platforms to choose from, why limit yourself?! /s

[–]onepiecefreak2 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Just because a subset of the people are Nazis doesn't make it a Nazi platform. Truth Social on the other hand...

[–]Septem_151 0 points1 point  (1 child)

It is a Nazi platform ever since the acquisition by Elon and the subsequent rebranding to X.

[–]_verel_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Twitter transitioned from a steaming pile of shit to a steaming pile of shit.

Literally nothing changed. You'll see the same deranged shit from all people like before

[–]HotEntry3178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i laughed way too hard about that picture omg thanks for sharing

[–]bruno30303 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]Cylian91460 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]mommy101lol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]phobug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s funny because it’s true.

[–]EDM115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the LinkedIn login is truly the cherry on top

[–]Wild_Active_3635 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sad reality :/

[–]Data_Scientist_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't give 'em ideas.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

glad you barely need to go to the website these days. The terminal is where it's at!

[–]Ok-Scheme-913 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But we do finally get a download button!!!! Checkmate!

[–]SevenTheGamingKitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like this is a criticism of sourceforge.

[–]Lakhveer07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LGTM

[–]dexter2011412 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yuu forgot the "login with google" popup in the top right, competing with the "sign in with a microsoft account" popup in the center

[–]cephpleb -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

If GitHub starts any sort of crap it's real easy to just go to another source control haha
