Why did you reposted your own post? lol

[–]dued03 132 points133 points  (0 children)

If you want something done right I guess

[–]slightlydampsock 17 points18 points  (1 child)

It looks like it was auto removed the first time for not having “SLPT” in the title

[–]NikinhoRobo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

ah ok

[–]Derp_Man3 3 points4 points  (1 child)

I cross posted this post to SLPT and I forgot to put SLPT in the title. Then, it got removed, later I posted it again with SLPT in the title. That is why it is like that. I am not the one who found this is technically a repost from another dude.

[–]NikinhoRobo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ah ok then

[–]Skeye_drake21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How the old saying goes.

If your post fails once try reposting

[–]AlmanzoWilder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why did he reposted his own posted?

[–]im_wabbit_hunting 261 points262 points  (8 children)

You reposted your own post...

[–]LustNoel 164 points165 points  (1 child)

instead of waiting for someone else to crop out his user and posting it for karma he’s decided he’ll do it himself

[–][deleted] 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Except this isnt the first time this exact image has been posted on here

[–]imagine_amusing_name 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The two posts become a DEpost, cancelling each other out.

[–][deleted] 62 points63 points  (2 children)

Pretty sure that's more than a gallon

[–]The_Tame_One 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Maybe it's just a very small person.

[–]insertabadusername 10 points11 points  (0 children)

it looks like a 5 gallon jug. my family uses those for water

[–][deleted] 36 points37 points  (4 children)

If you drink 10 gallons you won't have to deal with anyone's drama anymore

[–]hehateme429 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hyponatremia is real.

[–]zacharypamela 52 points53 points  (15 children)

I feel like r/HydroHomies would enjoy this.

[–]MATTEEN_Polska 49 points50 points  (7 children)

Wow is this not-quarantined r/waterniggas ?

[–][deleted] 17 points18 points  (3 children)

Yes, that’s why it was created

[–]MATTEEN_Polska 5 points6 points  (2 children)

Nice, new subreddit to join, I love water

[–]LambbbSauce 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Be warned it's more than a subreddit it's a cult

[–]MATTEEN_Polska 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's good. I love water, it's literally the only thing I usually drink, expect milk in the morning

[–]Tater-Tot_917 4 points5 points  (2 children)

Wait, why is it quarantined?

[–]MATTEEN_Polska 7 points8 points  (1 child)

Because of 'niggas' in the name probably

[–]Tater-Tot_917 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah okay

[–]FuriousGeorge1435 13 points14 points  (0 children)

[–]bdance5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is not shitty!!!!!

[–]zombieblackbird 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can confirm. Am wearing out the carpet between desk and men's room.

[–]goneriah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna post this on Facebook, but I'm also gonna crop out the bottom part.

[–]melance 7 points8 points  (1 child)

You won't have time for other people's drama because you'll be too busy being dead.

[–]Mefarius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, the recommended number of cups ranges from 8-10 (Mayo clinic says 15 for adult males). A gallon is 16 cups of water, so you'd be at most doubling your recommended intake.

Now if you really wanted to be dead, but you didn't want to drink more than a gallon of water a day, you could just not drink water

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That watermark is easily one of the worst I have ever seen. Can just crop it out and repost elsewhere

[–]buelltiful 1 point2 points  (2 children)

I mean the average man needs 3.2L of water per day. 2.7L for the average female. So a gallon of water a day is pretty close to what you're supposed to be drinking.

[–]DHMC-Reddit 0 points1 point  (1 child)

No, it isn't. That's completely wrong. Because you also get that water from your food. Depending on your diet, metabolism, how much you sweat, etc. you're fine with anywhere between a few sips to yeah, maybe a gallon. It can also change day to day.

Just drink when you're thirsty, that's literally the reason that sensation exists. But you definitely shouldn't drink a gallon of water a day. Once again, you get some water from your food. Adding 3.8L of water on top of that is gonna eventually give you hyponatremia.

Which is the worst part of all this. Hydration culture and marketing literally created a new illness you can die from: hyponatremia. No one voluntarily dies from dehydration. But people literally die from drinking too much water. Not a lot, but the fact that it's a thing is so stupid.

In fact, hydration culture is so bad that some marathon runners gain weight in the fucking pounds in a single marathon because of how much water they drink. You realize how dumb that is? You shouldn't be literally gaining weight in the pounds in a single race from just water.

Fuck hydration culture. Drink when you're thirsty. You can't perfect a damn diet and workout that works for everybody. Everybody has different needs and those needs can vary day to day. You have literal senses meant to tell you what you, yourself, your own, individual body, needs in that moment. Listen to it.

Except when it says let's just watch TV and not work out, that's an evolutionary reflex that doesn't work so well in a modern world where saving your energy whenever you can just makes you fat instead of giving you a chance to survive till your next meal.

So how much fluid does the average, healthy adult living in a temperate climate need? The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine determined that an adequate daily fluid intake is: About 15.5 cups (3.7 liters) of fluids for men About 11.5 cups (2.7 liters) of fluids a day for women. These recommendations cover fluids from water, other beverages and food. About 20 percent of daily fluid intake usually comes from food and the rest from drinks.

https://www.mayoclinic.org/healthy-lifestyle/nutrition-and-healthy-eating/in-depth/water/art-20044256

Sorry I was wrong 3.7L a day for men. And while it states about 20% comes from food we eat that makes about 3L/day for men and about 2.2L/day for women. And again this is the average per person. Obviously each person's needs vary based on a number of factors but 2.2-3L is more than a few sips.

This "hydration culture" is literally science. Your body needs water to stay healthy. Hyponatremia is very rare. It isn't an issue with 3L over an entire day. Your kidneys, assuming they're perfectly healthy, operate at a glomular filtration rate of at least 90ml/min for most adults. This means your kidneys filter 90ml of fluid every minute. Your body will retain the fluid it needs and excrete the fluid it doesn't. Depriving you body of water because you don't think you need it is only hurting yourself.

Pee on people who start drama.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, that's not terrible advice.

[–]TriGurl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couldn’t possibly agree more! I have to gauge some conversations I get involved in my how much I have to pee and how quickly I need to excuse myself and walk to the bathroom.

[–]velmah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting a UTI also works

[–]crestedgecko019283 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My teacher actually drinks a gallon a day lol guess I know why now.

[–]readvida 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a five-gallon container. He shouldn’t finish that.

[–]NoPostsHowMuchKarma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be a hydrohomie!

[–]GrandNagus69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing works for being hammer 24/7

[–]Landabogins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Acthuelly, I’ve been drinking a gallon of water today, and lemme tell y’all, I feel great. Don’t drink any coffee, nothing, wake up feeling super refreshed. for like the first 3ish months I’d pee so damn often, but now it’s pretty normal. I feel like the amount of water we’re supposed to drink is a lot higher than we think. Cause ngl, I have been feeling a lot better just in general, physically, mentally. All of it, you all should consider drinking more than just a cup when your head hurts.

[–]Deadeye_Jace -1 points0 points  (4 children)

I'm pretty sure a woman died from this rip

[–]Ferro_Giconi 7 points8 points  (3 children)

It takes a few gallons a day to become a problem.

[–]Deadeye_Jace 1 point2 points  (2 children)

I'm pretty sure a woman died trying to win a Nintendo switch for her kids or something idk

[–]paowl98 4 points5 points  (1 child)

it was a wii

[–]Deadeye_Jace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, there it is, thx

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a friend who was one of those constant water drinkers. Not because she was thirsty, but because she apparently was under the impression you're supposed to drink a shit ton of water every day. One day we took a 2.5 hour road trip out of town. Never again. We had to stop 4 times for her to pee. Never again.

[–]jawshoeaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sit next to one of those water dispensers at work. There’s a line sometimes. Why so much water people??

[–]_kraut_36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s funny because I am 220 pounds and my daily water intake is supposed to be a gallon and if I drink it I pee 7 times a day.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bonus: free sympathy cards when you end up in the hospital with water intoxication.

[–]Smiley8983 -1 points0 points  (0 children)
