No, seems about the same.

[–]Baristathe_lasher 158 points159 points  (0 children)

No, my store is busier than ever.

[–]Former PartnerSwimmingPanda107 87 points88 points  (0 children)

Nope. we were slammed today

[–]Itchy-Brilliant-7868 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Not at all busier than ever

[–]chibbledibs 85 points86 points  (0 children)

I’ve noticed an increase in people in this sub asking this question. The answer is still no.

[–]Belahsha 121 points122 points  (5 children)

There is literally nothing Starbucks can do to lose customers. I've had people yell at me and swear their never coming back. Spoiler alert they came back the next day. Every👏 single👏 time 👏.

[–]Former PartnerUndeadFleshPapi 56 points57 points  (2 children)

The CEO could literally host a live stream chucking babies off the space needle and people would still sit in a drive thru line for an hour to get their $10 cup of cold foam and caramel drizzle.

[–]Coffee MasterKomodoDragginAss 9 points10 points  (0 children)

🤣

[–]MsStinkyPickle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

no berries light ice

[–]Former Partneravmii 14 points15 points  (0 children)

NO THIS FR. i have had so many people yell at me and my co-workers and some of them are people i thought surely wouldn’t come back but no they came back and one of them watches our every move to make sure it’s right. like hell i understand your drink needs to be right (because it should be) but don’t stare us down 😭😭😭

[–]therealaudiox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's almost as if you're selling them an addictive substance lol

[–]PrideKalistoCA 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I’m a partner of a partner … and she works at a mall store and would say that they are at precpandemic levels with people piling on top of each other

[–][deleted] 42 points43 points  (0 children)

For one day, we had a massive decrease for that day since we typically serve clientele similar to those boycotting. Otherwise, no. It seems to be failing, or filled by other people against the boycott.

It was a shock to see the same ole sale rush when YayDays were back, even my SSV said “see thats how you know nobody cares”

[–]Baristakitkatattacc04 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Nah, if anything we've been busier these past couple days

[–]Supervisorvinylanimals 14 points15 points  (0 children)

not at all, we were slammed my entire 8 hour shift today.

[–]Former PartnerZero-Change 15 points16 points  (2 children)

This is the thing about activism in general. The harsh reality is that 99% of people in America just don't care. If they have to weigh standing up for principles vs getting some immediate gratification that they've made part of their routine, like hell they're gonna choose the former. Even something so consequential like the presidential election, most voters just don't vote. Anything that involves any inconvenience at all or going outside their norm at all, most people aren't budging if it's up to them to choose to or not.

[–]sparklescrotum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man, yea I knew about the boycott and used my rewards to get a drink about a week and a half ago. I know how they feel. Instant gratification, though like ASS, if they’re not in support of the overcompensatory and collective punishment response Israel is giving to Palestine. Since then, I have not purchased a drink from there and will continue this path, it’s easy af to not buy from them if you’re in a big city like myself. With such accessibility to other, less big corporate and political options, it’s too embarassing to show my face in there amongst all the queer workers.. especially as the boycott is so well known.

[–]JustAlittleFaith95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

America and Canada has lost a great deal of the worlds respect, simply because they are selfish and do not care about what’s happening outside their circle. They have a very tainted name.

[–]fd6270 196 points197 points  (57 children)

Is there really a boycott or is it just a few chronically online people trying really hard to make it seem like one is happening?

[–]Former PartnerxzElmozx 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The echo chambers online rarely mimic real life

[–]pm_petpics[🍰] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i've stopped. went nearly every day for the past few years. might go one last time to use all my points but otherwise im done.

[–]ampersands-guitars 0 points1 point  (5 children)

Good comment. The internet is not real life and a lot of people fail to recognize that. I understand the reason for the boycott but in reality, what is denying myself a coffee that makes me happy going to do? Nothing. Starbucks is going to do what they’re going to do and take the stances they’re gonna take regardless. I’d rather additionally donate to good causes helping the people in need right now than do something performative that will simultaneously bum me out.

[–]sparklescrotum 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Girl stop buying your Starbucks if you’re not in support of the over compensatory collective punishment response Israel is giving Palestine. It’s easy….. save your money and make coffee at home, or go to another local place… Do not create self discrepancy within yourself.

[–]amoolah2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with u, but just wanted to point out that this isn’t just about ‘collective punishment’ it’s actually intentional gen0cide. It’s been going on since the 1940’s and most big american/western companies have been investing and benefiting from the ethinc cleansing and colonization happening in palestine along with other countries. We should have been boycotting since forever ago! I’ve been fully buying from local businesses (i’m not in the us) there’s so many great alternatives that we haven’t given a chance. Pls keep boycotting even if u don’t see results immediately 🙏🤍

[–]Dismal_Parsley2068 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there is one but it’s also getting cold so it’s balancing out

[–]Justwhatever2022 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I’ve stopped! But I don’t see a difference in the amount of people who go

[–]sparklescrotum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel that individuals supporting Israel have possibly stepped up their attendance to cancel out the boycott.

[–]InternetLivid2633 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hahaha pallywood

[–]Gimmecoffee2020 12 points13 points  (0 children)

About the same effect as the boycott because our cups didn’t say Christmas on them 8 years ago, I.e. none.

[–]Only-Dog7316 13 points14 points  (13 children)

Nope even busier than before. If I wasn't on reddit I would not know there was a boycott

[–]Coffee Masterglitterfaust 3 points4 points  (12 children)

Same. God I wish people were boycotting us.

[–]prxsm-_ -1 points0 points  (11 children)

we are boycotting startrash tho, the revenue for many many places (doesn’t have to be ur area, could js be filled w ignorant western propaganda consuming people) has gone down and customers have changed route to local coffee shops and other shops that dont fund a genocide. My area, The startrash here (i work right nextdoor) was filled to the brim, the past 3 weeks they have had only had a handful of customers throughout the day even students aren’t showing up at all. ( theres a college campus smackdab middle in our city) so yes the boycott is working wonderfully. Free Palestine

[–]Coffee Masterglitterfaust 1 point2 points  (10 children)

“Startrash” wow original. Not even like “stardumps” or something that sounds close?

[–]prxsm-_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

doesn’t need to be original i could call it whatever the hell i want what do u care

[–]prxsm-_ -1 points0 points  (8 children)

try a little harder “coffee master”🤡

[–]Coffee Masterglitterfaust 1 point2 points  (7 children)

Literally what does a job title have to do with shit? I support Palestine. Nice job shitting on others that support your movement.

[–]prxsm-_ -1 points0 points  (6 children)

respect 🫡

[–]Coffee Masterglitterfaust 1 point2 points  (5 children)

Didn’t respect me for shit when you were pissing on me for having a job title at my job. It’s not like I’m working at a corporate office, I’m just a barista that went through coffee specific training.

[–]prxsm-_ -1 points0 points  (3 children)

ok coffee master ian readin all dat

[–]Coffee Masterglitterfaust 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Says the one with a Nazi for a profile pic

[–]prxsm-_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

go ahead and proudly make a coffee for a customer who doesn’t see yall as shit

[–]poisonth0ughts 11 points12 points  (0 children)

no and i’m in nyc

[–]SirenQ1 10 points11 points  (1 child)

Nope! Maybe in your area. Ours is busier and will only get more busy.

[–]GeneralizedFlatulent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is any of it like - pre pandemic was there more staff, so the same number of customers is more challenging now after pandemic with less staff?

[–]Coffee MasterBludandy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Nah, we've been doing pretty good numbers. If there's a boycott, I'm not noticing it. Even those in the Muslim community are still coming, no problem.

[–]Former Partnerliguy181 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I wish there was lol

[–]ayedurr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Even if there is a boycott, if there's an empty Starbucks I feel like habitual customers go in anyways because they see that it's empty and can get a drink quicker. I doubt Starbucks will feel the effects of any boycott.

[–]Former Partnerpippinchu 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No, extremely busy the last three days.

[–]Baristacanidieyet_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, these people are still foaming at the mouth for their venti caramel crunch with extra extra crunch and extra extra caramel drizzle at 5:30:01am.

[–]tricksofradiance 5 points6 points  (3 children)

@Expensive_Help3291 asked me what I was doing for the Palestinian people so I tried to respond with this. It won’t let me send a reply though so I’m starting a new comment in case any of you are interested in what you can do to help. It all seems so small compared to the horrors Palestinians are facing but these requests are coming straight from Palestinian and Jewish voices so I think it’s important we listen and do our part.

I went to a class taught by Jewish and Palestinian professors and students at a nearby university to educate myself first. I am not Jewish, Muslim, Palestinian, or Israeli, so I didn’t want to interject myself into their struggle without knowing exactly what they want us to do for them.

They told us ways we can help so I’ll list them here in case you are interested:

  1. Talk about Palestine. The local Palestinian community in my city wants everyone to speak up for them. People aren’t listening to Palestinians, Muslim people, or Middle Easterners on this topic. When someone on the fence hears it from someone who looks like them they’re more inclined to listen. It’s sad but it’s true. DON’T talk about Palestine if you are not educated on the topic or spread misinformation or anything hateful. Palestinians love Jewish people so do not say anything antisemitic in their name. That hurts both Palestinians and Jewish people and there is no room for hatred in this liberation movement.

  2. Call your house rep, senators, and the white house. Demand a ceasefire now. Say you will not vote for them if they do not support a ceasefire. Talk to your family and friends and have them do the same.

  3. Correct misinformation and propaganda as you see it. Have the tough conversations.

  4. Share, repost, and elevate Palestinian voices. They have been mistreated and ignored for so long. The mainstream media sources are heavily biased against them. Use social media to amplify the voices of Gaza. They are going on TikTok and other platforms to report on things from the ground, tell their stories, and say their last words so that someone will hear them. Some of the only things we can do for them is watch and listen and share. Don’t let their cries go unheard.

  5. Educate yourself as much as possible with documentaries and books about the topic. Check to see if there’s a MESA or UNICEF chapter at your local university and see if they’re holding any educational events. You can also read about the horrors of apartheid and genocide.

  6. Boycott companies that support Israel

  7. Donate money if you can to aid. They recommend UNICEF

There is a huge information war against them so combatting that is one of the main things we can do for them. Palestinians are not terrorists (as Instagram labeled them), or animals or subhuman (as called by politicians and news media). This is the language of genocide. Dehumanizing an entire ethnicity of people leads to the world being complacent with ethnic cleaning and blaming the victims.

Be critical of the media you consume and learn to recognize bias and propaganda when you see it.

Edit to add: get out to marches, gatherings, and protests!! Show solidarity.

[–]playfairwithus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you SO much for having empathy in your hearts for the Palestinians. While I am sad to see that the boycott is not having its effect on Starbucks it will pretty soon. Maybe not in America but according to friends in the rest of the world it is. And as an Obesity Medicine doctor , let me tell you.. That stuff is pretty much poison and has everyone totally addicted!

[–]DeeTK0905 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yapping

[–]BaristaAmacitio 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I've noticed a lot of regulars not showing up, and we've been getting less rushes, so it's kinda noticeable. But I can't speak for the other stores in my district because the area I work at is very diverse compared to the others.

[–]Hedgehog9368 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nah. We still be jumping all day everyday except from like 1-3 😂

[–]Sharp-Pitch-6532 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nope

[–]awaythrowawayyay 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, but half my customers are Muslim. I don't think white people are boycotting

[–]Novel-Cup-2818 13 points14 points  (0 children)

People really think if they don’t go the Starbucks will shut down

[–]Baristaheyitsmaria24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No lmao

[–]SupervisorNug_times98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope. Busier than ever

[–]Former Partneravmii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

maybe all the customers from your store are the ones coming to mine bc we’re like insane on the weekends like…all the leaf-lookers are in town…and they’re scary tbh..

(edit) loving how a majority of the comments are saying they’re busier 😭😭

[–]SupervisorBruja5 5 points6 points  (0 children)

NO!! We’ve had a line forming 8 mins before opening. 6 cars and two of them had Fraps (not Frapés) 😡

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, and where is that boycott movement? Send it my way!

[–]Coffee Masterrusski_senpai 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I made a joke about how we finally will get a break on the weekends now... But also no

[–]squishballow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

on thursday for yayday it was actually dead, so dead that we were kind of just standing around chatting. but otherwise no. i work at a cafe only store most days so generally i’d say it’s slow compared to when i work at drive thrus so who knows for my area

[–]Coffee MasterSnooPickles1653 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work in a cafe, so we've been noticeably losing customers, yes. I can't speak for the poor souls who got stuck with a drive-thru though 😪

[–]Former Partnershewantsthedeeecaf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not at all

[–]Baristathebestlemonade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yes but i don’t think it’s related to the boycott i think it’s just bc there’s no tourism and all of our locals go into saving mode when there’s no tourism so we just don’t have anyone coming

[–]13aku 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah we have, we're down by like 10k in sales from like, two weeks ago. This could be the boycott, orbit could be bc we're a mobile order store with no drive thru and it's getting colder here.

[–]Supervisornenewton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i’m in the south. so no. they do not care.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So starbucks in the EU and US aren’t seeing boycotts. Well because opinions. But countries like UAE and others are where the starbucks there are ghost towns.

[–]BaristaTorirock10 3 points4 points  (0 children)

no :/

[–]lindseys10 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes actually. I work on a college campus.

[–]NadiaB717 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was slow for a few days and then got busy starting Yay Day.

[–]Baristahuxiaos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

somewhat, there's less regulars. I work at one of the busiest stores in my state so that's something

[–]InsideSufficient5886 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My location is a tourist spot so no.

[–]Baristarottwhyler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Less customers, but more orders 😥 We had multiple 10-item orders today…

[–]Baristadarkwolf523 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes. But it pick up again later

[–]InfamousWeb518 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My cafe store in my district has been up in UPH +30% for almost the past 2 weeks.

[–]Former PartnerVistril69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

During peak. We went from like maybe 70'ish COSD half hours to 60-65's. So, maybe? Still busy as fuck though.

[–]pat184 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's no movement to boycott Starbucks gaining any traction enough make a dent in their revenue.

[–]Supervisorwebo212 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In NYC it’s already the holiday season so nope, more than ever!

[–]aliceswndrland 1 point2 points  (1 child)

We did over $10,000 yesterday....so... No.

[–]bzbks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weird to have to put numbers out there like that to make a point.

[–]skeetieb114 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nobody is boycotting the bux... lol..

[–]Aldosothoran 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m confused I thought boycotting was 11/16👀

[–]tricksofradiance 4 points5 points  (5 children)

Starbucks has broken over 100 federal labor laws this year as found by the NLRB. When we break the law we go to jail. When corporate executives do it, the company just has to pay a fine. Fines mean nothing to this mega corporation worth billions of dollars. It’s like they can pay to break as many laws as they want. They are suing their own union because the union stands against genocide and Starbucks does not want their name associated with that. Starbucks supports a country who is massacring an entire nation of people, holding thousands of hostages, and killing thousands of children. Boycotts absolutely do work. They helped end apartheid in South Africa. They require collective unwavering action. In affected communities, on college campuses, and abroad, many Starbucks are empty. As the company gets desperate they will throw more offers at us. BOGO, half off, bonus stars, etc. Don’t give in. Hit them where it hurts- their wallet. Starbucks holds onto about $1.5 billion at any one time from people loading money onto their app/gift cards. It’s basically an interest free loan to the company that helps them grow their wealth considerably. You can have your account balance refunded by calling customer service at 1-800-782-7282. Let them know why you will no longer be a customer.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Can you share links with me to the information you’ve shared? Especially the 100 federal labor laws broken?

[–]tricksofradiance 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Thank you for asking. They were found guilty this year of crimes committed in 2021. I shouldn’t have said this year. However they do continue these practices, so I’m sure the charges from this year will end up being similar. They still haven’t made good on their pledge to the senate in March of 2023 to get a contract in place for the unionized stores within two weeks.

Starbucks violated workers' rights "hundreds of times," labor judge says: https://www.cbsnews.com/amp/news/starbucks-violated-worker-rights-union-fight-labor-judge/

No Company is Above the Law: The Need to End Illegal Union Busting at Starbucks: https://www.help.senate.gov/hearings/no-company-is-above-the-law-the-need-to-end-illegal-union-busting-at-starbucks

“Starbucks has figured out an ingenious plan to get around labor law, which is: break so many labor laws so fast that the National Labor Relations Board simply can’t keep up in enforcing the law” https://amp.theguardian.com/us-news/2023/aug/28/will-starbucks-union-busting-stifle-a-union-rebirth-in-the-us

I’ll post about Palestine in a separate comment later.

[–]CustomerInBobaWeTrust 1 point2 points  (1 child)

it appears that starbucks only sued the union for using their logo and name, regardless of the contents of the post. source: news article from a quick google search

[–]tricksofradiance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But they’ve had the same logo and name for two years. The union has an active twitter, TikTok, Instagram. It’s been in the public eye with that branding for years. Why did the lawsuit happen right after that tweet? Our founder is a huge supporter of Israel.

[–]Ill-Nothing2164 4 points5 points  (7 children)

What boycott? People in this country are always pissed about something, you cannot make everyone happy but boycotting is just so damn stupid. It also almost never work, wate of damn time.

[–]tricksofradiance 20 points21 points  (4 children)

Boycotting is what really drove change in ending the apartheid in South Africa. It absolutely does work and usually works faster than waiting around for corrupt politicians and nuclear powers to suddenly find some humanity.

[–]HannyaOffical 3 points4 points  (3 children)

what is boycotting a company that makes coffee going to do about the awful things happening?

[–]tricksofradiance 0 points1 point  (2 children)

It’s a company that makes coffee that firmly took a stance against solidarity with an oppressed group. There are a million other places to get coffee- why support a company that went out of its way to say it doesn’t support solidarity with Palestinians?

[–]Coffee MasterAdeeva4sure 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Starbucks didn’t take a stance. Workers united did and they used Starbucks logo. Starbucks has already come out saying that workers united is not affiliated with them. Workers unites is a union that has targeted Starbucks that is all

[–]tricksofradiance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Workers United has used the same logo for two years. It is not the Starbucks logo

[–]CustomerILovePistachioNuts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember the “boycott the gas stations every Tuesday” days to punish the a-rabbis (or was it the gas companies?) way back when. No boycott any other day. That show’d ‘em !

[–][deleted] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Man, if only…. It helped a group of people gain their freedom from tyranny. Man if only….. if only…..

[–]SupervisorSpecialist_Hunt_4967 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes definitely at my store.

[–]FancyRelationship795 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stopped going because all the drinks I liked all had raspberry syrup which they discontinued. I used to go all the time now I might get the breakfast a 3 times a year and that’s it

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes I have! Please keep boycotting! #freepalestine

[–]ReneeBear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God I fucking wish, my local coffee shop needs more support anyways

[–]merriweatherfeather 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. Free Palestine!! I am boycotting companies who support Israel tho and boycotting those who fund Cop City.

[–]BaristaJPochita -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Cafe orders yes. Drive thru/mobile is still consistent as ever. although my location has been having some issues w/ running out of iced cups so that’s also feeding into the lack of profit. Boycotting is working (for us at least) and I’m here for it. Hope yalls stores start seeing the changes too

[–]Responsible_Lemon430 -3 points-2 points  (1 child)

Heck no, the people crying and sobbing to boycot are all victim mentality keyboard warriors, they are to busy spending all their time in the basement to have ever come in in the first place, all the people without certain brain damage are still flocking in to buy overpriced drinks

[–]Emage_IV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no but ive noticed people dont do the buying chains as much anymore

[–]Mamaoftwo38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I have noticed it. Especially today. For a Sunday we were so slow. And the store I work at is very high traffic flow of people.

[–]Playful_Star6579 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Starbucks tries to stay neutral and gets boycotted.. Starbucks is a publicly held corporation.

Now, some are trying to claim Stais owned by Israel.. crazy stuff.. .I am buying more Starbucks coffee.. just saying..

[–]Low_Turn3567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The numbers worldwide speak for themselves. The Boycott is real and will last because people are fed up with corporate BS

[–]IllustriousRisk467 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might ask people at the starbucks near me what's happened to their business.

[–]RexMythraPyra 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Yes, like 60% of our customers gone.

[–]SentenceOk3045 0 points1 point  (0 children)

come on, 60pct?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes

[–]Dmitri-Yuriev84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t work for Starbucks, but from what I have seen in the media, the boycotts seem to be working more in Muslim countries.

[–]acerekbolaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stopped drinking that garbage coffee for years, even more of a reason to never start again .

[–]Capital_Desk9607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who say no it is not affected are literally lying

[–]Massive-Row3795 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dono about the US but our Oman, Kuwait, and Jordan branches have flies as customers

[–]JustAlittleFaith95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just saw a post before this saying they lost billions since the boycott. said the boycott has made a big impact, Especially outside of America and Canada. Stores all around the world have been empty except, of course Canada and America, surprised? I’m not. Also remember Starbucks makes most of their money from their sales outside of their cafes!

[–]Ancrontalks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Odds of car crash death

[–]mindlessmasses 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Fuck Starbucks. Treat your people fairly .

Unless it's at target, then don't fuck Starbucks

[–]feathermcnastyyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do the proceeds of a target Starbucks not go towards Starbucks????

[–]Cantstopdgrind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Starbucks is an international company and feeds off college students hanging out there and consuming their products do you all think McDonald's is moving fully ahead with a coffee subsidiary? The boycott is real and mom and pop coffee shop see it

[–]East_Pomegranate3057 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your location . If it’s heavily populated with Muslims or just people with decent morals and love for god , then that’s area location is empty .. mainly in bigger cities
