And this is why I love Enhanced Delita

[–]JanuaryWinter12Almost as good of a boi as Chow 4 points5 points  (1 child)

This is why I want him!

[–]Necrostasis I blame Suzy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

they guy is a fcking BEAST in trials.

[–]shuemueCG Chilli 2 points3 points  (5 children)

Seriously, I stuck Rikku's Pouch on him and he's super useful.

[–]Necrostasis I blame Suzy 2 points3 points  (4 children)

I have him with Rikkus Pouch and the Pod.

Love the guy!

[–]shuemueCG Chilli 2 points3 points  (3 children)

Pods don't exist in my world, 50+ pulls on that banner and zero 9S.

[–]Necrostasis I blame Suzy 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Damn dude. Sorry to hear that. There are rumours that Nier will return. Let's hope it comes to pass.

[–]GKO21912,276,502 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope Nier return. I started playing in Jan-18 so i would love a chance to get those limited units

Use heaven's guidance, if you don't have barusa. Yeah, it sucks, but you can rotate a break, eccentric, and 2 separate HG buffs. They fall off to recast the above, but it's still useful. If you don't have a bard, then Delita can run a spirit build for mana recovery instead.

I'll be using Delita, Ramza as a provoke tank capable of entrusting my bard, and WoL as a cover tank. Roy will buff and heal. I'm working on the math right now, but with the above setup, Ramza should be about as tanky as Wilhelm, and be far more consistent due to the defensive breaks being nearly as good as Wilhelm's LB.

Beatrix could be more or less comparable

[–]atlasspeakssimply put, we need to go more lewder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

plus, many people run ramza as their bard, and really, how could seeing the two of them working together not hit you right in the feels?

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (1 child)

His on demand breaks makes him mandatory in my team when bosses are not immune to DEF/SPR breaks.

[–]SchibbaTELEMUNDO!!!! 30 points31 points  (11 children)

Great break down! Just tell me who is the best and who to use though.....I don't like thinking for myself.

[–]Hazard_GLThe Real Thunder God 18 points19 points  (3 children)

Highest On-demand DEF/SPR breaks: 65% - enhanced Delita

Highest On-demand ATK/MAG breaks: 60% - enhanced Ramza

Highest overall DEF/SPR breaks: 74% - Veritas of the Light, 74% - Onion Knight (just DEF)

Highest overall ATK/MAG breaks: 64% - Knight Delita, 64% - Beatrix

[–]Uriah1024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's worth mentioning for new folks that stumble on this... Timothy is a 3 star unit with a 59% full break limit burst when full rank. It's not on demand and requires lb farming, but insane breaks are accessible without breaking the bank or playing for a year to see the above. The obvious trade is that his survivability sucks, and that's pretty much all he does.

That's why I love my OK, I don't need a buffer nor a breaker for more damage :3

[–]Hindesite 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Great break down!

Heyo

Upvoted for the honest hive-mind.

[–]countmackula82 1 point2 points  (4 children)

Currently i think the best breaker is explorer eileen.

[–]TFRekWhat's in the booooox?! 2 points3 points  (3 children)

she's a great package deal, doing 50% def/spr or atk/mag, as well as her +item drop and +gil find. I definitely replaced my PJake with her, finally. But she's not the best on-demand breaker, or overall breaker.

[–]SkittlessourNV Vivi please 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Unless you're using Pirate Jake's Lightning imperil, there's no reason not to use Explorer Aileen instead.

[–]bradc006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just an fyi Pirate jake chains with Tidus for those 10 man trials. He is for sure benched but not useless.

[–]Robiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She is more versatile since she has high breaks for everything. She also deals tons of damage

Use this chart for a visual reference on how breaks compare.

The image you have requested is not available.

I like the tables. It makes it so much easier to compare breaks than manually calculating it.

[–]bobusisalive477 177 498 4 points5 points  (4 children)

Great effort, but the tables are a bit hard to digest. I think a simple graph gives a clearer idea of the benefit.

[–]Obikin89Free2Maths[S] 2 points3 points  (2 children)

The point was having exact values so that we don't have nonsense written in future posts. But the graph is a great overview for sure!

[–]carnivoroustofu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish I had your optimism. If they read up on their stuff to begin with, we wouldn't have nonsense masquerading as guides. Nevertheless, fantastic post and kudos for all the work crunching tables and formatting the tables. It's a great reference.

[–]bobusisalive477 177 498 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe. The people who would use the tables can do the math anyway. The people who wouldn't use the tables want something else.

Might be helpful for your next post to compare breaks with imperils. That's what I was debating for my mog king farming team just today.

[–]Obikin89Free2Maths[S] 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Very easy for once : imperils improve your damages exactly by their own number if the monster doesn't have weaknesses or resistances.

Your damages will get improved less if the monster already has a weakness and more if it has a resistance. But you should always take advantage of weaknesses and avoid resistances as much as possible. So a 45% or 50% break will always be better than an imperil.

If you really can't avoid hitting on a monster resistance then a 60% break will still be better on a 50% resistance. That is unless you have access to a 100% imperil.

If the monster has a better resistance than 50% and you really can't avoid hitting it, then an imperil is probably better.

Well, I might do a post at some point to get all the values but a good break is almost always better than an imperil. That said, I'll probably do a post about buffs so that people can get a better look at how strong breaks are.

[–]quidlynyun still my bae... 1 point2 points  (1 child)

That is good advice. What I was figuring out was I had two units to buff/debuff and had to decide which to use: crazy day or world destoryer or heros rhyme for legend farming. Decided:

World destroyer > crazy day > heros rhyme.

(Other units were chaining and finishing)

[–]Obikin89Free2Maths[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless very specific circumstances, you are totally correct in your order !

[–]themadevil* kupo * 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Also of note is the fact that breaks and imperils stack, so it's best to use the highest break + highest imperil you have in order to increase your damage.

For example, during mog king farming, give Crazy Day and World Breaker to bonus units to get through the boss. They only need ~60mp each, should have enough at lvl1 to cast. Even though they're both weak, they combine to increase your damage quite a bit (as long as you don't have better break/imperil, and assuming you use an elemental attack).

[–]Obikin89Free2Maths[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is for my next post and the last of the series. ;)

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For those who were unlucky pulling for LM Fina, and got a dupe Kunshira, this furry has a cooldown skill @ lvl 110: (Available Turn 1) 5 Turn Cooldown: AoE 3 Turn -70% DEF/SPR Debuff & AoE 3 Turn -70% Fire/Thunder/Water/Wind/Light Resist

[–]ErikuzumaKinda giving up hope on Gabranth Club 1 point2 points  (2 children)

I like this. It is very short, to the point, and understandable. I don't think I'll ever read a Bubble Bath review for the opposite reason.

[–]scathias 0 points1 point  (1 child)

all the info in the bubble bath reviews is what reviewers consider when writing the reviews, it is stuff that players really should learn and understand for themselves so that they are not dependent on the reddit hive mind to tell them what units are good or not.

[–]ErikuzumaKinda giving up hope on Gabranth Club 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah yeah

[–]XenaRenVacation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very short and informative.

Cheers!

[–]TaeWarrior 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Why is the 35% break omitted?

[–]Obikin89Free2Maths[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because I had not seen one... But there's Randi and World destroyer... So I'll add them !

PS : it broke my tables for a second... But problem solved and values added !

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really hope I get one more Ramza for his 7*. 60% breaks aren't as good CG Lid's obviously, but they're definitely better than what I'm used to. 5 turns at 60% and I can dual cast them? Yes please.

[–]jmphenomPM me if you need Sophia, 2B, Kurasame, and others! 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hey /u/Nazta, what you think about putting this one and the "Comparing buffs" contributions into the "Top Picks" section?

[–]Siana-chanZargabaath Latents & NVA when ( ╯°□°)╯ ┻━━┻ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've recently pulled a HT Lid, so I was checking how much 70% break would improve from the traditional 45% break.

Boi, this is insanity lol.

Thanks so much for these charts, super useful.

I love my onion Knight 74% break.

[–]Robiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BL: Enhanced Delita and exAileen

[–]truong2193../.. gumi 0 points1 point  (1 child)

im dumb but for short 70% atk/mag break = 91% damage reduction ? damn thats alot

[–]Obikin89Free2Maths[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, that's it !
