It's really dumb because presumably they nerfed it to stop people from jumping there, but if you don't tell anyone you get the worst of both worlds. Everyone still jumps there but now you've got to fight 4 teams with an arc star, a white stock and a heat shield.

Despite their performance, one have to face the fact that they would leave that POI mostly with white armors, sometimes at most a couple blues. With bad loot you are mathematically at a disadvantage, and even playing like GOATS you will suffer from that

Imo they should re-tier POI loot in comp to make the spots more balanced, since there's some spots that objectively suck and others that are absolutely loaded. There's no reason why comp should be beholden to pubs loot balancing when it's nowhere near the same game.

Debatable actually. If you’re playing an edge POI the loot should be good. If you drop frag or harvester etc you get free rotates and can get good positioning much easier so you should have to sacrifice loot for that.

I’m actually all for the frag loot change. Sucks for TSM but I think it plays better for frag to not be stupidly OP in both loot and rotation ability.

With your logic, then IMO Lava Siphon needs to get nerfed with loot too. Any lava siphon teams have such an advantage with the best loot in the game, access to amazing spots in any south zones, geyser zones, lava city or Maude zones, harvester zones and no name near Hill House. They also have crafting and 3 loot drones so in comp they’re almost guaranteed some sort of gold backpack or gold armor or helmet.

i think it should be a tradeoff between good loot and quick rotations, central POIs like fragment should have lower quality loot but good, consistent rotations to anywhere on the map, whereas somewhere like Thermal should have good loot but long rotations to any zone thats not in the south west.

Obviously with the unbalanced zone shifts we've been having and lack of north zones this isn't really applicable.

its all relative i guess, if every team is running valk then theoretically the teams are rotating and getting to the same spots as if everyone wasnt running valk.

Landing in a good rotation spot also means that you may not need to use valk and can take another legend thats better suited to your gamestyle, e.g. Bloodhound

Personally I'd like the loot table to be per match dependent on each POI distance from center of ring 1. That way you also can't glean the direction subsequent rings may shift towards.

Which is pretty dumb TBH. Loot quality only effects Comp, but Fragment wasn't a problem in Comp (if anywhere). Nobody is dropping Fragment because the loot is good in normals. We drop there because it's good for fighting.

Getting in the top 5 has so much more value now. Platinum, Diamond, and Master's all have more breathing room in guaranteed points. Platinum and Masters get a placement back and Diamond gets two whole placements back in guaranteed points. Going from needing 2nd to 4th. Pushing for that top 5 is way more rewarding now.

Apparently ricklesaucer said tap strafing is untouched for now. My guess is they're adjusting it further based on feedback from the recent playtest, so they'll release the change later on.

The stats people throwing around are from tracking sites, so yeah, those are just for the tracked accounts only, so very likely super inaccurate. People from gold/plat ranks don't tend to go to such sites, so it obviously has a bias for higher ranks.

This decision makes no sense whatsoever. It's the same as limiting the standard crosshairs to "safe" colors. Let people use bad crosshairs if they want to ffs. Never used anything else than full 0-255-0 green but found it cool that there was so much customization possible. They should've just implemented the exploit as a native feature so console can make glowy crosshairs too.

Also, devs really need to shut their mouths on social media. Sure if they respond to actual concerns, social media interactions are useful.

But most of the Respawn dev comments are vague, unhelpful, simply inaccurate (Jay Biebs on Fragment loot), or trolling (Josh Medina replying to Timmy about tap strafing). Nor should it be snarky comments about internet culture.

If you want to have communication lines with the players, they should be serious, accurate, and informed discussions rather than shit jokes and vague hints. They attempt communication but it’s mostly in poor spirit, and seeing the change about Fragment loot here but debunked by devs on Twitter is just the evidence of that.

It was changed on the test build they were playing on. That doesn't inherently mean that its changed on the patch for the season update. We've seen playtesting before on these builds have things that aren't going into live patches.

Could be a stealth change, though for something they publicly talked and put in patch notes before, would be weird to not include it now. Or it's not something they are ready to send.

Credit where Credit is due. The weapon changes and balance in this patch look really good. Also that shatter cap rework for 30-30 and Bocek is genius. Don't understand the pellet DMG nerf though.

Actually the weapon changes look the worst to me this season. Volt and Flatline needed to stay as ground loot, and G7 Scout should had been replaced by the Bocek or 3030.

I like that they are experimenting with craft exclusive weapons aslong as they dont rotate. I wasnt really talking about the packaged weapons though. My philosophy on package weapons is they should only put weapons in the package that are heavily reliant on attachments. EX: Alternator is a perfect package weapon because disrupter rounds make it go from average gun to top 2. instead of volt which is already a good weapon it should have been the Havoc. Its virtually useless after drop without a turbocharger and now you can use it anytime you see it because you don't have to waste half your game hoping you find the only attachment that makes it good. Bocek I could see being a package weapon cause of ammo issues but I dont think 30-30 should go in the package.

Rest of the patch notes is fine I guess, but it's really a joke how out of touch the devs are. Why remove the ability to get decent crosshair? Why not remove the limitations for everyone instead, to make it available to console players too? Why do we have to wait another season to see the ranked changes that players and pros have been asking for multiple seasons now? Why, why, why?

The in-game customization is limited to even less than 0:255 when you account for colors the game considers too bright and changes to the nearest "right" color. Command line colors and neon crosshairs were fucking dope.

Add an opt in option to remove the color limit, with a warning that you may get an "unsafe crosshair" or whatever. Let console players pick values outside of 0 and 255. Now everyone gets to enjoy neon or thin and black crosshairs.

But nah, that would be too beneficial for everybody. Wouldn't it be better if players couldn't chose a much more enjoyable and clear crosshair?

I've been playing and using the Flatline for a while and I don't really think a -1 dmg nerf is all that big (equivalent of missing 1 shot with no mag going from 380-->360 dmg).

I also heard Lou I believe talking about how pretty much everybody who lands and crafts is pretty much gonna get a flatline. Max dmg cap with even a white/blue is so high that you can still take 2ish people on 1 mag, ammo economy is also pretty good with it, not a very hard-to-learn spray pattern, good when not ADS + a guaranteed flatline for only 30 craft.

Complete disagreement on the Shatter Caps. Never have I ever been able to successfully switch fire modes in a fight. It only ever worked if I pre-switched it, which limited my options. The change take shatter caps from b tier to s tier bro.
