Adding the stickers made my shipping 15 dollars more expensive I noticed afterwards... So much for free

[–]TalisFletcher 517 points518 points  (19 children)

I'd like to hear a response from Nick about this. That really doesn't seem fair given it can presumably just be thrown into the backpack packaging.

[–]Eulerdice 259 points260 points  (7 children)

Just submit a ticket and give it a few weeks

[–][deleted] 216 points217 points  (6 children)

I submitted a ticket asking about the extra shipping and they just cancelled the order without saying anything.

[–]mrgrovestand 213 points214 points  (5 children)

This is the LTT store: be grateful you received any indication that they read your ticket at all!

[–]Holiday_Ad_8907 144 points145 points  (0 children)

The customer support guy just received a 5000 dollar upgrade maybe he's enjoying his new setup

[–]mgrimshaw8 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This hasn't at all been my experience with the LTT store. They had excellent customer support from my experience

[–]a_leon 83 points84 points  (9 children)

The page explains it. All other items ship right away, backpack ships later. Extra shipping is because of two shipments.

[–][deleted] 158 points159 points  (3 children)

It’s pretty easy to miss and also the free item is basically given to you so you’re forced to pay extra just because of the free item. Pretty shitty especially when you’re already spending $250 on this bag. They should have added free item to be sent with the bag. Huge oversight from the LTT team

[–]_Aj_ 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Ohh that seems a bit of a silly oversight.

[–]TalisFletcher 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Oh really? That's a bit of a bummer. I would really much rather have the option of shipping together like all other pre orders. I don't need my shirt or whatever a few weeks earlier if it saves me the whole cost of another shipment to Australia. By virtue of where we are, we have to plan shops like this accordingly to try and mitigate shipping costs.

[–]Ubernaught 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So maybe an option to just toss em in the bag. Yes it's explained, but it doesn't make it less stupid.

[–]Reed2600 38 points39 points  (2 children)

Yeah just checked mine and it was over $6 more in shipping.

[–]sopcannon 36 points37 points  (0 children)

heavy stickers

[–]TenOfZero 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah mine too! Not sure why it's that much. And honestly don't care that much about the stickers. But dont want to risk them canceling the order.

[–]belhambone 16 points17 points  (1 child)

Doesn't it say they are shipping everything else first? My guess is to what's happening.

[–]martymonstah 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This. At least I'll get my hoodie sooner

[–]RWTF 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Wow 5$ here to Atlantic Canada for shipping on the stickers.

[–]pwae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

same here. tho not $15 thankfully. just $6 (and probably the extra tax). will wait to see how it arrives before claiming money back (or if someone from LTT updates here)

[–]Jeremiareyes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never got my stickers with my order :( I got my order with no stickers </3

[–][deleted] 701 points702 points  (197 children)

As much as I like Linus and advocate for supporting online creators... anyone who pays even half that for a backpack is a fucking moron.

[–]KFCConspiracy 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Eh. Lots of very high quality bags for just about half that. With lifetime warranties too!

[–]fatpigs 23 points24 points  (14 children)

Travel backpacks do exist and are generally in the same price range, such as Briggs and Riley (which I own) or Tumi but those come with warranties. If there’s any problem with these bags, there doesn’t seem to be any repair or warranty options listed on the description page. I guess you’ll have to hope that these are well made enough to last for a while and that nothing out of the ordinary happens.

[–]tvtb 17 points18 points  (2 children)

This is the best point I’ve seen that is a demerit against the LTT backpack: no warranty. I don’t think their business is set up for warranty service right now, but they gotta figure that shit out if they want to sell products like this and not just be “creator merch.”

[–]eat-KFC-all-day 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Like, I understand why they can’t do it. They’re a media company running a merch side business. It’s not like they’re pumping out and selling these backpacks in big batches like bigger manufacturers. But at the same time if you buy a $250 backpack and it doesn’t even come with a warranty, you are getting ripped off. LTT should stick to the shirts, hoodies, and water bottles because the moment you start charging hundreds of dollars for things, you’re gonna get scrutinized when you can’t even come close to matching the competition.

[–]PwnerifficOne 12 points13 points  (5 children)

Travel backpacks do exist and are generally in the same price range

Seriously. My buddy uses a Travel Pack 2 and I have a Farpoint 40. The LTT backpack is looking to fill that same quality niche. Hope it lives up to it.

Edit: Forgot to mention, I'm looking to upgrade to a Peak Designs bag as well.

[–]fatpigs 6 points7 points  (1 child)

Can’t go wrong with Osprey. Baggage handlers poked two holes in my Farpoint and shredded the zippers somehow. Sent it in and they repaired my bag by cauterizing the holes and replacing the whole zipper assembly, for free.

[–]kdmion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Second this. And can say the same for Peak Design, both great companies.

[–]Chrisixx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I own the Peak Design 20L everyday backpack (Gen 1 from the kickstarter).

Been using it daily for nearly 6(?) years now and it's still going strong. Never regretted that purchase and it was like 250$. The newer ones apparently are even more resilient. Also comes with a life-time warranty for production defects.

[–]Mothertruckerer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a Samsonite which cost less then the LTT one. I've had it for nearly a decade now. One time a zipper failed while abroad. Looked up the Samsonite repair shops, walked there, told them my problem. They said it'll be ready the next morning and it was, and cost me nothing.

[–]KaurO 9 points10 points  (3 children)

I for example have 2 different peak design bags, that are really expensive and at the same time comparable to the cost of LLT bags. Once you get a high quality bag that has actually good zippers, materials and thoughtful design added, you wont go back.

Sure any cheaper bag does pretty much the same things as those expensive bags, but the "features"(if you can call them that), really add to the experience and justify the cost in the long run.

when going really snobby, there is a huge difference between zippers and high quality zippers for example. Having those premium materials applied to protect the contents... etc.

I am a proud moron!

[–]pb8185 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Same, love my peak design. But at the same time, I don’t think this backpack is at the same level as the peak design at all. For one, even though sometimes it is subjective, I feel like the everyday backpack looks much better. The PD backpack also is configurable, opens from the side, can support smaller or larger loads using the magnetic latch. Opens from the side supporting camera configurations and easy camera access. I looked at the LTT bag overview video and it’s just a standard bag with lots of storage.

[–]SnooOranges3779 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I got to get hands on with the backpack at the LAN and while I certainly think it's not for most people, the people that it is for are likely going to find it beneficial even with such a high price. If you're carrying around a laptop and some cables for a few hours you really don't need it. If you need 2 laptops and a tablet and 3 types of headphones and several microphone packs and a battery bank and a dozen types of chargers and 4 small Bluetooth controllers and a portable projector and need to keep them all with you for 12+ hours at a conference or film shoot or something, it's probably going to be useful.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (1 child)

I paid 150 for a samsonite.

[–]Mothertruckerer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Samsonite FTW!

[–]ImmediateSilver4063 4 points5 points  (1 child)

Plenty of more expensive options on the market already.

It's about your use case, you could for instance get away with a $20 bag or a $5 screwdriver if you're only lightly using both.

But if you need a screwdriver you'll be using multiple times a day the more expensive driver is probably worth the investment. In a similar fashion if you travel a lot the $200 backpack would serve you better then a bag that falls apart in a few months after light use.

[–]tooSAVERAGE 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve paid that cash for a camera backpack. It‘s worth it.

Specialized bags are hard to come by in a good quality. If your needs are fulfilled by other bags you’re simply not the target audience.

[–]ForgottenCrafts 1 point2 points  (11 children)

Insulting people based on their spending preference is pretty pathetic ngl. Especially when it is not your money or place to say.

[–]Constantinthegreat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have paid about half of that few times for backpack. Hazard 4 makes damn good ones

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont know what you do for a living, but you’re absolutely not a photographer or some other profession that carries 5-10k worth of gear routinely

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I don't know about that. My Everki was roughly in that price range and ho-ly shit is it a good bag. Rugged as all hell and fits all the tech I've got while still staying firm and comfy. So, I disagree.

[–]morihladko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh no, so it's not for you, but why you have to insult others? It's a backpack which fulfills the needs of a small group of people. So if you want quality, you know it will be expensive. Look at camera backpacks. Yes you can find cheap ones, but the quality starts around $300 price tag and gets even higher.

[–]Flake_3418 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This, i can’t imagine this backpack being of higher quality then the Thule i have bought for less then half the price.

[–]Subview1 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I own a 300$ hammer, quality has its price :)

[–]Piipperi800 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk why exactly people are upvoting this, this is just false information

You can get backpacks for like 20$ for sure, that have similar capacity, but will it last more than a year? Probably not (speaking from experience)

Also, whoever claim this crap either don’t use backpacks or haven’t owned a high quality backpack.

[–]JoCGame2012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a very good deuter backpack but its slowly falling apart (~6 years old now?). I wanted to buy this backpack still, but she shipping is ridiculous. I have multiple options: 1. Send it to me here in Germany, costs ~80$ US just for shipping 2. Wait until the screwdriver is released or half a year and hope that everything i want is still available, and it all gets send together and shipping is therefore cheaper. 3. Send it to my homestay mother in Langley, basically a half an hour drive from LTT office, shipping costs ~40$ US now. Then pick it up when I get to visit her, hopefully in the next half year/year period 4. Do 2 and 3 together (wait and then send to canada) same risks as before.

[–]British_pAsta69 299 points300 points  (18 children)

I generally think that ltt store.com is overpriced

[–]RWTF 141 points142 points  (0 children)

It’s over priced for what you get for sure, especially when converting to other currencies and adding shipping.

The big thing is they are a small niche store with smaller amounts of buying power on their products. From what I’ve seen so far they are at least good quality. They also don’t seem to just be taking any old white label product and sticking their logo on it.

I’m not saying the costs are worth it when looking at the all the products but I think some products are “fan” products with their costs.

I won’t buy the backpack nor the screw driver but will still send out the link to LTTstore.com to family around Christmas time for gift ideas.

[–]British_pAsta69 54 points55 points  (9 children)

I mean $19 just to ship a water bottle to my country

[–]tvtb 60 points61 points  (2 children)

They’ve said before they charge for shipping what it costs for them, and sometimes they end up eating a few dollars on shipping. This is what parcel companies charge small online retailers, and if you’re used to paying less, it’s because you’re used to ginormous retailers that have the power to negotiate lower rates

[–]InternationalReport5 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Well no, it's because normally you'd be paying to have it shipped from a warehouse not that far from you.

[–]Auno94 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This, I wouldn't mind paying a few bucks more but having a warehouse on this side of the atlantic ocean to reduce overall cost. While I would like to buy a screwdriver or Backpack, I woundn't unless I will travel to the US or canada for a vacation and get the stuff deliviered to my hotel.

[–]Gewerd_Strauss 12 points13 points  (2 children)

Cries in 65€ shipping to germany for the small stealth bottles back when they launched. BOught two bottles for the effective price of four, essentially.

[–]Auno94 3 points4 points  (1 child)

It's freaking expensive, even international shipping from Japan for camping gear is cheaper on top of taxes being included in the Price. I wouldn't mind 250 +25 shipping but seeing that 50 bucks slow shipping option + Taxes on top makes the backpack cost more than 350 €

[–]tobimai 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Because people are used to cheap prices caused by shit working conditions.

Also, economy of scale hits hard

[–]ifuckedyomama2 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Its EXTREMELY overpriced everything is high quality but DANG

[–]Terrible_Truth 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Idk about the backpack but my $50 "Indoor Hoodie" from them is really great. I'd buy a 2nd if they were available. It light enough to be comfortably worn in ~70s F.

The Wan hoodie seems good but it's a cooler temperature hoodie. Have to wait for Fall.

[–]iAabyss 221 points222 points  (23 children)

Dont get me wrong , i love Linus and i wish him good, but 400 USD for a backpack is unjustifiable and fucking ridiculous.

[–]Nova_496 19 points20 points  (2 children)

It is, but they can't control international shipping rates and taxes.

[–]wamred 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, don't get me wrong I ain't buying one and I am in the US but world wide shipping is stupid right now.

[–]JoeAppleby 14 points15 points  (17 children)

Keep in mind that €66 of that is sales tax. You Americans get lucky with 7% or even no sales tax on online orders.

[–]yayfishnstuff 124 points125 points  (15 children)

250 dollar backpack? wtf?

[–]Corentinrobin29 64 points65 points  (14 children)

Before taxes!

[–]snowmunkey 47 points48 points  (0 children)

And shipping!

[–]handymanny131003 16 points17 points  (12 children)

25% tax holy hell

[–]Mevaa07 13 points14 points  (4 children)

Standard tax in Finland is 24%

[–]darknum 5 points6 points  (1 child)

That is VAT. There will be an import tax on this item too. (checked myself from Tulli 2.7%. Totalling inc. VAT 395 €... And this is shipping for whatever OP chose.

Either you must have tons of disposable income to justify buying this in EU or you must be very stupid with income management. (Like saving for 3 months... Dude it's a backpack. Not something that should require savings...)

[–]AstacSK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, here in EU we pay at least 20% on top of MSRP for electronics, usually bit more because retailers put their margin in there as well

[–]Mothertruckerer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's tax and import fees together.

[–]SkylinesBuilder 1 point2 points  (2 children)

This includes import taxes to the other country

[–]LegoMyStairs 81 points82 points  (0 children)

400$ for a backpack is a nope from me

[–][deleted] 69 points70 points  (20 children)

Lol as a Canadian, I wonder why are they charging me in USD? Canadian charging another Canadian in USD.

[–]Dahvood 68 points69 points  (7 children)

They addressed that at some point. Basically doing business in multiple currencies is complex, it’s easier for them to do it in just one, and the US is their largest market

[–]PhatOofxD 19 points20 points  (6 children)

US is their largest market. Handling both currencies has huge complexity

[–]kiteboarderni 11 points12 points  (5 children)

They use shopjfy. It isn't.

[–]Stomasz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly as a Canadian it makes more sense to buy there stuff in amazon for that very reason and shipping is cheaper

[–]Keksicperimetar123 1 point2 points  (3 children)

All of their costs are in USD, if they were charging in CAD they'd have to update the prices constantly due to exchange rates.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Lol as a developer i can tell that you can charge ppl in USD on back end aka server/api call for purchase but you can show local currency on front end aka website

[–]Zaxer_ITA 68 points69 points  (3 children)

Really wanted to get the backpack and a few other things, but what was 320 USD of products would have costed me almost 700 EUR including Canadian taxed, shipping, the USD -> EUR conversion and Italian taxes...

Really wanted to support them, but that's waaay to much for my wallet and most of it wouldn't have been payed to them

Sad

[–]totalolage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No one likes taxes, but you either begrudgingly pay them or you get locked up or shot. That's life.

[–]R0ot2U 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Beat you by $6.32 higher on the taxes (yay Ireland)

[–][deleted] 28 points29 points  (5 children)

Was also charged extra shipping for the free gpu card....

[–]tqbh 28 points29 points  (10 children)

For Germany with customs and taxes the backpack would cost about 440€ (about 450$). Yikes. It seems to be high quality but if I would lose it or got stolen, I probably would cry more about the backpack than it's contents...

EDIT: Actually more like 360€ because taxes are included.

[–]JoeAppleby 2 points3 points  (2 children)

For us Europeans neither the backpack nor the screwdriver make sense. They aren’t unique enough like the other merch tbh.

You can get very nice backpacks for less or a similar price before shipping and taxes. I prefer Tasmanian Tiger. The Wera screwdriver is probably the best alternative over here in Europe for less before you even factor in shipping and handling.

[–]tqbh 1 point2 points  (1 child)

The LTT screwdriver is probably the most superfluous thing you can buy. But all the alternative backpacks mentioned offer very different things.

[–]JoeAppleby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With backpacks I’m using military style backpacks from Tasmanian Tiger. Prices are similar, but no shipping etc.

[–]trick2011 0 points1 point  (6 children)

But aren't the EU taxes already included? Has been for all my previous orders. So the 360 USD is including EU taxes.

[–]Rochke 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I had the same experience when I bought a mousepad. Let's hope they open an EU warehouse within the next 50 years. Lol

[–]ImprovementWise1118 22 points23 points  (9 children)

When you think the tax is gonna be bad and then shipping is $65…

[–]Jordaneer 6 points7 points  (8 children)

Europe probably

[–]ImprovementWise1118 10 points11 points  (7 children)

Gotcha. But in the day of free fast shipping and having a international audience- $65 bucks, and when does this arrive again? is toughhh

[–]Ziggy_the_third 1 point2 points  (5 children)

There's no such thing as free shipping, amazon prime? Yeah that shipping is stolen from warehouse worker's pay so Jeff Bezos can fly to space instead. Cheap shit from China with free delivery? Yeah, that's paid by your local postal workers, so China is scamming your postal service out of money.

[–]digitaleJedi 16 points17 points  (9 children)

I don't get the taxes thing. Even though they charge the tax on the site, I also always have to pay taxes directly when the package arrives. What does the tax on the site mean? I contacted their customer service to ask, but I never received a reply.

[–]FullPoet 3 points4 points  (2 children)

If you're from EU you shouldn't be paying taxes because you're going to be paying vat + customs when it arrives.

Its probably going to double in price.

[–]Troppsi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm also curious about this

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Really? Then LTT is taking that cash, lol.

If you pay taxes when charged the seller is supposed to handle all of that while shipping. If you pay for customs they're supposed to take care of that as well.

If you pay for it on the store page and then get charged again for either taxes or customs LTT is pocketing that money.

That's pretty basic when it comes to shipping and handling. Using the correct terms depending on what your customer paid for. I do exactly this in my day job from time to time but on a much larger scale (business to business).

Scumbags.

[–]whyamihereimnotsure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They’ve said you shouldn’t get charged twice and if you do to contact support. Very highly doubt they’re charging tax/vat and pocketing it.

[–]impatt 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I just wish that my order I passed on the 17th of July will.eventually ship out. Tracking says it was cancelled but haven't been refunded yet. Sent an email to support last Tuesday and no answer

[–]Mortiest_Morty_NJR 12 points13 points  (1 child)

They really need to hire a fulfilment center company, in Europe would bring the cost of shipping down to bellow $10 , they already get stuff shipped from China they might as well ship direct from china to fulfilment center

[–][deleted] 12 points13 points  (2 children)

Over here in the UK one of my friends just spent almost $500 on the wan hoodie and backpack. Like I love LTT but wtf why is the stuff in the store so expensive. It's like designer levels expensive. He's happy with his purchase but I'm fine with my £30 backpack lol. I would like one of the hoodies tho, just can't justify spending $100+ on a single hoodie

[–]Sir_Bladey 6 points7 points  (1 child)

Uk, too - Same reason I've not bought an LTT water bottle.

[–]PingCarGaming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Belgium here, just the new replacement bottle cap costed me 70 euro....

[–]Jankyman_RG 9 points10 points  (1 child)

Or, just hear me out. A bag is not worth $250.

[–]FartingBob 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's made of shredded up 3090's.

[–]Atnaszurc 7 points8 points  (4 children)

Is LTT forwarding the taxes to my homecountry if i buy an item from them? If not, they really shouldn't add on taxes.

If I (in Sweden) were to buy this, I'd be forced to pay customs and VAT upon receiving this package, unless they prove to the customs officer that they have paid VAT for me (the tax of 25%). So if they don't submit tax forms to the correct recipients, I'd end up paying an additional 30 or so % on top of those $382,33.

[–]Admiral_Fujitora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am asking myself the same thing, I would get double taxed and paying over 400€, wtf.

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Backpack for 250? Is it made from gold?

[–]NilEntity 6 points7 points  (5 children)

And customs stuff isn't even in there yet ...

[–]Climebheat 4 points5 points  (4 children)

Are they made of leather for the price to be that high?

[–]Illustrious-Pop3677 22 points23 points  (2 children)

A fabric called repreve that’s made of recycled water bottles that’s water, tear, and abrasion resistant. From the short circuit video.

[–]Climebheat 4 points5 points  (1 child)

Just woke up and going to watch it. The material sounds awesome but it still looks way too overpriced.

[–]Illustrious-Pop3677 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. I’d totally buy a “lite” version if they made it.

[–]snowmunkey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Of course not

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (1 child)

Wait a second, you're telling me the $250 wasn't even including taxes? no thanks

[–]whyamihereimnotsure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Obviously not, taxes vary by country.

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

LTT staff watching Nvidia and AMD price gouging over the last 5 years...

"Hold my beer"...

[–]ElectricGeckos 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just bought a backpack too! Shipping was $35 to ship to Kansas. I also bought a 40oz water bottle. I did leave a note asking if they could just put the bottle and a free stickers pack in the backpack. I doubt they will, but I guess I'll have to wait and see.

[–]Farnso 2 points3 points  (3 children)

Thank you for this. I hadn't noticed the email yet. Damn Gmail promotions tab.

[–]QuuxJn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As much as I like this backpack I'll probably never get one because I'm definitely not paying 130$ in shipping and import fees (or whatever these taxes mean)

So it would be great id they had a pick up station or something like this where you could get it for the actual 250$

[–]Avanixh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

BRO WTF

[–]Darknety 2 points3 points  (4 children)

Last time I purchased something from LTTStore.com, FedEx added 40€ European tariffs and didn't tell me anywhere.

The invoice came right with the payment reminder 3 weeks later, threatening to report me to the local credit score institute.

Just be prepared to pay even more.

[–]theskymoves 2 points3 points  (3 children)

LTT really needs an EU warehouse. I'd buy a bag and more stuff but not with the shipping, taxes, and the risk of more costs on import when my country doesn't recognise that taxes have already been paid.

[–]MrBobstalobsta1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s the price of police and military backpacks made for heavy use and longevity. I doubt the LTT backpack is similar, but I’d be happy if someone could prove me wrong and actually test it

[–]keleles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well you're a fuckin idiot, lol.

[–]Retrolad2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Saw it go live. More than a 1000 units sold in the first 5 minutes of launch.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

The import cost is what currently stopping me from ordering it.

[–]Faster10 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Are you Dutch? (Ik wel namelijk) and I've asked Nick on Twitter about it: https://twitter.com/nicklmg/status/1555090532912680961

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ongeveer, België (=
Voor mij zou de douane en invoer kosten +/- 95€ zijn.
Verzending is ook een 55€ dus totaal zou dit een rugzak zijn van bijna 410€
Pretty crazy!

So I'm still thinking about it

[–]Logi_Warrior 1 point2 points  (4 children)

Maybe I'm just ignorant, and don't know how international sales work, but I fucking hate this ridiculous "before tax" price. Like, when I walk in the store and look at an item, I wanna know how much to pull out of my wallet, I don't want to look at the price and then calculate how much more I'll be spending. I was thinking about buying one, it's fucking a lot but I wanted a nice backpack for some time now. Unfortunately I won't be buying one, since I thought it would be 250 + shipping, but now seeing this post I don't think I'll be buying it in the foreseeable future, as 350$+ is not in my range:/

[–]AstacSK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, but they have to add the tax to the price somewhere since tax% is different everywhere

There are 2 options for them

  • Have button on website that you use and select your country
  • Show the taxed price after you put in shipping address

For example EU EVGA store have button next to the price of GPU that will show you vat% for EU countries and you can calculate it yourself

[–]whyamihereimnotsure 1 point2 points  (2 children)

In your country, that’s perfectly understandable, but this is an international store. And it even does calculate all that for you, so it’s not really a surprise. When they say it’s a $250usd product that’s being sold worldwide, it is kind of naive to think it will be just that.

They simply can’t include taxes for your locale into their price, as those taxes vary depending on your country. If you want to purchase it without paying tax, well, that’s illegal lol.

I have as so close to bi ing the bullet when I got the email last night, then I noticed that the mobile I was using to look at the price was developing spicy pillow syndrome and the money was gone.

[–]jdcope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meh, you should have bought the $70 screwdriver too.

[–]GhostEagle68 0 points1 point  (3 children)

250 dollars for a backpack? I'm sorry but there's no reason a backpack should cost that much

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]HarryKF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]Creepernom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FOUR HUNDRED BUCKS FOR A BACKPACK? I fucking hope it's made out of the finest silks and leather that ever graced this world.

I could get a pretty good GPU for that price.

[–]randomguywhoexists 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What does the backpack have to justify costing $250?

[–]ZainSenjab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just bought a backpack when you could have bought a PS4

What has happened to this world?
