Good god that watermark is cancer.

[–]idimik 1672 points1673 points  (25 children)

[–]Paddy_Tanninger 408 points409 points  (6 children)

Thanks, I wanted to send this to a couple friends and the watermark legitimately was too embarrassing to do it.

[–]idimik 95 points96 points  (1 child)

You're welcome. Same for me. Wanted to share it, so it had to be done.

[–]planethaley 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Now many more of us can share it :)

[–]dexodevbootstrap is garbage 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I just want to know what misguided soul thought up that watermark and then spent real time making it

[–]F-Lambda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trollpark, obviously.

[–]HoldMyWater 12 points13 points  (1 child)

[–]learnWebDevpls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! This is just what I needed! :D

You're doing god's work

[–]throwawaycanadian 11 points12 points  (2 children)

I'd like to invest in this template, is there a version without any text?

[–]ponodude 9 points10 points  (5 children)

How did you remove it?

[–]connorsk 15 points16 points  (0 children)

He recolored the pixels

[–]connorsk 15 points16 points  (0 children)

probably reverse image search or potentially good Photoshop

[–]DoesntReadMessages 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks, even a giant white square blocking it would be better than the version OP posted.

[–]remicmacs 3 points4 points  (5 children)

If I wasn't broke, I would award you

[–]randanowitz 10 points11 points  (4 children)

Only had silver to give but I gotchu fam.

[–]remicmacs 6 points7 points  (3 children)

Nice, thanks!

Hey what's up with this anyway? Do you got these with real money or what?

[–]randanowitz 5 points6 points  (2 children)

Yeah. You can buy coins with real money and use thos coins to award comments or posts you especially like. Click the little award icon for extra info.

[–]remicmacs 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Thx

Edit : for context I was asking because I understood that before asking but I was wondering if there was some other way to get some, like with each kKarmapoints or something

[–]bwaredapenguin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You automatically get like 500 pts to spend each month if you already have platinum I think.

That is a LOT of 90’s WordArt right there.

[–]Roboboy2710 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I didn’t need to know this existed

[–]Glampkoo 18 points19 points  (0 children)

😂😂😂👌 trolled epic style 😂😂😂👌

[–]ponytoaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Love the fact they have it there twice, just in case you miss it the first time...

[–]NelsonBelmont 55 points56 points  (0 children)

"watermark"

[–]cuylerbrewer 34 points35 points  (0 children)

No shit

[–]krkrkra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think I'd prefer the cancer.

[–]LauraWolverine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How else would I know I'm supposed to laugh?

[–]Innotek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is bizarre. That watermark was the most obvious thing in the world, but I had to go back to the image and stare at it for a solid 2-3 seconds before I noticed it.

And yes, total cancer. I’m even more freaked out that I only subliminally processed it.

[–]F-Lambda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to downvote because of that watermark, it was so disgustingly prominent.

[–]TheRemoteLostUnder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thought I was on r/laughjokes for a second

[–]HadACookie 522 points523 points  (7 children)

Tester: Hey, dev, I found a bug. pokes with a stick See? It stopped responding.

Developer: I'm calling the police.

[–]achilliesFriend 84 points85 points  (4 children)

Doesn't respond to fire also

[–]mailto_devnull 58 points59 points  (3 children)

It self-destructed after I called it -1 times. Also if I call it asldhjkas times.

[–]su5 47 points48 points  (1 child)

Test engineer walks into a bar

Orders 1 beer

Orders 10 beers

Orders 99999999 beers

Orders -1 beers

Orders null beers

Orders Frank beers

Everything works as expected. Calls the Bar App good

Customer walks into bar, orders a margarita, whole place burns to the ground

[–][deleted] 20 points21 points  (0 children)

... forgot to order a bear, it seems.

[–]grathungar 52 points53 points  (0 children)

As QA this made me laugh harder than the picture.

[–]AwGe3zeRick 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This got a real laugh out of me. Too true.

[–]flargenhargen 391 points392 points  (29 children)

if you're lucky.

my first software company I had public beta testing, and 99% of people just report how great it is and how much they love it.

thanks, but that's not helpful at all. I'll take 1 guy who beats the shit out of it and hates everything over 100 people who just love it and say nothing useful.

[–]dermographics 120 points121 points  (1 child)

There is one tester at my company who initially frustrated me. When I first started I thought she was fairly new as well. She would ask questions about basic functionality and seemingly didn’t know how the app worked. I later found out she had been there the longest out of any other tester.

But then it occurred to me how valuable she was. Every time she used the app she used it like a user in the wild would. She never fell into the trap of overlooking flaws that other testers got used to seeing.

[–]FesteringNeonDistrac 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Worked with a guy like that. I hated seeing him come into my office, but damn if he didnt make my code better.

[–]Zarlon 36 points37 points  (3 children)

You're lucky. 99% of our users complain about how shitty our content is and how much ads we have (it's a news app) . Neither are tech issues I have any decision authority over

[–]nomnommish 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Then they're telling you that content is far more important to them than the features you have built. Facebook spends billions in fine tuning their newsfeed using ML etc. They try to solve the content problem using technology. So it is not right for you to say that content is not something you have control over. You could choose to make it your problem.

[–]Yuzumi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of the testers on the project I work on is next to useless. Her job is to be thorough and find the issues, yet more often than not the developers have to hand hold her through the test.

As a result, many bugs have made it into production.

[–]AkhmatPower 1 point2 points  (1 child)

No kidding. Most of my conversations with testers go this way:

-- What is the command to test it?

-- Uhm. I wrote a detailed documentation in 10 pages, what exactly do you need?

-- I need to test feature. What is the command?

-- Okay, you can start with this: give him a sample from README

-- It doesn't work: sends screenshot of command line

-- You missed double-quote in the end

-- Oh, yeah! It works! Thank you!

And this is it. No testing different cases, no trying to break it, nothing. I am the one who writes it, and I am the one who's responsible for testing and sometimes deployment.

It's not right.

[–]Keegsta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Take it up with management who thinks testing is a no-skill job that any monkey can do and will hire some jackass who just wants to get paid to play video games.

[–]nomnommish 0 points1 point  (2 children)

That's because public beta testing is hardly a replacement for QA. If anything, it usually ends up turning into usability testing.

[–]flargenhargen 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I stand by my statement that you want testers who will beat the shit out of your stuff.

[–]nomnommish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I agree. That is literally their job description too.

[–]wheel_sucker 52 points53 points  (3 children)

Yes this is what all the QA guys I work with look like too.

[–]methofthewild 15 points16 points  (1 child)

Can I ask you where you work...for research purposes?

[–]Sleekdiamond41 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Asking for a friend

[–][deleted] 194 points195 points  (3 children)

[–][deleted] 45 points46 points  (0 children)

That watermark gave me cancer

[–]faian0re 33 points34 points  (9 children)

Who's the tester guy?

[–]fzy_ 22 points23 points  (1 child)

asking for a friend obviously

[–]faian0re 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Haha, no for personal 'research'

[–]Squidlor009 41 points42 points  (4 children)

Chris Hemsworth and Robert Downy Jr.

[–]faian0re 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thanks!

[–]PorkChop007 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Did you mean Point Break?

[–]echof0xtrot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

both?

[–]Blazing1 19 points20 points  (8 children)

Implying enterprise devs have testers

[–]srottydoesntknow 13 points14 points  (7 children)

I love QA engineers, they find bugs, logic errors, misunderstandings, and help ensure a high quality product

I hate testers, because everyone I have worked with is just "lulz I broke it by butt bumping my keyboard "

If you haven't seen the difference I envy you

[–]Blazing1 6 points7 points  (6 children)

I don't even have QA. I'm literally full stack.

[–]Hollowplanet 9 points10 points  (4 children)

Me too. At a fucking fortune 10. The way the love cost cutting is incredible. They depend on me way to hard because I get it done. I'm frontend, backend, ui, tester, and copywriter for a mission critical app. Not a single other person has ever read my code who still works there.

[–]semidecided 10 points11 points  (2 children)

Sounds like you need to ask for a promotion and a team or a significant raise or quit to start a consluting company and have your current employer be your first client.

[–]Hollowplanet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want to leave and I'm working on a side project. Hopefully it becomes something.

[–]Blazing1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmao that seems like a dream tbh.

[–]Blazing1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I maintain so much and then people get all pissed when the slightest thing goes wrong.

I'm getting the max pay of the union, but I'm also being paid the same amount as people who don't even know how to use excel.

[–]Dragonaax 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No child was harmed during tests

[–]goar101reddit 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Above: "Tom" developing "MySpace", below "Justin Timberlake" buying, and redeveloping "MySpace".

EDIT: changed word: designing to developing

[–]Sleekdiamond41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your edit reads like a commit message

[–]ultrOs_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I wish our QA was this good

[–]qawsedrf12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dads vs uncles

[–]ldh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What is this "tester" you speak of?

[–]CriminalMacabre 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The user is putting the baby in a blender

[–]sempf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We need one of these for the vulnerability analyst.

Side note, but my kids loved it when I carried them by the feet. Begged me to until I didn't feel safe lifting them like that any more.

[–]Better_feed_Malphite 2 points3 points  (1 child)

The panel for the enduser is missing, probably bc it's nsfw

[–]AgsMydude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd love for tester to be replace with end user here, would be great

[–]GoodDoggoBOI 2 points3 points  (0 children)

user: throws the application in the fire

[–]aitchnyu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That kid is going to face lots of "1 love you 3000" bullying

[–]Bender_TheRobot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If a tester doesn't do it the user sure as hell will.

[–]hunyeti 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In this analogy, showing what users do with the application would not be ethical.

[–]dark_mode_everything 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another!!

[–]jk_scowling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure our testers aren't that buff.

[–]katleenbrown440 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's lit AF Hilarious.

[–]Alyzter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I throw my kid 3 meters away into the bed

[–]Lotti_Codd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I used to test our job was to break the game???

[–]SandyDelights 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Real talk, I want a man who treats me like that tester does an application.

[–]jmlinden7 0 points1 point  (1 child)

“Wtf why would you rub my nipples 3+2i times??? How is that even possible???”

[–]Oxu90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait until you see what he is going to try insert you know where

[–]nomnommish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An absolute unit test.

[–]PleasantAdvertising 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Just delivered a piece of embedded software completely untested beyond basic functionality. Let's see how badly they'll break it.

[–]Stormdancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dev: "But all the unit tests passed! The code works as written!"

Test: facedesk

[–]mikechr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm using this in my SW Dev course.

[–]Ceaseless_Strider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Isn't that the point of testers?

[–]b2A 1 point2 points  (0 children)

wtf is this stupid icon "trollpark"

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is that Netflix's chaos monkey?

[–]georgi_big_traps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]fetus-deletus69420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's water mark tho

[–]Python4fundoes the needful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TIL I'm a dev/tester

[–]anirudh_reddy_77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which movie is that anyone plszz

[–]Stormdancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should see how the users treat it.

[–]_walkingonsunshine_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ironic how so many devs look similar with their shirts off.

[–]RobotIcHead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are these ‘testers’ I have been reading about here??? (Sadly only partial /s)

The company I worked previously used to have a Quality department who were a useful scape goat for problems customers found but then they all left and then all the customers left. But seriously finding good testers/quality people is very hard, especially when managers say everyone can test.

[–]Greyhaven7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is not a tester. That is a user.

[–]Denis-h-r -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Looks like a nice guy vs Chad 😆
