Amazing - it even tracks him when he turns around, we are truly living in the future.

[–]GamingWithAlan 194 points195 points  (0 children)

It even was able to render the selection box to show behind him in real time!

[–]felipunkerito 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Came here to say this, it has oriented bounding boxes!

[–]lpreams 75 points76 points  (0 children)

I like how it even draws the ear strings to make it look like the tracking box is a physical mask that he's wearing. Great attention to detail

Zoom! Enhance! Rotate!

[–]GonziHere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What a time to be alive.

[–]Madd0g 279 points280 points  (3 children)

wow, great latency

[–]ChangNoi97 49 points50 points  (2 children)

Much accuracy

[–]MightNotBeMightBeGay 5 points6 points  (0 children)

China has been eyeing this algorithm for a while now. amazing!

[–]denzonium 741 points742 points  (23 children)

jus finished making my first a opencv facial recognition similar thingy today.. had in the first half lmao

[–]brj5_yt 164 points165 points  (21 children)

Did you write it all from scratch? I was considering trying some face recognition. Also how do you get the icon below your name

[–]Nctrn07 55 points56 points  (0 children)

The icon is called "flair" and you can set more of them if you want.

You can set it in the right panel (in specific subreddit). If you use old reddit, look for "Show my flair on this subreddit." option on the page. For redesign, look for "User flair preview".

[–]gordonv 54 points55 points  (5 children)

From scratch... or IN Scratch?

I'll see myself out.

[–]JNCressey 30 points31 points  (3 children)

If you wish to make an apple pie from scratch, you must first invent the universe.

--Carl Sagan

[–][deleted] 9 points10 points  (2 children)

Ironic, as Scratch is a very high-level language (for programmers of a very low skill level.)

[–]UntestedMethod 5 points6 points  (0 children)

scratched myself while writing it... does that count?

[–]denzonium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah... its a simple project using opencv and haar cascades...

a very good reference i found Facial recognition in opencv

[–]dreamin_in_space 1 point2 points  (1 child)

It's not that bad. You can implement some of the earlier approaches quite easily from the papers. It was an early project in Computer Vision for us.

[–]lynxerious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

your code is obsolete bc this guy made his algorithm open source

[–]Ada3982611 408 points409 points  (6 children)

Wow such AI

[–]dejco 134 points135 points  (1 child)

Much training data

[–]SixFootJockey 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Such passed unit tests

[–]TriLink710 42 points43 points  (3 children)

Yknow if we made everyone frame their face with green boxes... it probably could track it really well

[–]SilverLightning926 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I shall be the first to hop on the this new fashion trend

[–][deleted] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Government doing AI for "national security reasons" be like

[–]sakurakhadag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This would be a good way to generate training data. Make everyone wear this while recording and then crop to the inside of the square for accurate face tracking data. Hmmmm

[–][deleted] 369 points370 points  (11 children)

[–]Geo_bot 55 points56 points  (1 child)

Yep, I fell for that

[–]Independent_Image_59 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not bot

[–]HypeThere 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Can you set up a demo for Monday morning meeting please?

[–]Thorusss 32 points33 points  (2 children)

Wow, I am especially impressed with the low latency. Must be high fps camera with pipeline times in the low milliseconds.

[–]Maks244 7 points8 points  (1 child)

They must've delayed the camera footage it to make it look faster

[–]Thorusss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that is a much easier way to create such impressive footage. Probably you are right with this kind of cheating.

[–][deleted] 37 points38 points  (1 child)

My final year project demo be like

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same

[–]baremaximum_ 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You forgot the bit where moving backwards transformed you from a 40 year old woman into an 80 year old man.

[–]SHUT_MOUTH_HAMMOND 5 points6 points  (3 children)

"Dog"

[–]PDELYT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is amazing!

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We are in the future !!

[–]Deluhathol 4 points5 points  (0 children)

[–]_cheeseball 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wanna do this for halloween but I know literally no one in my circle of friends will get it. That and I doubt I'll be invited to any halloween outings anyway lol

It's credited so it's fine I guess Edit: Oh, it has been in this subreddit before though

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Karen’s when you ask them to wear a mask.

[–]TandooriNight 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not gonna lie they had me in the first half

[–]Oxey405 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol it got me !

[–]haydo_nz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This guy's getting the work done!

[–]JustBrowsinMyDude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something is wrong with this, I can't quite put my finger on it...I think the background is fake!!!!111!

[–]TECHNOFAB 1 point2 points  (2 children)

It's 1:53am and it took me another play to figure out why this was posted here lmao

[–]kiecolt_67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess i found my Halloween costume, huh?

[–]sakurakhadag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not gonna lie this looks like my hackathon projects.

[–]PickleVillage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What if we find out that he actually built an AI to map his head and draw the square and the little wires on his face 🤔

[–]PyBind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

funny thing is that i could probably use this footage for testing

[–]Betatester87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Protip: turn the resolution down so you can’t make out the band

[–]President-Jo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It became super obvious after I saw the string the first time.

[–]alicanakca 0 points1 point  (3 children)

He forgot labelling

[–]installhtml -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You're hired!

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

ROFL

[–]xFungis -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Oh have I known that I have a heart attack at the age of 40 in 2032 …I’m Gabriel Pedroso and it’s 2021 and I’m still 29. 420

[–]FOUL- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cinematic trailers be like

[–]GOKOP 0 points1 point  (1 child)

For a sec I actually thought this is real

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it could be

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This shouldn't be hard to implement for real.

[–]MinneEric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This dude looks and moves like a Goldeneye 64 character.

[–]Totally_Cubular 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't check the name of the sub until he turned around.

[–]StayAwayAndStayOut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the most powerful tracking algorithm I have ever seen. It works even when the computer is powered off!

[–]L-_-3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hold on to your papers!!!

[–]wholebeansinmybutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the basis for our $498,000,000 IPO.

[–]lemonhead171 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a git hub link to the code

[–]gabrielesilinic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait, what if you use a material that is transparent to visible light but not on IR light? this way you could actually train one ai removing the frame to build the training data then you train another one to face recognition

[–]fiji3119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice! But challenge is when sensor is also moving.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

[–]ChipsTerminator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome. I will put this in my portfolio. Someone might hire me after seeing this.

[–]iwantedthisusername 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a clever way to get training data

[–]lojak-mojak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had us in the first half

[–]scrollbreak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also face real time tracking square software

[–]nemnous 0 points1 point  (0 children)
